There is a problem with that gearbox, A*W said it will cost around 70K to repair or have to import a replacement from Japan, which will cost lot more.

I think Belta 1.3L is better car than yaris, although Yaris comes with 1.5 engine. Japanese domestic cars are much better. Also have better interior. Belta has better fuel consumption. Belta 1.0L car suits only for city. try to buy 1.3 L. about 2 months ago 1.1L - 2.8 - 2.9 mill, now 3.1 - 3.3 mill 1.3L - 3.2 mill, now 3.5 - 3.6 mill

Last few days I went to almost all the car sales in colombo and suburb. According to car importers there is a huge demand for vehicles(mainly for cars) after the tax reduction. Also there is a shortage of unregistered vehicles in the market mainly cars. It is almost impossible to find some cars such as Honda civic. But Axio, Belta , Vitz, Allion and vios are available. Customers have to choose form limited selection of cars. I think importers are trying to make artificial shortage. They show the images of the next shipments and ask to pay an advance. Last week prices are slightly increased.

I think you can go for a 2003 - 2004 Swift around 16 - 17 lacks. But if you can find a Toyota Corolla AE110 1998/1999/2000 car it will be a good buy. The corolla will cost around 15.5 to 17 .5 according to the condition. Out of two Swift has better fuel consumption. But without just jumping, better take time and look for a better condition vehicle

Sri Lanka cannot impose at least a periodic ban on importing motor vehicles. Sri Lanka has to fulfill theWorld Trade Organization (WTO) agreements. If Sri Lanka imposes a ban on importing vehicles it will directly affect Sri Lankan exports, WTO membership and external commercial relations. So the News is 100% false. That will never happen. But the truth is there will be an import tax hike soon on vehicles mainly for cars.
