  1. Hey 👋 @matroska Actually I have thought about Mazda 6. (also honda Accord) Car looks great and spacious. It seems a not a common vehicle and I do not have knowledge about common issues or parts availability of the car. I was a bit hesitant because of that. Do you know any information like reliability, hybrid issues of the vehicle? 1.5 Civic sedans seems a possible option too. Could you please share model and year of it? TIA!
  2. I replaced my gearbox about six months ago, and it’s been running fine since then. I’m just a bit concerned about what could come up over time. The only issue I’ve noticed is a noise during cold starts, it goes away for subsequent starts after engine warms up. But when engine gets colder I can notice the sound again. Could that be the timing chain? My other options are Toyota CHR (but not sure about the space. I haven't driven one) and Toyota Camry and Mitsubishi Eclipse. Yeah, I’ll need to think this through a bit more, but I wanted to hear what others think as well. Thanks a lot for the insights.
  3. @iRage Thank you for the response! Yeah with 14M budget i'm in the no man's land when it comes to good options 😂 I am also interested in Civic Sedan and there are listings for that around that range. What do you think about that vehicle? Any major problems / the things I should know of?
  4. Hi All 👋, I’m planning to sell my current car (2008 Allion 260 1.8). It has served me well, but it’s getting old and I want to move on.Budget is up to 14M. Long-term, I’d ideally go for Harrier / CR-V, but that’s out of reach right now. So I’m looking for something to use for the next ~2 years and resell without too much pain. I tried Toyota Raize already – front shoulder room and legroom felt tight for me. (I’m 6’1”). So space matters. Priorities: 1. Reliability 2.Safety 3.Comfort (I’m not concerned about squeezing maximum fuel economy.) I like cars like Camry I’m unsure about: Resale in our market after 2 years Known maintenance issues / cost of ownership here So my main question is: In the 12–14M range, what are the best options that offer good space, ride comfort, and won’t be a nightmare to maintain or resell later (car or suv)? Also it seems a new vehicle will depreciate more than a used one in first few years. What do you think? Would appreciate your feedback! Thank you.
  5. @Hyaenidae Thank you very much!
  6. Thanks a lot, @iRage @Ruslan I was curious about how to find these codes and part numbers. As iRage mentioned, I managed to find some EPC site. Lately I’ve been looking for a reconditioned K311, but no luck so far. They seem a lot less common than the K310. I know there’s a risk with reconditioned ones too, but it feels like the better option right now since it’s already been repaired twice. If you know any place I can check, let me know.
  7. Thank you! How do you find these part numbers? Is there any website?
  8. I checked mine and it’s a gearbox issue. It’s a common CVT problem in Allion and Premio models. I’ll need to replace the unit since it can’t be repaired. Not all power loss issues are due to the gearbox. It's better to get checked.
  9. Thank you so much for your detailed response 🙏 I’m planning to keep the car until around 2027. I’ll look for a replacement K311 gearbox, but going for a brand-new one at around 1.5M is a bit out of my budget. Worst case, if I go with a K310 instead, will it negatively affect the engine or fuel efficiency? Right now, I’m getting around 12 km/l outstation and 10 km/l in the city. From what I’ve heard, the K310 might actually make it feel a bit sportier 😂
  10. Hi everyone 👋 I’m looking for some advice regarding a gearbox issue in my Toyota Allion 260 (2008, A18 – ZRT260). Vehicle History: I bought the car in 2023. A few months in, I noticed an unusual noise from the gearbox. The car drives normally when first started, but after a few kilometers, the noise appears—especially under higher RPMs and when going uphill. There were no initial pulling power issues, but I did notice occasional jerkiness when accelerating at lower speeds. I got it checked in Pannipitiya, and the technician said the gearbox had been previously repaired. We repaired the gearbox and changed the oil. The noise stopped for a few months but eventually returned. I decided to use the car with noice anyways. I continued using the car without major issues until recently. Now, there’s a serious problem, sudden loss of pulling power. The car won’t go above 40 -50 km/h even with full throttle, and RPM just climbs. It also struggles badly on hills. If I let the car cool and restart, it works for a short while before the issue returns. My Questions: 1. Can anyone recommend a reliable place to properly check and diagnose this issue? 2. Since I’ve already repaired the gearbox twice, is it worth trying to repair it again? 3. If I go for a gearbox replacement, are parts available for the A18 model? Can I use a gearbox from the A15 model instead? Thanks in advance for your support and advice! 🙏
  11. Hello guys, This is my first question in AL. I have recently bought an Allion 260 (A18) and today it showed engine light in dashboard. Milage is around 160K. Can someone let me know possible causes for the issue? What steps need to diagnose the issue? Is it safe to drive while Engine bulb On? Please see the attachment for the picture. Thanks for the help.
