I have been recommended a brand called w*ga (12-15k I think) and I have seen many security camera shops selling for 4-6k. Does anyone have any experience with them ? I am considering renting out the car occasionally to people that I think can be trusted but wanted to be safe.

Hi everyone, I am thinking of renting out our car that is not used daily for some extra income. I don’t plan to do this as a main business rather to cover expenses and some additional income. Any places that you can trust ? ( I know good places don’t offer the best prices) vehicle I have sold my previous car and considering between Wagon R/Axia(hatchback)/Fronx. ( I am open to suggestions). i would like to hear about recommendations/advice/stories. thanks

Yeah. I knew that they were Indian. But the KIAs were the least Indian feeling of the bunch. VW does not have an agent but the place most importers provide a warranty is Id*al Pr*mi*r with partnership with c******o (first year insurance included without additional payment) and can be extended to 5 years given you stay with c******o. but recently I found out from another european car owner that their quality has gone down. So not I am not sure. Given everything I kinda wanna go with F10 BMW 5series (523i, 528i,520i,520d). What do you think ?

Yes the funky features are nice to try once and show off to people (the voice commands all have a slight indian accent to it). But I don’t have any use for it. Even the sunroof seems like a trouble in waiting but its included in the mid or higher spec versions and not optional. The ADAS might be useful on the highway and 360 camera is useful for me daily because i live on a narrow lane with two tight turns. The primary reason I started looking into the Indian assembled vehicles was because of the ventilated seats. Do you recommend anything other than the KIAs ? also does VW have an agent ?

How big of a risk am I taking by going with VW or Tata (in terms of parts and resale)? Kia Sonet used to be 123/- and now its 137/- unless I can find one under 130/- I am not going for it. Currv has the most features. I like the unique look to it. In terms of interior quality. They are all below BYD. I don’t like Tata steering wheel and I could do without red interior and sunroof. The Taigun does not have lane keeping assist or 360. And the Sonet does not have brake hold. Tata has both with leg operated boot lid. Tata voice assistant felt better than Kia. My mind says Sonet. But heart says Tata Curvv. 150/- is the absolute max. And JDM Yaris is out. Also no Personal LC as well for me. No for hatchbacks and sedans.

I saw a Tata Curvv 144/- and went on a test drive. And I liked it. What things should I consider before buying? My other alternatives are Kia Sonet 129/- Kia Syros 139(personal lc import 150 showroom price) ,Toyota Raize Z Grade 10k milage (145) and VW Tigun 150(personal LC) (maximum budget). update sonet price is - 137/- at showroom Please tell me what should I consider?

Major Problems 1. Transmission- car won’t go forward until it has time to warm up. 2. engine mount - front engine mount needs to be checked/replaced. 3. Lower Arm bush needs to be replaced. 4. Right shock absorber need to be checked (possible leak) Minor Problems 1. central locking not working on rear door. 2. a/c vent won’t stay up.- 2 replies

what is everyone's opinion on the new Honda City RS?
kiwisunset replied to kiwisunset's topic in General Automotive
so out of the two the Almera seems to be the safer bet. I am also now considering the Hybrid Raize, anything I need to look out for in that ? Also many Japanese imports include a 3 year warranty (plus some included services) from KOBE, Sterling and M*gcity, are these legit ? or are they some scam/fake promises ? -

How big of an issue is the wet timing belt of the City RS? What is your opinion on the KIA Sonet ? There is a possibility of being able to convert them to accept KIA due to the 5 year 150k warranty. What about the Nissan Almera ? I liked its blue interior and it's about 1.2 mil cheaper if I go for the 2024 version. But I have heard Nissan/Jatco transmission have horrible reputation. -

will I take a massive hit on the resale value if I go for the City RS instead of popular/trendy choices such as Raize, Suzuki Fronx or KIA Sonet? I would've loved to go for the latter 2 but badge snobs that I live with (this is a car for the entire family not just my personal joyride so I have to listen to them) vetos any non Honda or Toyota. And I didn't like the lack of features of the Toyota L*nka Raize and the price premium of the non TL Raize. Feel free to make suggestions, recommendations within 10-15.5M budget. -
I am mainly talking about Toyota Corolla 121/Axio 141 and Vitz/Yaris Hatchback/Belta (In the case of Corollas replacing the same engine, but vitz/belta with a higher capacity) I should have made it clear but the reason for engine swap is performance for Yaris/Belta (1000cc) and IF there are issues with the 1500cc (121/141). No I wasn't, I appreciate your detailed response. This was my initial thoughts as well but they(my relatives) insisted that the garage is reliable/well known to them. Any advice avoiding Maka basses for myself ? I got the 121 and I have to replace the engine mounts. I already spent 200k at D*mo for AC compressor. They also stated that I need to replace the transmission upon which I took to Toyota that told me some engine mounts need to be replaced.

I came across these in shops in MC and nearby electronic/gadget shops. I thought having one might be handy. I have some questions. 1. Can I leave this in the car (won't the hot sun cause it to break) ? 2. reliability - most places offer 1 month to 6 month warranty, but they do not repair them after warranty.

Hi Thank you for your detailed comment, I really appreciate it. Yes you are right engine replacement/and acquiring a new one sounds like a hassle, however as I do not plan to buy one with a busted engine, a relative of mine has a Axio 141 that needs an engine and transmission replacement and according to them there were no obvious signs when they purchased it and so far have been managing with repairs due to financial reasons. So instead of purchasing a car with a rolled back ODO and expensive. I thought of getting a car that is high milage with the expectation that I will have to replace the engine & transmission. The filing with RMV; does it have to be done before or after the replacement ?
