  1. In this case the previous owner can sell off is cut/bud vehicle to someone with the "original" CR. So going by your logic, even if you buy a vehicle with the original CR it could be a cut/bud (illegal) vehicle. So there's no solution is there? Like Don says we need a proper electronic system that stores the information. And if you link the system to the process of issuing Revenue Licenses, you can track and make sure all vehicles are in the system within a year.
  2. I dont normally pick on people on their English skills but if they talk shit about being so proficient in it, it should be called BS. Its a Sunday, so thought of maybe asking sylvi why he thinks this is the "Queen's English" Those were just the mistakes in his English. The factual inaccuracies are a whole different story (for example him being asked to get out of AutoLanka due to financial reasons or him advising VVTi to use a Rs.200 bottle of braso as opposed to his Rs.15,000 special polish). Btw, so Sylvi you pay your polisher Rs.5000 a day? You expect us to believe that?
  3. Hey Sylvi! stop lying!! THIS is clear evidence of your blatant lies. It makes us wonder if all these history lessons are lies too..
  4. There's no point trying to educate him dude.. Accordingly to his own admission, he speaks the Queen's English cos he was born with wealth to last generation, while the rest of us are 3rd class people who dont know to speak english.
  5. I'm a fcukng 100% accurate prophet!! Please form a line to get my view on the 2nd hand car market in 6 months!

Wait were you the guy who allegedly had owned an R1 or R6 which he let his friends use like the village prostitute? Then ended up looking for a cheap trail bike for his brother and a 4DR5 for his dad etc etc...

ohh jeez jangi dingi, you dont have to start getting all emo.. To be honest, I dont remember picking on you before. But I admit, when I smell BS I point it out... So if you were picked on 2 instances did you ever thing it could be something wrong with YOU and not the people picking on you? OK lets get this straight, your stand is that you were not the person who advertised parts similar to those that you received, using your name and your phone number?

    1. So you dont trust a guy to watch some 2nd hand bike parts, but you trust him enough to watch your whole house and whatever valuables in it? 2. You go online post your phone number, your NIC number and log onto a single identifiable location on the internet. And you're off the grid you say? 3. You "badly need feedback" on a car modification (which you were half hearted to begin with and gave up in a few days)? Yes I have no idea what you're putting up with. Why dont you enlighten us. And if you have to ask for the benefit you would get by selling for money what you got for free, you're parents n teacher did a sh!tty job preparing you for life.

Answer to your question; Simple. You were stupid enough to think that once you took down your advert it would be gone and you could be cocky about it. You probably didn't foresee google caching it. Did you think Dialog was as dumb as you to just give out customer information to every Tom Dick and Harry that calls in with a phone number n a NIC number? And boy, you need to go learn what identity theft means. Its not something that a thief breaks into your house and runs away with. It doesnt matter where you are for your identity to be stolen.

ooooo la la.. This plot is getting even thicker... So Dingy, should we call YOU on 0772308757 and verify if the parts are with you, or should we call "Charith" on 0772308757 and see if the parts are for sale?
  11. Yep. In SG you need a 90% pass for cars and a 95% pass for motorcycles on the written paper. And again not stopping at a stop sign, letting your left foot touch the ground (bikes), your foot or tyre touching the kurb etc are immediate failures.. And on a typical session (for motorcycles) only about 20-30% pass. And they are so anal about checking your blindspot during the mandatory lessons, that it becomes so natural you. I still do it subconsciously. What SL lacks is proper 'training' and 'testing' when issuing a Driving license. The results will take a few years to show, but that's whats known as long term planning, a term that's alien to sri lankans.

Your story has so many holes its leaking credibility faster than you're adding. Worst is that you have access to the internet, but not a telephone. If you can allegedly advertise the parts online (or access autolanka for that matter), it means you have access to the internet. Meaning the buyer can contact you. So, you just tell him to go look at part ABC at your address, and if he likes it leave Rs.XXX with the person watching the house.

+1. Yes.. exactly what I was typing too at the same time as you

    1) Yes you may not be in colombo, but if you say that its possible for us to go to your house and look at the bike, why cant someone goto your house and buy the parts? 2) You shouldnt be shouting out your NIC like that. It would be in your best interest to remove it. I did so when quoting you. 3) Well, its ur opinion that if you need to sell it you dont need to advertise. But some people advertise stuff just to get an idea of what the market value of an item is.. No-one accused you of having SOLD it.. just attempting to sell it as parts.. Don't mix the two. Stay calm and address just the relevant issues.. Well, at end of the day, the story is that you started off with YOUR bike which needed some parts.. but then you got a free second bike, and you bought a book for it. And now you have restored (or in the process of doing so) not one but 2 bikes.. So rather than invite the whole Autolanka community to your house for tea and to look at your bike, just share your restoration story/thread with us.. Leaving the drama aside, there ARE people who are interested in seeing your bike restoration thread.
  15. I bet a 1000 bucks Sylvi's response is going to be: Dear Hon. Joint Modorator, You have told me to stay on topic. I was giving a brief history of the motor industry in ceylon. I will stay on topic. Sylvi Wijesinghe. <<hiken puna>>
  16. +1 to peri's point. I too was wondeinf ig it was a question or a statement. I would think that the engine number would be a hint as to if its a STi engine or not. And doing the conversion at Senok will also give you an added benefit when it comes to selling the car some day, cos conversions arent the easiest to palm off unless it was done properly, and Senok has a decent reputation so far

Of course. The reason I'm following this thread is purely for its plot, the drama and the opportunity to pass condescending judgement at the end of it all. But I do look forward to seeing how this bike is resurrected btw

So he gave almost a complete bike.. wow! That's mighty generous of him! He doesnt sound like he needs to be throwing around false allegations.. This thread is awesome. It's like one of those movies where you cant decide who the good guy is and who the bad guy is..

Hmm, well since the sh!t has hit the fan already, maybe it would be simpler if dingy just tells us what parts he got from rachitha and what he did with the parts that were on the bike (which were replaced with rachitha's). Neither of dingy nor rachitha are obligated to, but since it's become a matter of public concern a full disclosure of the parts in question and their current whereabouts might be helpful.. PS: Dingy, dont be demoralized by this (alleged) false accusations. In the end the truth shall prevail! But in the meantime there's a number of us who are interested in seeing your bike restoration. So do start that thread as soon as you can find the time! Thanks!

Soo peri, your stroke is having Chandrika bending over eh? Not judgement here.. Whatever helps your stroking bro...

Ahh so the plot thickens. So Dingy, lets get this straight..did rachitha give you a carb in the first place? but you sold a carb to someone.. then your mechanic sold another carb to a lahiru... Am I right?
  22. See, it all depends on what you want in the end.. if you want the joy of designing something or dabbling with electronics then mensoft's way is the way to go. I dont know about my purity or impurity but to someone who just wants to know hos battery voltage this makes more practical sense. $2 on ebay is cheaper than spending on petrol+parking and my time to goto petah to buy the same thing for Rs.50. Lets just hope the history teacher with his lecture on 50 years of experience and the "dark age" doesnt start off
  23. So basically you're question parameters are already subjective and restrictive based on your opinion.. "Fast cornering and breaking" are very "real driving conditions" too.. You basically want to hear the words corolla, sunny, civic, lancer allion etc etc. for your "real" lifestyle...and if "city traffic, tight parking, spot holes, narrow roads with bends etc." is challenging you should just take a three-wheeler..
  24. Nice project if you want to try it out some DIY yourself, but you're looking to get something to actually tell your your battery voltage, you can get something like this off ebay for a few dollars (including shipping). I got a waterproof one for my motorcycle, but havent gotten around to hook it up yet..

Question is why do you want to use a a72 to begin with? That car is fundamentally wrong if you want to get modern day "Evo engine" performance.
