Hi Don, Thanks for the response... Gas tank has been removed already. And some of the pipes are already left open...So I am guessing that there should be no gas left in the system. I appreciate if you can give me contacts of those professional LPG installers and Peugeot mechs. I think what is left in this car from the LPG unit is just the regulator/ vaporizer and some hoses running here and there making engine bay a mess.

Hi, I recently bought an old Peugeot 305 GL and it has few issues I want your help with. 01. The engine bay is filled and cluttered with hoses of the LPG unit. I see hoses running into inlet manifold and some to the carb. Yesterday I tried to remove some of the hoses of LPG Vaporizer unit and there was coolent coming out from it, I refitted the hose and I wanna remove all the items of gas unit as I dont wish to use it. I wanna keep this car running entirely on petrol. These parts and hoses of LPG unit kinda getting in the way when I want to check the engine and its very confusing. And having this unit is an additional weight. How can I remove all these parts? how can I identify them? I can post pics of the entire engine bay or how many different hoses of LPG unit connect to different places. Someone pls help me. 02. The car is very sluggish to start. I cranked with the carb petrol feed line removed and it doesnt pump petrol. However, with the carb feed petrol line connected to carb and if I pour some petrol in to the carb, car starts. But the start doesnt hold on always. If I rev the engine it stops, Sometimes it revs very well. So I am very much sure that the petrol pump not working properly. It works at times and goes dead sometimes so I cannot start at all.. Sometimes after pouring petrol into carb, the at low revs the engine tries to stop but if you increase revs or accelerate, engine goes running very well. Just like the low pressure or whatsoever applied to pump isnt enough at low revs and it gets adequate at high revs. Sometimes I may be able to fix the existing pump but I bought a new French pump anyways. I want a trouble free continuous flow of petrol into carb. The issue is, all these LPG hoses, brake oil servo at right side do not allow me to reach the fuel pump.. I need your expert views on these.. Thanks!

Hi guys, This is my first post here and I'm from Gampaha. This will be long but to make this easily readable I will write in brief as much as possible. I recently bought this 14 sri Peugeot 305 GL and it has some wierd symptoms Very sluggish to start. You need to crank about 6 or more times to start. Starting but engine doesnt hold on and soon dies. Sometimes it catches up but when I shift to first gear engine stops. I feel like petrol is not delivered to engine. Thought it as fuel pump but tested fuel delivery hose to carb and fuel spurts were good. So I'm guessing something's wrong with the carb, may be the former owner has adjusted mixture screws and carb volume controls or the jets may have clogged. Not sure how to reset these to good performing standards and I personally think installing a new japanese carburetor that goes with 1472cc engine capacity will be reliable.. Can someone name me good carbs for this engine? I dont like taking a risk running with the old carb..What you suggest should offer me the fuel economy pls. .............................. I prefer eplacing the engine with a new Japanese one with Auto Transmission. Can someone suggest me a place to get this done? What will be the best petrol EFI engine for this? What might be the cost? ........................... I also need to get a good paint job done as there are rust and decays in the boady. I talked to a friend in Malabe and he requests around 25 for tinkering and at car shine Negambo, for the paint they will charge around 170000. I think this is too much..Are there mobile painters who could come to your place and do the job? Please give me a way to contact them. Someone who does tinkering and painting together would be great,, .............................. There in my car I have a gas system which I want to be removed.. If someone wants that system I can sell. Does anyone have parts for Peugeot 305 GL? I need original side mirrors and AC system parts. Please help..Thanks
