No, the ones in question here are not cut/bud vehicles, i saw them myslef. they come in seperate chasis, body and engine. nothing is cut.. thats one thing i'm sure of.. but the latest what i heard is that the main "pull" this guy had in the goverment had been unfortunately "blown" off in the recent past (no need to mention names). and can see some stormy weather in the near future for this venture.. so, i'm holding on to my money for the time being..

That just it, they do register these now.. you'll be getting a brand new number also.. but the book will say "assembled in sri lanka using reconditioned parts" and the make is not Toyota but some other name.. but my worry is, are our brothers doing the assembling correctly? (I suppose that will have to be answered by them.. he he) I dont want to be in the middle of Yala and the 4x4 suddenly stop working or something..

Its a place in seeduwa, the cost for a 2.5L turbo auto is 2.7M and a 3L turbo auto is 3.1M. These are all 95' - 98' models. Have done about 130k Km in Japan. But are in pretty good condition. Same condition surf here is about 4.2M!!

Hi guys.. need some advice. What do you think of the locally assembled Japanese vehicles? What they do is, bring down the chassis, engine, and body separately of used vehicles in Japan and re-assemble them here. RMV registers them under a different name, and give a new number, legally I must add. I'm eyeing a Toyota Surf which is very cheap compared to the original vehicle (about 1M less), and has done about 135K km in Japan. What do you guys think? Is it a good idea to go for one..

Hey guys, do you know what kind of radar detectors work in SL? cos, there are tons of detectors on ebay, just put a search for radar detectors and you'll get enough and more, very cheap also.. But, will they work in SL? what kind of frequency are we talking about here? cos, I dont know scot about the frequencies they use in SL.. Since paypal is available to us now, we can get some down for less than 10,000/-..

Hola, u've been great mate.. thanks a lot for the info.. u too miniace thanks a lot... but, have some news to share with u guys.. and I must say I got the problem sorted out without spending a cent!!! here goes.. I went to Toyota Lanka to meet Hola's contact there.. he was on leave today but, most of the dudes there are very helpful. Talked to a foreman who was hanging around, and he had some startling news.. The rack movement is a factory setting it seems!! The steering rack in the 121 needs to move just about 1mm! He also said that if there is any damage or wear in the mounts I should feel it right away.. and it will be a 'dug dug' noise coming from the rack when u hit a pothole, since I would notice that on our wonderful roads.. He said, after about 20k Km to come and just grease up the mounts, and they would be happy to do it.. so, there u go.. something new to learn every day... also, the dude who misdiagnosed the problem is a well known guy down baseline road (whom I wouldn’t mention, but, I should mention rail road tracks.. ).. so, this goes to show, always get a second opinion from the agents (even though u don’t do the repair at the agents $$$$$$) cheers mates.. thanks a lot again..

Anyone using a Luxel.. I heard that although it is a Corolla, it outperforms the 121 at all benchmarks!! it has a 1.8L engine, and suppose to have CRAZY pickup and handling and it is suppose to do 14Km/L!!! in city traffic!! Outstation, nearly 18 Km/L!!! what is the model number of this? is it 122? are these roomers correct, or is it just a dream a corolla fan had last night..

its [email protected] thanks for the feed back and info dudes... totally appreciate it..

Hope u guys can help me.. I recently bought a Toyota Corolla 121, 2001 model, 18000 Km on the clock (yeah right!!.. but if my guess is correct its done about 30k) my problem is my mechanic, after looking at the car said, that the steering rack is moving about 1-2mm when the steering is turned. Can this be a serious issue, he is saying - that four new bushes in the rack mounts can fix the problem. And, no need to do it right now since the play is not that big.. what do u guys think? can I run the vehicle as it is? or is a trip to the garage is written in the starts? checked with Toyota lanka, they right away said Rs 40k for a new steering rack ($$$$$$)

White smoke when first started is normal. If white smoke continues you have an internal coolant leak (cracked head or blown head gasket). Black smoke is caused by a rich fuel condition. Blue smoke is caused by oil consumption. The smell of coolant inside your car is caused by a leaking heater core. Hope this helps..
