  1. Thanks a lot. Will go there and see.
  2. Shortly before the oil change, I took the car for a injector and nozzle cleanup. The car's not putting out much smoke except for in high revs.
  3. Hi all, I drive a Nissan SB-14 and recently I changed ATF. Since then the pulling power of the car has significantly reduced. It takes hours to overtake a vehicle specially in the high gears. It would be great help if I can get a clue about what's wrong. I'm planning to take the car to A*W for a checkup. Also are there any garages or mechanics specializing in auto transmission? Thanks in advance
  4. My dad owns a 1997 Pulsar CJI and I have drive it a lot. It's a very good car and spares are not hard to find. It has a lot in common with FB 14 but for me, Pulsar is more comfortable than the FB14. As for Fuel economy, it gives about 10 km/l in Kandy (not much flat roads) and during long distance driving it gives around 13-14 km/l. Hope this helps.
  5. Hi Lakshank, Did you get the device delivered to SL? My concern is whether SL customs clear such devices for use. There are devices on eBay costing around $28 with $25 shipping. I recently bought one for $28 and now I'm worried about customs.
  6. I'm planning to buy a Radar Detector on eBay. However I'm not sure whether it'll be cleared by customs on legal issues. Is it illegal to use such devices in Sril Lanka and will I be able to receive one shipped from the US? Awaiting comments
  7. I'm not that familar with P11 and EK3. Does EK3 provide the same drive confort as Carina? I know that it fits the budget but I've seen EK3s ranging from 0.9 mil to 2.0+ mil. What makes this huge difference? AFAIK P11 should provide the same level of comfort. Would I be able to buy one within the budget? (I have no idea about P11 prices) Also how much MPG can it give?
  8. Guys, thank you very much for the comments. For the moment I'm thinking about going for a Carina, since this is my first car and the resale value is high. A friend of mine who's into car sales told the same thing about Carina diesels. So I think I'll go for a Carina Ti. I'm not sure whether I'll find a GT for the budget I have planned, but I have to find out and see. I'll update the thread as things progress. Thank you once again
  9. Hi, I'm planning to buy my first car in about a month's time. I'm planning to spend around 1.8 million and hope to use the car for about two years. The current options I have are 1. Toyota Carina AT-210 / AT-212 2. Peugeot 406 I know a little about the general stuff about Carina such as comfort and the availability of spares (my brother-in-law owns one). However I'm not at all familiar with Peugeot 406. I know it's a wonderful car and all that but I know nothing about owning one. Could someone please enlighten me about 406? I went through the posts related to 406 but they didn't contain much of the information I would like to know. The questions I have about 406 are - Is there a significant difference in performance comparing D8 and D9? - What's better in terms of running costs (including fuel cost), going for a diesel one or a petrol one? - Are there spare parts readily available in the market? So what will be the expert opinion, Toyota or Peugeot? Thanks in advance.
