Mazda, Subaru, to some extent Honda (except hybrids and new CRV) were bought by people who knows thing or two about cars. They tend to take care of the vehicle and most of them are maintained by the agents. With the current vehicle market best deals are used are which are around 4-5 years old. Those who bought at Rs. 7-8 Mn. are disposing them at more or less same price

CIF approx Rs. 4.5 Mn., Customs duty Rs. 12.7 Mn., Luxury tax Rs. 4.5 Mn.(approx), Chargers around Rs. 800K less concession on the permit (Rs. 3.5 Mn.) Approximate price for the permit Rs. 18.9 Mn.

Yes, thought you were going to import on your permit
-
you will not be able to get the Mazda 6 for that budget Mazda 3 will be within your budget
-
You should be able to find a decent Premio for that price. Buy from the 1st owner, many came as zero mileage on permits and were used by the permit holders. All documentation must, service records, emission test this will verify the mileage Don't go looking for a 40-50K car which will be difficult to find, around 100k will be the average for a 2013 Since you're will be doing less than 5-6k for a year even after 4-5 years your car will have a decent mileage. I would also suggest a Mazda 3/6 or a Honda Civic which will also fall within your budget

How much of driving you do on weekends, types of roads and traffic conditions Getting a hybrid to do marginal running may not be worthwhile.

This has been discussed several times, please search Octane rating has nothing to do with quality, you can get crappy 95 too Your car is designed to run on regular which is 92, pumping 95 will give you no advantage unless you want to burn your cash

Only solution is to cover the garage (air tight) If you use a good wax removing dust with a quick wash will be easy as RWD mentioned Do not recommend covering specially black as it will mark the paint

What's the best battery to be used for a Wagon R
kush replied to Malee's topic in General Automotive
start stop battery is under the seat, this refers to the normal battery in the engine compartment (I hope) Any brand should be ok as long as the capacity and the size fits -
Well not in my case it was two trips per day 45-50 km each way on urban and highway. Any my car was not expose to any of the severe conditions as per owners manual. I had to get it serviced every other month which was a pain. When i inquired about this no body gave me a reasonable explanation needless to say I stuck for their recommendation as i did not want to have issues with my warranty which was one of the reasons i went for this particular vehicle. Wagon R has oil change every 10k km irrespective of driving conditions (agents schedule)

Made in Korea, Hyundai i10 is made in India

Buying a 2004 Alto 1.1 (ABS/Air bags) in 2019
kush replied to ThilinaBa's topic in General Automotive
Well you get additional features (ABS, air bags, front power windows) and a better engine than the local model Down side is it is not the mainstream model in SL so sourcing some parts unique to the car may be difficult. If you get it for Rs. 1.1 Mn. it is around Rs. 200-300 k less You will have to decide based on your personal circumstances. -
Take ages to service the car, I generally give in the morning and pick up in the evening, Prices are reasonable, they require oil change every 5000 km / 6 months although book says 10000km / 1 year Accident repairs are costly make sure you have good insurance.

Apart from ABS you get better seat material, 3 adjustable head rests with three point seat belts for three rear passengers, alloy wheels and audio controls in the steering. I had the same dilemma when i brought the car but opted to ABS as i did not want to compromise on safety.

Are you buying for cash, if so you may be able to get it for around Rs. 1.1 Mn. -
What is the vehicle

We are currently running both cars brought brand new from agents. As iRage mentioned they are two different cars Kia has a more bigger feel than the size suggest, rides, handles much better. Comfortable and very predictable handling you can throw the car around corners without any drama. Very stable at high speed. Only down side is since the car has very good dynamics you tend to drive fast and as a result fuel economy suffers expect 10kmpl city 15kmpl urban. If you go for the highest grade you will get 2 air bags and ABS, no climate control so a/c will be a pain to control Wagon R has more space inside due to its shape and boot and rear seat space and be adjusted which is a plus. Engine is a pain if you want to drive little spiritedly and very loud (little wheezy brat). Not stable after 80kmph, can get caught in cross winds. Will do 14kmpl city 18-20 kmpl urban 2 air bags, ABS, stability control (must in this due to awful handling) To sum it up I love the Kia, my wife and kids the WagonR

You need to get down a brand new or a within one year old to get the maximum tax advantage. Ensure all documents state that the motor power is 100KW, recommend you get a clarification from customs that what rate it will be taxed 50KW to =< 100KW is @ Rs. 10,000 per KW if this is the case your duty will be Rs. 1.0 Mn. Price in UK around GBP 26,000/- if you can get the VAT refund organized it will be GBP 21,667 plus shipping and other costs whic will be around GBP 1,500- 2,000 total CIF approximately Rs. 5.6 Mn. Make sure CIF is less than Rs. 6.0 Mn. otherwise you will have to pay additional 60% luxury tax on CIF This brings the total up to Rs. 6.6 Mn. No agent support, no warranty personally I do not recommend this as you could and also will end up loosing your money. Hope you're planning to keep this for a long time as you will not be able to sell this car.

Buying a 2004 Alto 1.1 (ABS/Air bags) in 2019
kush replied to ThilinaBa's topic in General Automotive
Car seems to be at a sale so most probably clocked. It has the magic mileage of less than 100k km Given the fact that local version is advertised around Rs. 1.4 Mn, transaction may be taking around Rs. 1.2 Mn. Use the negatives mentioned by others to bargain. Are they asking for Rs. 1.2 Mn. or your offer -
Buying a 2004 Alto 1.1 (ABS/Air bags) in 2019
kush replied to ThilinaBa's topic in General Automotive
If the car is in good condition should be ok. mechanical issues should be easy to rectify and straight forward. Check for rust, thoroughly it may be patched up. Do not pay anything more if it is not the mainstream model imported by agent. -
Sad my SUV with twice the engine does much better on fuel very much in highway

I believe you need specialized equipment to access the control module and re-program the key to the specific car.

Chassis Number and Country of Origin not tallying
kush replied to agent47's question in Car Buying Information
I guess this is the going price for a good condition car, get it thoroughly checked for mechanical condition and any major accident repairs -
Chassis Number and Country of Origin not tallying
kush replied to agent47's question in Car Buying Information
get the car inspected they can check the genuineness of the mileage too and for any accident damages As the car is pretty old and most of the Singapore imported were clocked by the sales guy. your current owner may be innocent not knowing his car was clocked
