You should be really disappointed about the car because not only the 2nd hand sellers who used it for around 3 years the comapny is selling it for less than 3million with a 5 year warrenty. On a serious note a car which is sold in the company with such a warrenty and a facelift and 3year olds going for prices close to 3mill means that the car is doing well in the 2nd hand market. This car was bought by modern young families (And also as a 2nd car).If they were old they would have a sedan and if conventional gone for an alto bulto or wa gonR. So when these people collect some money they tend to upgrade their car. In 3 yeara they must have saved enough to up grade to something like a kia rio audia1 q2 etc. So it may not be just an issue with a car they are being sold relatively new

What kind of performance are you expecting. 1.0-60time? 2.Safety ratings? 3.Fuel performance (economy) ? 4.Performance in the resale market ? 1. You are probably better off using a calander to measure this. Its not bad but not a performance car. 2. Even the company says its not a safe car (dont know whether they said that because i went there to check out a new delica when i inquired about the glory well cant compare those two). On the plus side has duel airbags unlike indian crap. Cheap leather looking interior. Cheap plastics all around. Bad build quality. All in all its a cheap package for someone who wants something brand new. But if i wanted something To carry 7 people id go for an old korean 7 seater or mitsubishi chariot honda stream etc yhey may be decades older but they are miles ahead in quality and safety

Going for an old car is a good option than the tuk tuk for family use. A ke72, or even an older corolla lancer box. Those old lancer wagons batu sunnys are good options. Buy one of these spend some and restore it to good condition.

Hybrid battery cell voltage drop Issue
Clark'sson replied to Aslam86's question in Electrical problems
And you should factor in the aditional maintainence and repair costs involved in a hybrid. So its actually not worth using a hybrid But In the days when it was raining aquas and fits they were cheaper to buy than ice cars of the same segment with similar options. Thats why they are popular. But due to increased repair /maintainence costs and battery issues they are not holding on to their value as much as an ice car. So if its not a highly used car its not worth going for a hybrid. And using used batteries is not a good option if yoi intend to keep the car (also if your genuinely going to sell it) . Actually used parts are only good for body parts. Electrical should be bought new and mechanical should be bought new or repaired if you want to enjoy trouble free motoring. -
WagonR 2017(MH55s) Alternator(ISG) Belt Tensioner
Clark'sson replied to lakmaln's topic in General Automotive
So the st*rl*ng guys and the car sale mudalalis give warenties right. So this should be covered by them ne. Othetwise why do you call it a warenty. -
Yes usually toyotas are the worst maintained cars because the people who buy it Buy them to make a profit so dont invest on the maintainence even skiping routine maintainence. Buy them because of the availability of cheap duplicate parts which they use. Give them to bas who does patch up repairs to avoid cost And do not know much about vehicles so dosent use or maintain them properly. In short they get a hacked out car and hack it even further and try to sell it to more than they bought it. So they are(most of them) over priced Hacked And not well maintained

Go for the agent imported 141 with emmision records you can check the true millage. With lesser repairs and being manufactured for srilankan conditions the total cost of ownership will be less although the fuel economy will be slightly less. Most axios allions and priui have run to the moon and back and had their odometers tampered both in japan and in srilanka. If you are not stuck to toyotas there are better options such as the but thier maintainence cost may be slightly higher than the 141 but are much better cars lancer Ex Mazda 3 Honda civic fd

Lithium batery Fire and Electrocution risk in Hybrid,Electro(?)

So They expect the battery to burn at even some rate. Knowingly putting such batteries in cars should be considered manslaughter. -
What's better in the long term - used or new car?
Clark'sson replied to HelaS's question in Car Buying Information
Unless you dont have any spare time to spend on a car (say you are a medical intern) go for the used car. The band new car will come with a company warenty and peace of mind but will depreciate markedly during the initial few years. The old car which has hit its initial depreciation will retain its value or according to sri lanka appreciate in value. The body parts will be much cheaper and servicing etc will be easy. A new car will need to be maintained at the company or recommended place keep the warenty but you can send the used one to the local service (specialy great if you live outstation) You can find body parts much cheaper than for the brand new. Youll not be that hurt by a dent. Lets say you trade paint with a tuk tuk. That will just buff off. But the new cars the buffer may fall off etc(lightweight and delicate) and also may need to touch up small dents too. You may need to take it to the guarage and spend some time with the grease monkeys but youll learn about vehicles and may enjoy it. You may need to do some repairs in a old car when you buy it with the amount you check before you buy you can reduce that amount. You also should consider there are some expenses involving a brand new car too like. Registration tinting carpeting seat covers maybe some protective films. Accessories. In car entertainment etc. May be a set of rims. Running in services. So may be it will come close to or exceed the repair cost of the used car. So best option do your research buy a old one after a through checkup. Take a known bas when you go to see cars -
If i were you id go for the yaris from these 2. Recondition dosent mean its a good car. A recondition car from 2014/2015 could have run in excess of 100 000km and could have a tampered odometer saying 10 000km. And the other thing is it has a good probability of being in an accident and being touched up and sold. And dont believe much in the car sale mudalali warenties. Also the car is small and the 660cc engine will not have enough to take 4 adults up nuwara eliya. When it comes to the yaris they were imported brand new and they should have emission tests which can be used to get an idea of the true millage. They are designed for sri lankan conditions. They have a 1300cc engine. Double of what you get in the wagonR. And it is a sedan with ok space for 4 adults and their luggage. But you can look at other options such as the Mitsubishi lancer cs (2008) Mazda 3 Honda civic Nissan sunny n17 Hyundai elentra All of which if found in good condition would fare better than an accidented wagonR you get without number plates from a sale with some mudalali warenty

In your description you have mentioned that the s.korean picanto is superior in quality in every aspect. So is there anything else to consider. And the s.korean brands kia and hyundai have made vehicles with similar or better build quality to the japs since around 2006. Also the picanto is the only one with a 5 year agents warenty from this lot. If being brand new is an essential requirement to you go for the picanto. If used is an option there is a sea of options to choose from

When i installed fog light to my montero there was a light in the meter cluster which started to light up when the fogs where on. The switch (which came with the pair of fog lights) was installed into a slot close to the key hole. The bloody relays always went bust and had to run without the fogs most of the time. If you look closely at the meter cluster you can see if there is a slot or a bulb to indicate the fog lights

Used luxury SAV for 6 to 7 million?

You can add the Audi Q2 to your list. And my personal preference from these 2 is the diesel engine but do your homework and study about bmw diesel engines before you buy. -
Aqua 40000km full Service @ Toyota Lanka
Clark'sson replied to priyan85's topic in General Automotive
I personally change all the fluids at 40000km keeps the components they are functioning for in good nick. And afterall changing the fluids are much easyer and more predictable than replacing a component when it breaks. But Rs.60 000 seems to be expensive. The cost for all the fluid changes including cvt diff oil transfer case oil break oil power steering oil coolent and the 40000 general service with filters all genuine oil and filters cost only around Rs.40000 (not in company) for the hyundai santafe which is a midsized 4wd Suv. So Rs.60 000 for a small toyota 2wd car is expensive. -

Clark'sson replied to Darious Stone's question in Car Buying Information
Congratulations on your purchase and great to know that our advice healped. And its also good to see someone who actually did the right thing rather than discussing a lot and then telling he bought the wagonr because its commen. Btw did you go for the auto or manual ? -
Buying a new car between price range 5mil-6mil
Clark'sson replied to Pasindusam's question in Car Buying Information
Totally agreed. Honda may have done tones of r&d in the uk but it dosent translate into how it will fare with srilankan climate fuel quality or makabas mechanics. And does the agent offer the 1L or is it the 1.5L they are offering. -
Allion 240 (2003-2005) vs Axio (2007-2008)
Clark'sson replied to GomesL's question in Car Buying Information
I would suggest in order Lancer ex, mazda 3(go for the agent imported one over the axela jdm), honda fd1, non axio corolla 141(for your budget you can even find a diesel one) Even though the non axio 141 will do around 1kmpl short of the axio most of the axios are abused so they would do much less thatn a good condition 141 and the axio has a troublesome cvt while the 141 dosent have that issue If you want a 2007ish family vehicle you can go for suvs like the tucson or sportage diesels too which would be more economical than the petrol cars above. If you think outside the box theres the 2007ish peugeot 407, vw jetta etc too -

Buying a new car between price range 5mil-6mil
Clark'sson replied to Pasindusam's question in Car Buying Information
Isnt unimo doing mg anymore? Looks like a bargain and a good looker too. Checked out a uk review and it was offered with a 7year 80 000mile warenty there. The only problem is if the local agent is micro. Anyways if i were you id go for it -
Totally agree. They give a proper warenty which is an absolute pease of mind and you cant compare it with the mudalali warenties you get from car sales. And when theres a manufacture defect you get things replaced even after the warenty has expired (hy*nd@i l@nk@) did it. The cars you get trough agents are acclimatized to our conditions so it copes better with our environment. And they are responsible for it.

Best to buy around 2.7_2.8 million
Clark'sson replied to Janaka Pradeep's question in Car Buying Information
Just check spare parts shops about whether they are posting parts. There are korean spare parts stores who are willing to post any part to anywhere within a day when you deposit. So you could easyly find some jap spares store who does that. Then you need not to go for a old hacked toyota just because you cant source parts easily. You can go for a much newer mazda 3 for the price of a 121 And there were some 2010 elentras advetised recently for much lower than your budget which is about a decade newer than the 121.
