True, and I'm not a big fan of this auto business either.....but still, I'm not comfortable with the idea of selling it because, being my first car(Toyota carina), it has never given me a serious trouble (despite frequent long journeys) other than for a few running repairs I had to attend to during past few years....I may not be lucky enough to get hold of a car that reliable.......So, for the time being I would rather stick to my carina.

Experts, please explain how to properly change gears with padal in a fully automatic car (Not a modern paddle shifter). how much should I rev the engine (RPM) before temporarily releasing the accelerator padal ? will it badly affect the engine if I frequently do it in hilly road for quick acceleration.? Thanks in advance ..!

When I had my car radiator top tank cracked recently, the local garage guy gave me an option of getting it done with copper ("piththala top tank" according to him) and assured that it's a more reliable fix than the normal plastic replacement tank. (cost -Rs.8000) But i was too afraid of the unknown and opted for the plastic one. Anyone in this forum who got the top tank done in copper ??????Experts, your openion please.....

Thank you Don for the quick reply.... Just googled to check Darley road in the map....By the way, is Darley road nowadays called T B Jaya Mawatha...? Quite a lot of search to do in the shops along that lenthy road I guess......Is there a specific shop there that you'd recommend that I should try first..?

I have an old carina AT 192 (1995) with brocken front door beedings (but otherwise in very good running condition). I searched for new/used beedings in places around kandy and kurunegala but failed to find anything that matches my car. So, anybody, please let me know if there's a place (in colombo/elsewhere) where i can find these... Thanks in advance..! PS : Some spareparts shop owner from K'gala told me that, I will have to buy the whole door...not the beedings alone...Is that true.???? :sad-smiley-058:
