    Had the same issue. Culprit was, Blocked ac water drain pipe. Straight fix. Any decent ac technecian can handle it

    This particular sample is the black one which advertised few months back.I have discussed with them and my mechanic visited them to have the look on the car.and sellers were im hurry to dispose the thing.whithin few days.I noticed something fishy. Stayed away and amazed by the fact that it is still not sold with the nice stories they tell about the car. I dont believe the milage beacuse it doesnt tally the regular wear and tare.

    No...if we consider 15w40 as an example. 15 is the viscocity at zero celcius and 40 is the viscocity at working temperature.Probably 85 to 100 celculius. W stands for winter.

    +1 clarkson. Experienced a total colour change on a corona AT 190 from black to white few years back. process took more than 5 weeks at a local garage. and the paint was superb with low heat inside the cabin on daytime due to white paint. but there were rattles from plastics everywhere,especially from dash which we were unable to locate nor rectify.which were quite annoying on uneven roads. my best bet is to not change colours. repaint the original colour. you may save time money an probable rattles.

    the very same tree is still there as i remember. and they still maintain a rudimentary service facility there for cars.though they lost Ford agency. building is mainly occupied by Bajaj service facility. Remember the exact place as i went to service my bike at university days back in 3-4 years back.

    +1 to Diesel Corolla. it is a workhose you can beat to death. 2C engine is economical as or more than VIVA as per rupee basis. maintains and repairs can be done at any corner workshop. no fancy electrics. by now all these specimens done beyond 250-200k or so. If its below 200k definitely odo is hampered. get hold of with an ENGINE overhauled one with relevent documents for confirmation. check where autobox engage D position properly om cold start. fix would be 25-30 if needed. other mechanicals can deal with easily but make sure to get down prices if repairs to be done. keep 15 maximum margin for 65 series and 16.5 max for top condition prestien english plate. do not pay a penny beyond this. always bargain since these cars doesnt move as it used to be now. added diesel is economical if you run a lot of miles per month. say aroud 2000km up atleast. good luck. PS-I would buy 90s Corolla at anytime against VIVA.its just me. your money-your car

    actually it should be 20.45 Hp addition. fuel economy improves by 50-70% depending on your driving style. you might enjoy 20+kmpl if simultaneously installed with Dahamsa thing. kidding man. get a life

    you can run 12-15 years with the same shock. but i dont think that shock is working as it should be.most Manufacturers recommend replace shocks 100k mark and KYB recommends in 80k.that of course in a country with fine roads. fine set of shocks can reduce braking distance by proper articulation.it prevents gittery movemwnts on rough roads and prevent body bounce. all in all i feel im sri lankan conditions, no shock absorber can survive young enogh for 12 years. just what i felt

    planning to change 4 shocks in my carina. TAAS offers 4 KYB gas for 43k. Namarathna motors for 38k. both are exact same product as they say and made in japan.but TAAS is the agent for kyb while Namarathna is an authorized dealer.so feel that there is a minimum chance to go wrong buying from TAAS.and also feels that its 5k more for exact same product. Namarathna motors have TOKICO 4 japanese shoks for 30k. they say which has same quality as KYB while both can be seen as JDM OEM parts. Car originaly came with KYB Gas type shocks. can anyone shed some light here. which brand from where?

    if it is 18000km. odometer has been tampered for sure. 27km per day is highly unlikely for a starlrt which are cheap cars to run.

    i dont think its so difficult to source the part. anyway my personal experience is. this rack repair is not a perfect job unless its done by proper experienced mechanic with precision. had to repair same rack 3 times on my car. on 4th time i got it done with a mechanic in downsouth and it worked like a charm.butter smooth steering. but after all these my suggestion is, go for used jap rack. fix it and forget it. and use proper dextron 2 oil from toyota or mobil. stay away from STR OR CALT*X common auto oil. search around panchikawatte "watte". you can spot a one. if i remember correct same rack is used in carina 170 and corolla 100 series.not sure though. good luck

    Diesels are economical vehicles if you run alot. to give you specific number, If you run less than 2500kms for a month,a diesel is not cheaper considering the fact that old diesels are hacked to death by chepos and spares are more expensive than petrol varients of same car. also mind you it gives frequent hickups than same age petrol. at the moment also im using a diesel car and its quite economical beacuse i run 3500-4000km per month. so my simple advice is. 1 Stick to petrol car. 2- atleast Stay away from starlet diesel perticularly. 3 - Starlet 300-301 would be best if english plate are expensive. 4- I have no experience in Kelisa.

    Pre facelift 300 -301 plates available well below 1.7m. i met several samples last month when i was searching for one.found 65 diesel in good nick for1.65.Carina is a different toyota from that era i have no complaints. as i noticed in general. cars from Ratnapura are overpriced. Kandy cars are bit aged mechanically.may be due to steep roads. cars from colombo are the cheapest and average good nick. So i highly advice you to Go colombo for a day and hunt for cars.until get a good deal. always avoid sales joints. good luck.

    is it the White colour one with glanza kit.diesel english plate and black colour hood.? car is in good nick but again the engine is shot.a replacement will be another 200k and you are reaching the vios money with that. just for glanza(fiber-local made) bodykit.he may never sell that car for 19.5, not even 15. forget it.

    CE110 owners are quoting extraorbitant price tags. you just ignore them and give your offer. somebody with a real need of selling the car will agree. and 65 series 110 is going around 1.5m. dont pay a penny beyond 1.55. go for the sellers who really need to dispose the car and upgrade. most of toyota diesels are used by cheapos and their argument is, "my price is 2.5 m rupee.if i get offer above 2.4 i will consider.unless i will keeep it forever.no problem beacuse this is a hell of a car."

    CE110 65 series can be brought for 1.4-1.55 m these days. dont pay a penny beyond this. i been searching for one last month. and go bargain.around 1.5m. CE 114 is all wheel drive model of 110 which has low matket value for unknown reason in sri lanka.otherwise same car.

    beacuse your monthly travel is less than 500kms. i Highly advice you to stick into a petrol car. probably a good starlet with autogear and english plates. dont worry so much about small mechanical niggles.you can sort them out cheap.consider about interior and body. to juice out the profit from a diesel car, You should be covering more and more miles per month.with your amount of use it is not profitable at all considering the revenue licence and regualar service cost.left alone the additional repairs. if the blue starlet you are talking is the one with Glanza bodykit @kurunagala. just forget it. engine is shot and owner is retarded mad doesnt admit it. after all, if you are so stick to a diesel. toyota Diesels of 90s are rugged mechines can bare up lot of torture. starlet diesel comes with 1N engine and its certainly powerless.you will be a laughing stock at lights.recurrent engine mount failures are commen.leg space is enough for avarage person.better go for petrol version. corolla 65 series will be in your reach and it has 2C engine.that is a hell of a engine where easily managable elanywehere.with ample parts supply. If you search enough you can get hold of 65 series corona/carina with 2C turbo engine.which would be the best choice. but be carefull beacuse almost all of them are tortured by el chepos who run them.and qoute sky high values.but its a comfy,spacious car.or you can go for 300 series versions on that budget. And i am the person who totelled that perticular caldina, dont worry even if it comes in any colour or shape.it must have the Asian Alliance insurance as a prevoius owner. caldina is a good car if you dont mind the wagon body shape. try to find CZTurbo varient. but again i repeat. Go for Petrol beacuse limited use. my preference list. Starlet Reflet. Corolla 110. Carina AT210 pre facelift. Mazda BJ5P pre facelift. Nissan N16. Honda EK3.

    something wrong with android with editting feature of post. i tried to correct some and above post went mad. stil you can see the image link of advert.will correct it as get hold of laptop tomorrow. On a side note,Called the seller and he seems not an average crook but a quite professionl.he said that odo reading is unable to read due to power failure of car display and admited that it was not 86k.and car will be sold as wreck. Insurer had hard time selling the wreck due to the mention of Their name on CR.and buyer could have been able to bargain a lot due to that. thank you for the support all.
