  1. To be honest, I didn't like the Motor show 2010. Its something like walking from Pamankada to Kohuwala by foot. It was the Companies chance to show off their brand new vehicles..no knowledge transferring or whatsoever.
  2. From what I've heard Cedia is the carb model. Thanks for this post. There were lot of information. Can anybody share the experience of Lancer CS2 fuel figures as well? I see the CS2 is bit hard to find but I guess its the more or less the same engine parts? I have driven a lancer CK1 (1300cc). Bit hard to accelerate on 3rd gear at low revs, but did very well on fuel (almost 14-15). And finally, I must say this. There aren't lot of cars that you can feel the reliability, comfort, sportiness and friendly on your purse. For sure, CK1 is one of them! I guess CS1 is like that as well?
  3. I love your reply
  4. Last week I had the same fine. Once the double line was over, I overtook a lorry. (I knew there were police, guys were flashing headlamps on myway, but I didn't know there was a damn zebra crossing. How would I know it? No board signs at least just before it) They said they can't fine it, instead it should direct to the court. But later agreed to a fine of 500/= for 'Weradi lesa issara kirima'. Because of a one brave guy..at least he might be a lawyer (In Anuradhapura district as I heard, correct me) we had a time that no highspeed was fined.. We need more people like that! But careful if u don't have any contacts related to police/ politicians. If not, its better to pay the fine, say f*ck off to them and leave. (Of course say it after u came back to the vehicle and shut the door )
  5. These guys only orders from ebay, we have to deal with the others like custom taxes, DOA issues etc. No warranty is provided.
  6. Where is this place mate? Do they have a website?
  7. thank you very much for all giving me those valuable feedback and i guess i have to think twice before go for a Serena and as you guys suggested there are better options like a townace or a Liteace suitable for my budget.
  8. it seems Serena is not a good option, but as Devinda said, it looks a spiffy vehicle, even though it has a bad image among the people. does any of you know that the availability of spare parts in srilanka for SERENA (Diesel )? Thanks in advance.
  9. as per my budget i i am planning to go for a Nissan serena number 59 or 252. i have no that much knowledge about automobiles. So could anyone please tell me pros and cons about this model and availability of the spare parts in srilanka? plus better options( vans ) for a budget below 1 million ?
  10. yes, a great ride there. Anyway, whats da default weel size of EG8? 14? I saw many ads which they say 'original 15 alloy weels', etc etc. Whats da story behind there?
  11. Thats y i like that
  12. Hi all, Thanks for all ur feedbacks. glad to hear that there r several EG8 guys from kalutara, panadura as well. As my first car, i'm gonna try the EG8. of course EK3 is a decent car, but if i go for that i hv to stay some time and find more money. anyway, is there places/ garages available at kalutara area for maintenances? Or do i hv to bring it to colombo? and kim, i'm looking for the option Ceres/Marino. But still feels like going for a EG8. MX one is da dual carb model of EG8 right? Which does less on fuel?
  13. Thanks for the quick reply velocity. U hav mentioned several good points. Glad to knw that one of mathugama mates in here. I saw a red eg8 there, wonder whether its da person. What u said is true, i might feel another car later. But for sure i'm gonna spend next 2 -3 years with this choice. At home, my father owns a cheryQQ which does well on fuel. But thats for home use and.. of course i'm 25 year old now so looking for a little bit sporty looking car. EG8 is a car which i liked most from my childhood, thats y i'm looking forward to that. The thing i'm mostly afraid of is the cost for spare parts. According to my calculations I will be able to manage my fuel cost. But i do not hv much clear idea when it comes to fuel+spare parts. And most of my friends who owns EGs and EKs does not travel as much as i am. (some of them kept their cars in da garage and comes by bus )
  14. Hi all, This is my first post at AL I read most of the posts related to eg8(and ek3) before starting the thread. I'm planning to buy an EG8 and this will be my first car. Heard that Ek3 does well in fuel than EG8, but i love da look of EG8. As a daily runner, (at least 3 days in a week) I will hav to run around 110KMs daily(up and down from matugama to bamba) so altogether I hv to manage a high amount of fuel cost (which i cannot claim from my company). I heard that honda parts are little bit expensive at stafford, but u guys mentioned there r some local dealers as wel. So I need to knw about my option from u guys who are experts. Is an EG8 a good car for a daily runner who runs more distance like me? How about maintaining expenses? parts, etc. How about the fuel? Will I be able to manage and EG8 wit a decent cost as a daily runner? Any advice/help is appriciated! Thanks in Advance!
