Hi, I have a toyota starlet reflect auto. It does around 9-10km/l in colombo. I usually drive at traffic times, and a bit fast driving... By the way guys, Is this normal for a starlet reflect, I have heard some ppl bragging about 12kml in colombo!

This may be irrelevant to you guys... I have heard toyota CE 110 engine requires complete overhaul after running for 100,000 odd kms... I have no idea about the premio engine durability... May be it's a general thingy... But better check for reliability same time u r looking for economy

thanks jayathu... there is a small leak in the radiator. Very minor one. But the leak is at the top (head) . Might have to replace it.

I am also looking for a garage to fix my radiator... Do you guys know any place that do good radiator jobs (prefferably from bamba area) ? many ppl told me about Lionel Radiors... Is it actually a repairing place? if so does any of u all know where it is located?

hm...... went to a garage today... those guys said it's washers in main pump... costed me over 10K ... hopefully things wil be OK now

Cool scene... I would come with my friends every week as long as it is affordable! As many of guys rightly pointed out - If it is affordable, many ppl wil come for sure

I changed my breakoil 6 months back. It was in good colour when i checked

Yeah - I was going v.slow at that moment... Just turning to the galle road. (I had pumped petrol few mins before tht) . The break pedal just went down without stopping! - it was just like pushing the accelerator - for a second i thought i am actually pressing the accelerator... However, I later noticed that I hadn't put enough water for the coolent. Could that had been related to this?

Yeah i know... v. dangerous Any good place I can go? I went to two places place 1 : That guy without removing a nut says "we have to remove some entire break kit" place 2 : This guy runs the car, hit the break and says "It's a random issue. If it comes again, bring it to me. It will most probably not come again. Do not worry" I found listening the these mechanics v.funny. I need to goto a place where there is one or two good guys. Atleast someone who knows the things

Hm, my car is auto gear... so shifting gears wouldn't do... Are u guyz sure tht this is something trivial like that? I was terrified when i got it!!! I usually drive at above avg speeds, and fortunately when i came across this problem, I had just pumped petrol and putting my car slowly from the petrol shed to the gall road. If I had come-across this while i was normally driving - god knows wht would hav happend! I asked one mechanic, he said that the reason could be a problem with the washers. Seems like he wanna blindly replace the "break kit". I am not interested in blindly replacing something - i wanna find the exact problem, coz it's quite dangerous to have even a random issue like this

I ran across a very strange problem. All of a sudden, my breaks stopped working (i have a starlet-reflect). I was able to push the break paddles to the very bottom - with no result. I managed to stop the car, and immediately checked breakoil - i had enough oil... Then I started the car - breaks were back on! Any idea what's wrong? know a good garage for these type of work?

Hi guys... I went to the P*la Auto Electricals last Friday. As most of you guys said, they were good at figuring out the issue. the issue was when i switch on the head-lights - both filaments (both dim and head) were lighting! I am v. pleased they figured it out and fixed. But the cost!!! - it cost me over 6k for that. It included 2.2k worth of goods purchases (bulbls, and a small circuit etc) , 1k for light cleaning, and a staggering 3k of service charge! I personally believe 3k of service charge is way over the normal price... so the bug is fixed. but with a considerably high cost... I won't recommend this place unless nobody else can fix it.

I didn't replace the holders. Basically didn't do any changes. But the previous owner may have done, - coz from the day I got my car, I have been having this issue. (for 4 months! - i know i am so bad, still couldn't get this thing fixed. just didn't have time, work + studies ) Thanks for advice mahcan. I will somehow find time and go whithin next two weeks. I'll keep update the forum as soon as i find the solution...

I read few news articles that Ssang yong is about to close down... Or is it already close down? We hav so many SSang Yong SUVs down in SL. I hope that there won't be a spare part issues. In SL, we use vehicles for decades, and hopefully Micro is able to provide spare parts.

Thanks everyone for all the replies... I will try Pala soon... Seems like it's a good place. About the quality of the bulbs i used - Each bulb actually costed me around 600, and they said that they are v.good. I took this to few electrical places, none of them could really figure out the issue. This problems comes in both sides, however - the effect is more on the passenger side (i have replaced more bulbs in passenger side). i wil keep u guys updated

My head light bulbs very frequently - like once in two weeks!!! - especially at the passenger side. I took to few places, but none of them could figure out... 1. any ideas wht this happens (in case any of u have come across this)? 2. do u guys know any good vehicle electrical place somewhere in bamba, nugegoda, colepitty, kirolapona etc. thanks in advance
