  1. You mean to say Super Diesel??
  2. Dude chill. Go to Staten Island and have a Lion Larger! (I see you're in NYC), BTW how long have you been in NYC?
  3. My uncle got down 2010 Allion on this permit after the tax reduction. I think it was 25% off the import tax. About 500,000 in final price.
  4. Definitely. But this is a different thrill. Cheap, affordable and sheer power. Made for the dead straight American highways, not the winding roads of Europe or the Autobahns. The only place you can to truly enjoy the handling of the a German made car in the US is on a curved highway exit. It makes you think who put that exit speed at 20mph when you can take it at 60mph. Tells a lot about the average American car. But also makes you think all that handling precision is just overkill for the roads here.
  5. I bought a cheap Chinese one for Rs7500 a couple of years ago, They are very reliable.
  6. They would also be on the top of the list if you were looking for cheap plastic and crappy build quality ROFL. It's essentially a modified version of the Mercedes W210 E class platform that Chrysler inherited while they were a part of the Daimler-Chrysler group, isn't it? @Kavvz- Long time no see.
  7. I saw a trailer for Topgear on History Channel last night. So went online and checked what that was all about. Apparently America is finally get its own version of Topgear. Not sure if it'll be as fun as the original version from across the pond. But something is better than nothing... Article http://wheels.blogs....by-its-trailer/
  8. The ships are stripped of all material and only the steel hull is sunk to make artificial reefs.
  9. For those of you who have little access to water, let me recommend a product I use. It's called Optimum No Rinse Wash. You just need two buckets of water to wash an entire car without having to worry about grit scratching the paint. I tried this after seeing reviews about it on a BMW Forum. A lot of detailing experts have recommended it. The only option I had before was to use the automatic or a self service car wash. http://www.optimumcarcare.com/onrwns.htm
  10. Interior?
  11. Nice, any specific area you were responsible for?
  12. And then you can write about both the Mustang & the White Van!
  13. Do one about the Shelby Mustang to hit the streets of Colombo
  14. In person the new one looks all of that...
  15. This is actually the 2011 model and its more than just a face lift. I like it better than the previous one. Looks more masculine and has a better presence on the road. The Mustang needed that to compete with the Charger and Camaro. Also back is the 5.0L - pronounced five-oh on the GT model, that was legendary to the mustangs of yesteryear. At the same time Ford had 'discovered' some good engine technology that give the base Mustang very good fuel economy at 30mpg while putting out 300bhp. All in all its a very affordable car for the masses (At least on this corner of the world)
  16. Take a look at this while we're on the topic of Dodge Neons
  17. In a while it will be 'his country' too ROFL
  18. BMW has been offering this technology on many of their cars including the Minis. http://www.bmw.com/c...start_stop.html
  19. Sorry , I wasn't being clear enough. Both the leasor's and lessee's names appear on the title, but the lessee is the rightful owner. When the lease is over or if the vehicle for repoed the dealership will take ownership of the car. Here's an Carfax (they report the history of the car). Look at item 2 & 3 on the detailed history. http://www.carfax.co...4n1QQzBDHLNm1h1
  20. Normal lease restriction is 12,000 miles an year but you can get up to 15,000 at additional cost. The car I have was a lease return, the lessee only put 22,000 miles on the car. I wouldn't think twice about buying a leased car. They would have to be serviced at dealer and adhere to strict useage guidelines otherwise lessee will end up having to pay penalties...
  21. Dealer cannot take ownership of the car unless lease is paid off. And it will show in records. Things here don't work like SL.
  22. "BMWs on the 'top ten most commonly leased vehicles' in American list " Looks like my numbers could be a little flawed - because I was looking at the high end car market. Corn already gone for this season. Starting to get colder outside. What were you doing here and what made you go back?
  23. I'm talking about actual lease (operating lease where you simply pay for the time you used the car and return it after the lease is up) on NEW cars. Online figures show 50-60% of new cars are leased (numbers were little lower during the recession but have started to pick up since) @jdnet - were you (or are you still) based in the UK or USA? Vaguely remember you were....
  24. Bull SHIT! 99% percent of cars go through auctions here in the US. And more than 50% of cars are leased...
  25. FYI: None of that is a 'problem'
