VVTi, do you known why the fabric of the roof gets loosened up get low? I have seen this in 3 similar beemers. Is it a common prob? Few said to get it done thru cushioning guys. Any comments?

Precisely!. you'd come across mine in a yard or in front of you with a sticker " its me dude"

lemme advice you mate. after talking to all ma brothers who were born with Beemers in their a...sess, now think i know a thing or two of how to look after the car. SERVICE NOW or YESTERDAY! or you'd make lotta people upset and another 5 page troll would surffice.

as long you bunch stays annanimous, let ma B5 (can I call ma car that name sir? ) be hidden from your privy eyes.. you'd see it live in front of you on the road (when you are hitting around 192kph on the meter) with a sticker near the tail light saying " its me dude"

Bravo brother, btw, what did i ask for this very emotional response? ps- am i still eligable for one or two questions from you fanatic BMW extremists? dont say no man. have thousands to ask from you professionals.
-
By the way Do you all park your beemers inside your bed rooms? And brush it teeth three times a day? If so pls tell me so. Will have to get use to that life if I have to treat the car the way you guys think I should treat. Or maybe not.
-
By the way why haven't you put a BMW logo on your profile man?
-
O wow So now you think this is not the car for me. What can I say man.
-
Man if you have the skills, even a lay land bus could be driven like in a grand prix. Have ever been in Dambulla road?

yo yo yo guys. no offence made to anyone. its just the way i think, i believe i said too much already about me. i simply dont want to be any body but want to be somebody, and that i believe made me say things i said about my friends car and the other Beemers. so lets not take offence shall we now? i wanted a car. a big car. an impressive car. a powerful car and now I've got it. think now all are making comments about this one presuming its previous owner didnt use it at all and simply had parked it to rot. it is not the case. she has been doing about 150-200 km per month. regular service and repair at company and keeping it good. its just that i out of no where started using 250-300 a week. so thats the difference. am no car dude with knowledge of all bhps phps to so many multiple abbreviations and numbers such as M54, b25, A 33, Q 007 etc. pls let me know what they mean and what they do. i got to know m car is E 39 only after talking to you guys. so treat me as a new brother. no am not that old. lessay am at my prime VVTi. and bro certainly i didnt mean any disrespect to my 3 brothers. (thats the last thing in ma mind). i just didnt want my self in one of them like so many other good cars. (i hate Toyotas by the way, it doesnt mean i am looking down at them). i do have ego, but not into this aspect mate. so my view is not to offend anyone. its the way i think. (am a good man guys) so ma car is M52. and E 39. what else do you guys call it? i call it BMW 525i. and all the guys who are in this forum., do you guys meet or do you be anonymous throughout? rememebr somewhere reading that they use to have a Beemer club. does that exist?

Ok now here we go. To VVTi. First, is ASC means anti skid control? How does it work? Answering your second question, man I was crazy over a Jag in spite many advices not to. Then was going after a Volvo 70 then an Accord(which in was very comfortable and attached to). Later one of ma good friends recommended this and it was love a first sight. No regrets and as mentioned wonder why I didn't think of beemers before. Maybe one things cos I see thousands of 3s in the road (no disrespect to ma brothers of 3s) the other thing is one of ma office collegue is having a 3 and didn't want to position my sled with him To rangerover, man you are worse than killjoy. Of course you are right, but can I sneak about 1000km before I cough out for those replacements? Hope the car will not give up on me at school traffic at two pm in in base line road when out side temperature hits at 36C. My previous Accord never did :-p Yeah carbon b4. Especially the cars which are meant to be driven should be driven. We should ban beemers to all lady drivers above thirty. Previous owner has been using the my car like using a F35 jet to do courier service for DHL. Don. Yes agree. It's a long thread. Thank you gentlemen for allowing a Jap to get into Germany. I would have been in ecstasy if not for the bloody US embargo for Iran oil.

yo range rover, Killroy revwed and the radiator craked. VVTi, yes man, agree with you on the radiator going bunks at Garage than in traffic. none of the radiator hoses were replaced as they were all good. the key knobs were replced and bugger charged 4K. no worries on that one. looking at what you guys saying i might have to be ready to accept a good bill at the next service i presume. still i couldnt play the bloody DVD. it doesnt read any of the DVDs i put in. someone told me that BMW palyers doesnt recognize pirated stuff. oh man. then there is this ASC button which Milroy said is made for Snow countries and wouldnt do any good in here. didnt understand what he said. also there is a Voice command button on the steering wheel, yet to be used, which i dont have a clue of how to get it working. does any of you drive a similar model? E39?

yeah guys, i did take the car yesterday to Milroy (the road is not bad at all, thanks to our Mervin Uncle). i was overwhelmed by the shere size of the garage. man thats not a garage, but a yard. bigger than the company i think. anyway i had replace the radiator (cos of a slight hairline crack) after Milroy became a Killroy after reving (i guess a good 6-7RPM). then he replaced a hose which needed replacement. had to buy two knobs to the key (the previous owner has basically eaten the rubber) so all in all thanks to the credit card, paid out LKR 55K. but i thought these were necessary replacements due to age like some one said. the engine light stopped lighting up till today mornning. so will take the car again maybe on Saturday assuming whatever is wrong, will hold till then. anyway went to Milroy yesterady as i had small issue on the petrol cap ot being opened. Milroy pulled some plastic wire from the boot (near the battery) and now it works. but paid up for a radiator, hose, key knobs and a good half day of my time. so i guess when you have something and not using it basically is a crime. especially a beemer and some one down the food chain gets the opportunity to be bitten off.

Thanks VVTi. Will check out the GB Matter within a month. Running thin after the buy and the rear mirror replacement. And sorry about posting my post twice. New no :-) To VWvortex, all this fluid stiff wouldn't they check and replace during the normal service which the company asked me to come around April? the last service was done last year April and when the meter was at 43K. Now it's 46k. AMA planning anyway to do do a regular service in March. I do around 1500km per month. So hope the mileage would be ok. Yes it's that car Range rover. It was used like a baba. Got a good deal and recommendation from one of my good friends. when cycled the repair history from company, no GB oil has been changed. What would be the cost like? Thanks guys for all your comments and advise. Yes I enjoy the drive every minute and more than that the attention you get when you are in it. Wonder why I didnt check beemers before. Almost bought a Jag before bought this one. But no regrets. Oh one more thing, on and off the engine light indicator lights up, and after a while it goes off for few days. Think this indicates that I need to get a service done I suppose. I have at least five more bars from seven for the next service. Can someone let me know on this? Cheers gentlemen.

Hi I bought my 525i 2001yom car from a very carefully used lady driver who had done only 23k for the last 6 years (with a total mileage of 46k......... In kilometers :-). Yeah good deal).it's a steptronic and enjoying every moment of driving. Replaced the rear view mirrors by paying 45k to prestige. Yes I should have bought it from singapore or KL but, I needed them to be replaced soon as the existing one with the gel had gone pretty bad due to climate. The car does around 6.5 to 7 in colombo. Didn't check long distance yet. Downloaded the manual and learning all functions and features. Coming from Honda Accord family, I would say prestige automobiles need a long way to go to compete with the likes of stafford motors when it comes to customer comfort and service. I don't know about milroys. He is anyway too far for me who is from Kottawa. Will some one tell me the common areas of concerns on a 525i? Thanks so much.
