Hey guys, generally, the banks would verify everything in terms of the CR for you if you buy a car on a lease, but if you want to buy with cash without needing a bank, how can you verify the car's registration?

Hey guys, I recently got an FK6, and it has a small problem... The two bumpers are terribly aligned, and it is really killing my OCD (plus the grill is not aligned either, slightly popped out). Any place you guys would recommend who would take the time to do a good job to sort this out properly?

Honda Civic (FK6) - Battery Replacement Options?

Thank you. Will get that in a week or two. Thank you so much. Is there any model code/specifics I need to look for when getting it? -
Honda Civic (FK6) - Battery Replacement Options?

Yeah, mines got a Yuasa right now too. You recommend the Amaron AGM then, yeah? -
Hey guys, recently got an FK6, and the battery is on its last legs as per the check up done - the shop I usually visit told me that you can run it for 3-6 months. What's a the proper battery for a 2017 Honda Civic FK6 (EX)? I believe it requires some special battery due to the auto start/stop.

Looks gorgeous, may god protect your new pride and joy from evil eye.

Congratulations, brother!

Yup, you were right @iRage. I might have confused with a different car. It was 1.5L (https://www.carlist.my/used-cars/2018-honda-city-1-5-v-i-vtec-sedan-facelift-leather-seat-paddle-shift/16340953 seems to be similar to most listings there, and I'm sure I didn't drive a rare model, it was from a car rental).

Oh, I've not driven many DCTs extensively. I think you're right, they were not Hybrid. I've mostly driven an automatic (121) and CVTs. Probably felt odd by the DCT or like someone else mentioned, might be a faulty DCT. It just felt odd. I put the car on Drive and slowly released the brake pedal, and the car wouldn't budget. I had to hit the gas pedal for it to start moving and then I could control it with the brake (No, brakehold was not turned on).

Cmon, driving in Mexico is an expression, not literally 🥲. But I did actually live in Malaysia for 3 years.

I had a friend back in Uni who always told me: "If you see a Honda driver, run as far as possible. It's always the Honda drivers." Now that I got one, I understand why. The car is literally begging you to go heavy foot (the overall feel of the car). Also, please share the clips

It was really weird, not sure if the DCT was gone. Guy had a CarChecks report suggesting it is fine. I didn't like the drive at all, so I moved away. Funnily enough, the Grace comes as Honda City in Malaysia, where I drove a load of them, believe they were higher than 1.5L, can't remember if it was 1.6L or 1.8L, those were smooth as hell.

I test drove a Honda Grace, it was so weird. So I didn't explore any DCT cars, plus the potential repair on a DCT/Hybrid cost is too high, so I skipped the DCT/Hybrid systems entirely given my luck. Otherwise, I was hell bent on a Vezel (for being bigger since I'm fat and 6ft tall) or a Grace (3M cheaper than Vezels and Civics). Also yeah, the older JDM cars with engine swaps are insane. A friend of mine has an EG6, it's a rocket. And another friend has an Evo 7, which is even more insane. Sadly, both of them have taken their cars apart for months and are doing full restoration since those cars are their second cars and also serve as project cars.

Let's just say, you can travel to Mexico multiple times in a day from Colombo. Maybe you're travelling to Galle and decide to take a few trips to Mexico on the highway -
Lmaoo, what I meant was that I didn't expect the acceleration to be this good. But I would never push the limits of my car or start comparing my car to other cars and go: My car is faster! For me, it is about going on long drives (Galle Road is my favorite for a weekly long drive). Acceleration is decent enough for me to overtake and go at a fair speed. Also yeah, the guy who raced bought Lasa's FK7 conversion (1.5L Manual).

As far as I can tell, I don't believe my 1L Turbo Civic is a 1L, it feels like a 1.5L Toyota. 😂 Cars like GP5 must have insanely higher performance.

Oh yeah, I tried the FK6 at 140 km/h in Mexico too, and I couldn't even tell I hit the number 😂 Yes, larger dimensions. Most routes I take are plagued with traffic 🥲. I'm yet to try turning at anything over 20-30 km/h, having back issues, can't let it get worse 🥲. It did handle pretty well once when I took a bend somewhere between 70-80 km/h in Galle Road (past Bentota). -

I'm yet to try the Civic on a long drive, but from what I noticed so far, it is tiring in the city as opposed to the Vitz. Also, I drove the Vitz at 140 km/h in Mexico (I got 13 kmpl if I recall right on the highway with 92 Octane). Initial acceleration requires a bit of a heavy foot, and from there in, a light rev can maintain it until you decide to brake. Vitz is very capable in the highway, most people underestimate the Vitz. It's extremely stable at that speed, slight vibrations (normal for an economy car I guess, but not too noticeable unless you're actively trying to feel it). -
Hey, thanks for the valuable insights. The radiator coolant tank does not have any leaks, as confirmed by CarChecks. Apparently, they weren't able to properly measure the "high-pressure tank" as they do not have the special tools required. They said they're flagging it for that reason. Yup, since I have warranty on the repair, I wouldn't want to pay for it again, lol. Agreed, electronics are pretty complicated on Civic, might stick to them for those. But for the engine, I might trust Hybrid Hub more. Edirisinghe brothers are the biggest engine repair specialists. I got them to repair my Vitz. 1) I'm trying to find a contact number to the previous owner, sadly I bought it from a car sales guy (famous civic seller) and he was on open papers. 2) Thanks for flagging this, wonder what kind of cost this would be?

Car Covers: Any place to get good quality ones?

Oh yeah, saw that specific review too. Was hoping someone had a Civic, found the exact same car lol. I'm looking to get a wing installed as well, so figured this is better. -

Right, might call a few car mod shops and see if they have similar or better options, if not pull the trigger on this. Thanks a lot! -

Thank you. did you use it on any of your cars? I'm really very hell bent on getting the best quality possible for under 25K. Minor scratches give me the strongest OCD, I actually painted a panel in my old car because it had a tonne of barely visible scratches and wouldn't go on a polish, lol. -
So I got this honda civic recently (FK6), and I forgot to consider the size of my garage. It now is parked with the full hood exposed, and literally you could park for 30 minutes and some crow will shit on it. I'm tired of having a cloth on the hood as a temporary solution, as the crow poop manages to seep through... I have to wash the bonnet every single day because of that. I'll be moving soon so investing on a garage extension is not worth it, so I was thinking of getting a car cover, but I heard most of the ones in the market are very low quality and scratch up the vehicle overtime. I'm looking for high quality recommendations that won't damage my car, won't trap heat and protects from rain and bird poop. Recommendations?
