I have heard that the GDI engine is a faiure, and the GDI pump (what I heard) fails after certain milage. Any truth in it?

Hi guys, I'm looking to buy a Pajero Exceed (1992) tdi, 2.5L. Odometer says it has done about 14 0000km but I doubt it. The vehicle is having FZ plates because it has been registered in 2006 taken from a customs auction. I have been using a petrol car and am totally new to diesel engines. What should I look for when I buy the jeep, and what should I expect after buying in terms of maintenance. Appreciate your comments very much. Thanks in advance.
