  1. Specs on the same vehicle for different markets will differ, this is for Kia Picanto Owners Manual Gasoline engine Unleaded For Europe For the optimal vehicle performance, we recommend you use unleaded gasoline which has an octane rating of RON (Research Octane Number) 95 / AKI (Anti Knock Index) 91 or higher. (Do not use methanol blended fuels) You may use unleaded gasoline with an octane rating of RON 91~94 / AKI 87~90 but it may result in slight performance reduction of the vehicle. Except Europe Your new Kia vehicle is designed to use only unleaded fuel having an Octane Rating of RON (Research Octane Number) 91 / AKI (Anti-Knock Index) 87 or higher. (Do not use methanol blended fuels) Your new vehicle is designed to obtain maximum performance with UNLEADED FUEL, as well as minimize exhaust emissions and spark plug fouling.
  2. Feel your pain 1000-1500 extra for each topup
  3. Are you mad at these prices, not on daily runners Has a Euro to which I'm compelled to
  4. 1500cc 4A91 Company recommended 95, according to the book it will run with 92 with slight power / economy drop There was a shortage in 95 and i had no option but to pump 92 (or 91 at the time) did not notice any power or economy drop and as 95 was not available commonly as now decided to stick to 92. Had no issues with knocking, throttle body carbon which was common for this model
  5. Price gap between the two has become ridicules over 23% price difference will be way above any reduction in kmpl if at all. Unless there could be potential damage that could be caused due to low octane fuel
  6. Axio, not much difference between the x and x - limited, G will have better trim, climate control, rev counter etc.. 240 too old
  7. Not noticed any significant performance or economy benefit in Corolla 141, Lancer EX, Suzuki Swift 2008, CRV 2.0L, Honda Fit GP5, Kia Picanto 2017, Wagon R FZ 2018
  8. With recent price revision of fuel it is obvious that the government is trying to maximize revenue from 95 petrol and super diesel Although there is a requirement on modern diesel vehicles for super diesel due to high Sulfur content on normal diesel that could potentially damage the vehicle majority of vehicles which are running on 95 are happy to run on 92. Euros or Euro spec imports may need 95 however most of the JDMs are designed to run on 92 and above. 92 95 Price 129 159 Kmpl 10 10 Km per month 1000 1000 Fuel Cost 12,900 15,900 Saving 3,000 Annual Saving 36,000

    Toyota 141

Runs on 92 no issues (10 years, 70K km)
  10. 107 has two live axels if I remember correct
  11. You might end up paying more than the cost of the vehicle for the engine Engine bay may not be able to accommodate a V8
  12. I was never there when they did the service as i expected them to do a proper job being the agents. Anyway 1st two years car was under warranty and i did not want to take a chance servicing it elsewhere. I newer experienced any damages to the vehicle during 10 or more services I would have done with them, may be I was fortunate.
  13. My CRV was maintained by them for 5 Years (2013-2018) at their Maradana Center no complains, it is bit congested. Rates are reasonable, staff friendly and most importunately they completed the service at the time agreed.
  14. Best is to abolish all permits, take out ministry provided vehicles and give the ministers and politicians a fat vehicle allowance Rs. 250-400K / month and expected to run their own bloody vehicle. Then only they will realize the true picture of vehicle ownership.
  15. Looks as on top of the engine capacity tax, 100% on CIF for petrol cars Guess we will all be driving Allions / Axios
  16. I'm not too sure about bose in the car. They are good at home and when it comes to having small units. I have a 5.1 with 12 speakers in the car which is factory fit it is good but not great.
  17. Ordered a dash cam from A** E****** it came within 7 days from Singapore, normal post, value declared was actual @ US$ 49 all the details printed in the box. No duty
  18. Additional cost is not only for ABS it also includes, rear adjustable hear rests, audio controls in the steering, alloy wheels with better tires and if i can remember right better quality seat material for additional Rs. 200k or so. I was in the same dilemma one and a half years back when i opted to the full spec car as i did not want to compromise on the safety. At the same time my in personal experience having done over 33k km i have never noticed ABS kicking in, car has very progressive braking with good peddle feel. car is well planted to the road and is equipped with better tires than the cart wheels you get in kei cars. Does not have much power to get you into trouble. If your a experienced driver and driving is in city in dry conditions you could be ok without ABS.
  19. Gear box issues mainly due to the DCT not being able to cope with the traffic conditions and idiotic driving style. There are enough and more literature on how to drive and look after a DCT and if you follow them they could be as reliable as any other transmission.
  20. You will not be able to get a new one with your budget. Most of the newer Wagon which R available for sale is ex cabs where owners have realized that it is not viable to run a cab with a high lease payment and maintenance. You can see a JDM Alto which might fit your budget, same mechanical as Wagon R.
  21. get a quote fro the item from K*****a they can sea freight which will save some cost you will have to pay their commission and duty at standard rate. Door to door service no hassle. For personal items generally customs does not bother if comes as a gift. Recently i cleared some stuff which came through a friend in Canada. Three boxes stuff worth over Rs 120K paid Rs. 3650 duty (valued at Rs. 30K)
  22. What is your budget, you may be able to get a new one for couple of hundred thousand more
  23. Rear seats of the Monte, Prado or even the Land Cruiser was never known for being comfortable. And the due to ride height you get thrown all over the place when cornering. CRV, Rav 4, X trail are designed with more comfort in mind for the passengers and handles much better than off roads, but at the expense of marginal off road ability. (in fact useless in Sri Lankan context where we don't get snow) Two different vehicle classes with each there will be pluses and compromises You will need to decide with your requirements.
  24. Believe me cruise control is not much of use, unless in the expressway with light traffic. With idiots doing 80kmph in the center lane you will be in and out of cruise and i find it easier to drive with out. Only advantage i find is that you could keep to the legal speed as it is a pain driving at 100. Unless you are a frequent user of the highway don't bother. Check for other options like climate control, lumbar support on the seat, good quality sound system that will be more useful in your day to day drive.
  25. This is case when ever they come up with new gas i remember this was a issue when R134a came, it was crazy expensive compared to R12. But eventually prices will come down. Unfortunate these issues are cropping up early in life. This is why it is always advisable to go with tested technology or at least have the peace of mind with a proper agent warranty which you could fallback on. Just check on whether there were any recalls for this issue, even if your vehicle is not agent imported they may be able to help as they had to with the Vezel transmission issues.
