Not many BMWs for sale around where I live, mostly everyone drives American cars, came across this one at a Mercedes dealership. Someone had exchanged it for the C Class. It had a clean history and one owner. So ended up buying it.

Met my uncle recently and gave me a some details about this. Apparently there were two units that were imported. One to Welisara Navy camp and the other one to Trinco. 5799 is the one from the Trinco camp. He used to drive that, a dual carb V8. He recalls wading that in the Trinco sea once.

I don't think it's with Alliance any more. Last time I saw it driver was not owner of Alliance.

This is different to the income tax permit. And I think you have to get a brand new vehicle.

From what I heard, if you deposit US$50000 in a government bond for 5 years you get a duty free permit. A relative of mine has got a diesel Montero Sport for that permit, but I believe it's non transferable. Considering the fact he's only managed to get a Montero Sports I think there is a limitation of the CIF value - probably around US$18000.

Guys, I came across a 2002 Corolla imported from Singapore with no airbags. It's a 1.5 automatic and the grade is LX. Did the 121 come without even the drivers airbag? Or is it possible that the airbag was replaced with a non air bag Toyota steering? I didn't see the vehicle myself to check if there are airbag indicators on the dash. But the owner said the vehicle has no airbags at all, which he also found a bit strange.

Guys cool down. Everyone of us on the forum takes pride in what we own, be it a riced up Honda or a Aston DB9. So stop insulting one another on what they own, because it might be what they can afford. Not all of us are rich enough to buy super cars! Every one of us is different, have different taste etc and that's just the way the world is. So just tolerate the others and stop bashing each other.
