GAP

Hi friends, Am running VW beetle which is a 1969 (1300 model). my brakes were very poor. if i go around 60kmh and apply brakes, the car will stop after going 5 or 6 meters. the brake shoes were worn out and i replaced them. when i drove for the first time after replacement i felt like the brakes are worst than before. so when i ask my mechanic he said that it will take some time for the new shoes to get seated with the drums. the brake system is been bleed and there are is no air trapped. so i made a drive to colombo and back and i felt that the brakes were some what good than the first drive after replacement. what i want to know is is that, what my mechanic said to me is true or not ? thanks guys.

Hi Guys, I just replaced my bug's windscreen which was cracked at the time i purchased it. but when replacing it i found out that the original windscreen (the tinker says its a original windscreen) it some what little smaller. And the cracked one was not a original one. it was a custom made and as i think it got cracked when they try to fix it since the custom made one doesn't have the curve. so could any one who has a 1969 model BUG please send me the dimensions of the windscreen from TOP LEFT TO RIGHT and BOTTOM LEFT TO RIGHT. so i can check whether the so called my original windscreen is correct or not. thanks guys, i hope my mechanic will come on sunday to replace it, but i would like to learn to do those things by my self rather than going behind mechanics to come and fix them for me. any way again, thanks for your information.

Hi Any body knows how to replace the clutch cable of a VW 1300 Beetle, since i can't take the car to mechanic am planing to replace it by my self. if any body have any good articles on the web to do this please send me the URLs as well. thank you. Gayan
