  1. hey Madz... i'd love a sticker as well man... please count me in... thanks in advance:)!
  2. Hey man! The car in transporter 2 is the Audi A8… its not a A4….. I’m 100% sure on it, cos the A8 has the W12 engine and if u have the movie check out the starting credits… you see the W12 logo on the front grill… Besides.. by the size of it, its too big to be a A4.. yep, and i just checked out the web... its a A8
  3. Seriously, I too think this is some publicity stunt by Chrysler…. Cos there’s nothing called bad publicity…. .. hey I bet most of us wouldn’t have even cared about the challenger if it wasn’t for this article… right…. Heheheee!
  4. I totally agree.. I have noticed that some bikers tend to have an attitude issue… really, the cops are doing their job and hey… they ARE doing it for us…. I know that sounded kinda lame, but wat I mean is they do it to look out for the public and their safety.. and mocking them demeans the riders themselves…. Ok, true some drivers are just as reckless as bikers, but still they know their limits... and guys being unafraid of the cops doesnt make you any more manly than anyone else... so let them do their job, and try not to break the rules (at least when they're around;))
  5. hey man!!!! thanks for this!!!! this is SERIOUSLY good.. one of the main shortcomings i saw in the new forums! now its fixed! heheheee! and i guess thanks to Dinesh too i guess:)

    X Trail

now a H3 wud be ok to go for if you have a permit...
  7. where is CBK mawatha? is this what some call IT drive.. the road that leads to Millennium IT and all? personally i dont see anything wrong in people racing on that road.... there aren’t pedestrians there.. so no innocent people are bothered or harmed…. Its onlyt he riders/drivers… and they do it out of choice and knowledge (at least most of them.. hehehee).. maybe the police can kinda be more leaner towards drivers/riders on that road… by the way does anyone know where that road finishes? I’ve never been to the end of it….
  8. wow! this is quite reasnoable, dont you guys think? i guess we just might see some of these in SL.. but still they arent the most economical sadly:(.. but hey, i guess those who can afford one, can run one!
  9. WOWW! This is the coolest thing i've seen all week ! for one, i'm pretty sure the MoD wont let anyone import this thing no matter how cool it is, or how much tax people are willing to pay... heheheheeeeee!!! man seriously cool!!!! just out of curiosity, i bet one of those things must be like 300,000 bucks!!!
  10. thanks man. ya, i the W126 models come in ranges like 280s etc.... the 124e and the E-class are actually a bit diferent.. though they loook almost alike, there's a difernce in the lights, grill and some parts... One reason my friend’s looking for a 126 is that those cars really don’t depreciate like Japanese cars or some other European cars.. and Mercs (even the older ones) are pretty dam solid vehicles… even the 123 he has right now is quite a drive… bit on the slow side when it comes to acceleration, but when it comes to driving long distance it is amazing… I’ve driven the car to the katunayaka and back a couple of times… effortless drive.. And the 126 has a very majestic look… I haven’t driven one yet, but cant wait till I do…
  11. thanks. wow, seems pretty OK i guess. this sounds more like something we can run in sri lanka... thats IF you can afford to buy it in the 1st place...
  12. has anyone got an idea about how much a Mercedes 123 deisel converted (64-XXXX) would be worth? its VERY well maintained. And how much would the market price of a diesel 126(8) the bigger version is... i'm talking of the car that came out in the late 80s and early 90s.. before the whole "CLASS (C,E,S)" came into the mercedes range... this was very popular among VIPs those days... i think even President Premadasa rode on one of these.. A friend's got a 123 and is planning to upgrade to the 126... how much more would he have to pocket out?
  13. is DOD permission absolutlyu necessary? cos it just shoots little blobs of aint right.... then again those plastic air guns you get ont he pavement can cause just as much damage... and i'd think if you use metal balls instead of plastic ones they can be deadly... so how come those arent banned?
  14. well, the crach gaurd cant be the first things to come on contact with the PERSON... i know.... if you run into a tree or a wall, you'd want the crash guard to actually GUARD you... but these new heavy-metal 4x4 bumpers give more than enough protection even without the crash-guard.... and as for the 'unwanted' lights.. i hear that its ok to have thenm on the vehicle as long as its got a plastic/canvas cover... meaning they arent used unless really necessary (a.k.a: in the woods).. so i dont think that's be that much of an issue...
  15. hey, i'd love a sticker as well.....am i considered a hard-core? but i dont mind even buying a sticker if the price is ok....
  16. hey! thats an expensive conversion! wowwwwww..... if this is just the cosmetics, i wonder how much the engien and othe rmechanical mods would cost.... wouldnt it be cheaper to buy an actual evo (maybe used) than go through all this?
  17. today i was going down Maya Avenue, when i saw a couple of cops having pulled up a Toyota Pick-up and pointing to the bumper on the pick-up..... it was one of those metal hardcore 4x4 bumpers... and from what i understood from what i was seeing, the issue was regarding the 'crash-guard' for the lights and grill that comes as part of the bumper.... so are those illegal now? that kinda bans a whole lot of 4x4s out there... including almost ALL the pick-ups and Prados in the SLMM.... as i remember correct, the law says that the crash guard cant be used if it is sticking out of the vehicle.. meaning, if a person is hit by this vehicle, the crash guard cant be the 1st thing to hit him....

  21. Guys, There’s always been beliefs that convertibles though fun to ride are hard to maintain on the long-run cos water tends to leek in through corners and causes a whole lot of rust… I’m thinking, convertibles have been around since well, pretty much the very first car, right? so wouldn’t manufactures have done something about it? and the same goes for sunroofs.. cos whenever people are buying a vehicle and are told 'it has a sunroof’ they tend to avoid it if they can…. Do these things really leak and cause that much rust for people to dislike them so much.. I’m not talking rust forming within a year or 2, but maybe in 4 or 5 when even rubber seals and beadings start to kind of harden and break due to the heat… cos i (or my father) has never had a car with a sunroof, so i dont know what its like in the long-run... What do you guys think?
  22. hehe... its a 300mm lens, with a 2x converter.. thats how you get 600mm... even with the converter, the auto focus works perfectly.. i've heard that autofocus becomes a prob with some SLRs & converters.. actually had the problem with my dad's previous cam (cannon EOS300- NOT digital).... though my dad says he'd rather buy a more powerful zoom lens than use the converter.. the prob is, the only lens we've found so far is a sigma with the EOS mount that goes upto 750mm but its like HUGE and not very practical for his wildlife photography... and is like 600,000 bucks, even if you buy it overseas... so sticking to the 300mm for now, untill lenses shrink down in size and PRICE.... by the way, as embarassed as i am to admit this, the races on the 18th will be my very first to attend... can someone give me some info on ticket prices and where i could get them etc... and race times also...thanks! and by th way, how do we recognize you guys there? i havent see any of you guys! heheheee!
  23. i'm not sure if i'll be able to go watch the races on sunday.... and if saturday is mostly qualifications, is it worth going to watch it? wont it be just single cars going around in turns? and going to katukurunda of no races isnt fun.... wont even be any nice scenes to take pictures of.... i'm thinking of borrwoing my Dad's Digital SLR... its a CANNON EOS 350D with a zoom lense (with converter) extending upto a 600mm zoom.... will the fancy cam, get me a media pass at the gate?
  24. ya... aparently that black 350Z was for sale at Aliance Finance or whatever place.... i think it was a chipped one and it was like 10.5 million if i remember correct... a freind of mine (amrit) went and even asked the price... amrit, whats hapening with that car?
  25. come on guys!! the rest of us would also like to know what this WOOSH car is!!!
