  1. personally i would prefer the pajero as a friend of mine has one in mint condition and it has not given any problems. it is also more comfortable than the trooper. however if you are looking for a vehicle for yourself i would recommend a diesel hi lux single cab it the same cost or if money is no option a used 166.... for a little more $$$
  2. Air Filter box Air flow sensor Door Handle Long story, Im currently using a K&N cone filter but it doesnt seem to be working out as that has caused the MAF sensor to pack up so I want to replace everything before it does damage to the engine. ------------------------------------------- Noted AMG will try them.
  3. Hey Guys, Was wondering what the cheapest mode of freight (and the name of the forwarder) to bring down a few small car parts from the UK is? The value of the car parts is about 60 quid. Thanks
  4. thx machan... can you please email me a phone # - dominicgwg@gmail.com
  5. Hi Guys, Does anyone know where I can get parts locally for a BMW (other than the agent or Milroy)? Thanks,

  7. Hi guys, I was just wondering if any of you have come across this before. I have a 320i 92 model and every now and then (especially when the a/c is on) the rev counter begins to hunt... ie from 1000rpm to 2000 and back to 1000. it keeps happening quite frequently. I thought the issue would be the airflow sensor and I replaced it. The car peforms much better but the problem hasnt stopped. Does anyone have an idea as to what this could be? Right now Im thinking a hose leak/loose hose from one of the hoses going into the engine letting in extra air??? Any help would be appreciated...
  8. Awesome wheels, I agree with DON, try to get the original CD changer for the car. The only thing is it will set you back a couple of hundred Euros at least. They wanted 600 for the CD changer in my BM.

  10. Hi Please mail the pics to dominicgwg@gmail.com thanks
  11. I saw 2 for sale last week advertised on the office intranet..... they wanted 1,435 and 1.5 mil respectively. Both would have given for 1.4 tho. both were 99, 1 liter Vitz's.
  12. Further to some of the points raised in this thread, the following article was in todays (15th May) Daily News and the author raises quite a few valied points as most/all of you in this thread have done as well. http://www.dailynews.lk/2007/05/15/fea01.asp Unfortunately however, the people that are being appointed to positions that can do something about this mess are corrupt, stupid and just lack basic common sense in order to do anything. This seems to be the legacy of Sri Lankan Politics.
  13. I saw an opel astra advertised somewhere recently (YOM 96)...it had very low mileage I think the owner wanted something like 6 Lakhs for it if im not mistaken. Im sorry but I cant advise on maintainence and such for an opel but its likely to be more than a jap car. ------------------------------------------------------------ Milindu machan can you drop me a line (click my name to open my profile and get my email as im not sure I can post it) need to run something by you. thanks ------------------------------------------
  14. A friend of my dads bought a 301- ML 320 for 4.5 mil recently.... I think the transaction was between friends tho... it had 45 k or 65 k on the clock.
  15. The X type is the worst Jag ever made. Despite the E46 being common I think the 2002 is the facelifted one and thats a little less common (esp since its petrol). Expect to pay around 4.2 for the BMW. Also have a look at the Audi A4 (2003), you may be able to get one thats in that range.... or even a Sing Rx-8 if you want something rare. But from what you've said I'd go for the BMW.
  16. Ive not heard of anything like that but it sounds too good be true. If that was the case then they may as well scrap the duty system cause everyone will be getting partial tax free permits. If it is true it would be awesome tho
  17. Thanks dude. Wont be necessary. Thats too expensive for me..... I must admit Im a big fan of the Punto though.....mainly because of the ferrari front.
  18. A Case for Drinking More Beer A herd of buffalo can move only as fast as the slowest buffalo, and when the herd is hunted, the slowest and weakest ones at the back are killed first. This natural selection is good for the herd as a whole because the general speed and health of the whole group keeps improving by the regular culling of the weakest members. In much the same way, the human brain can only operate as fast as the slowest brain cells. Excessive intake of alcohol, we all know, kills brain cells, but naturally it attacks the slowest and weakest brain cells first. In this way, regular consumption of beer eliminates the weaker brain cells, making the brain a faster and more efficient machine. That's why you always feel smarter after a few beers. Shane Keith Warne Match Report 2nd Ashes Test Day 5 of the second test. We're 1 nil up and If I was playing for England today I would be thinking... slow and steady lads, slow and steady. But I'm not thank god and his son Jesus Christ, I'm Australian, and I've woken up with a horn that a dog couldn't chew, and I'm not sure if it's because I can't wait to get that cherry in my hand and get stuck into the soap dodgers... or if it hasn't gone down since phone sex with Rianna Ponting last night. Anyway, no one in my room to stick it in, no time to get on the text messages, so I best jump in the David Gower and work up a nice lather and give the cleaner some work to do on the tiles. Hot breakfast this morning, quite by accident. Put the lit end of the ciggie into my gob while changing hands to down an Iced Coffee. Pup Clarke thought it was a hell of a joke until I told him I used his poofy white skivvy to mop up after a phone conversation with his sister last night. All the boys are full of beans this morning though at breaky. Pigeon was telling everyone the odds he'd got for us to win this morning, and how he's whacked all the money he won on McGilla not being selected, straight on us. Prick could have shared his bookie with me, I happen to think we'll get up today too. Particularly with the team they've got on the park. Giles couldn't turn a steak into shit. Jones couldn't keep a farking secret, or buy a run. "Bell end" wouldn't know what I was chucking at him, in fact Kay Pee and that bloke with the stupid name that doesn't usually get a game are there only hope. Arrive at the ground and while the rest of them are keen to get into the nets for a warm up, I've got plans to test out the Adelaide sewage system by sending one of the biggest turd Adelaide has ever seen into it. I'm only 15 minutes into this fine little session, not even up the centrefold spread yet, when I hear a muffled voice talking about the history of test cricket and how if you look back, the chances of Australia getting a win are so remote it's not worth considering, and how England just need to go steady, nothing silly needs to be done, a draw here will do just fine with 3 tests still to go, maybe we can wear down an ageing aussie side... then, along with that monster turd I was talking about, the penny has dropped... I'm in the wrong farking change room, and I'm listening to Freddy Flintstone give his pre match "inspiring" speech.... note to self, NEVER complain about punters speeches again. So with the knowledge that we now had the game in the bag, out we trot to the centre. I've grabbed the new ball and told punter I'll sort this lot out.. punters told me to pull my stupid head in and wait till I'm told.... this is what happens when you give a short man from Tasmania a bit of authority, he tries to make you pay for all the inbreeding jokes ever created. Still, I'll bide my time, we've got all day. 10 minutes into session 1 and punter can't even look at me when he throws me the rock... of course I let him know he's made the first good call for the game, and I've asked him to trot down to fine leg please.. even he laughed at that one while jogging to first slip. An hour or so later and I'm well on the way to completely stripping any sense of pride the unwashed have built in the past 4 days. Strauss was easy, nice catch by Mr. Cricket by the way, this bloke is so good to me, and the team for that matter, I almost feel guilty about pegging his new girlfriend. Bell "end" run out by me, even when getting run out this poor bastard has my name next to his in the wicket column.... Kay Pee, I enjoyed this one, certainly wiped the stupid smile from his south african dial.....Giles, from one spinner to one that isn't, this was a forgettable one..... and then Hoggard, felt sorry for this poor prick, I've never seen anyone this ugly before, I can see why he grows that hair. So that's that... we had 168 to knock off in the final session, which was always going to happen. 2-0 to us, punter named man of the match, but we all know I deserved it. Beers will flow in our rooms, tears will flow in theirs. The Ashes are back, and thank god they didn't have them for long enough for anyone to realise! Love to your missus SK Warne.
  19. Ripper machan whats the starting price for the Punto ? the 1.4 ltr basic options ? Also would u happen to knowthe starting price of the Panda ?
  20. You might get a 300 - 301 - 1.6 ltr Vitara or an old Rav for that amount..... if you're very lucky. If you can up the budget a bit it would help. Im not sure of your needs but the TATA or Mahindra single cab would be a good buy at 1 mil all up.
  21. Hi DCL, The first bit of help I can give you is not to import a vios on a permit ! Thats like trading a gold brick for a medallion. Secondly, Vios's are Singapore cars (mainly taxicabs)....ie most of the ones if not all you see on the road. If you are dead set on a Vios, perhaps placing a special order through one of the better car sale places might work however I would not be able to think of a greater waste of time, money or permit on a Vios. If I were in your situ I'd convince my mom to get a diesel jeep on that permit (one of the jeeps mentioned on this thread)... perhaps use it a bit and sell it at a competitive price and then you can probably get 5 Vios's one in every colour for the working week. On a more serious topic, check out the new Corolla Toyota Lanka has got. I heard they were getting the diesel for permit holders.
  22. I saw 2 diesel Grand Cherokees next to each other outside JAIC yesterday. You're right, one was a minister cos there was a LR complete with waving monkeys parked next to it. I cannot for the life of me figure out why they were waving when the vehicle was parked. @S_N sent you a mail. Sorry for the delay.

    Audi A4

Yeah thats my first name and the 4th Dominic I know. I'd say they would go for five or so. I reckon the current A4 gives the 3 series a very good run for its money. The Audi feels more solid. Its a great car. Keep in mind Audi does not have re-sale in this country tho... so its a good alternative to say a C Class.

    Audi A4

I think there was a 02-03 one for about 5.8 mil for sale recently. it probably was one of the first of the new models... H seris nos.
