    Cadillac Escalade

KLM, let us know about the demo dates at odel...
  2. My personal opinion is the Rexton is the best choice
  3. Yes. Falls under CIF USD 16,000 category
  4. I've used brands like Laser and Cobra. Even though you get false alarms near GSM towers and Automatic doors it works well on the highway. But you have to be alert in order to slow down.

  6. Hey evilmak, nice profile picture. Where and when was this taken?

    Kyron

Dilesh there were many posts that showed up when I did a search just now. Here is the review I did on it some time back. http://forum.autolanka.com/index.php?s...25&hl=kyron The engine, even though it is a 2.0l puts out 140bhp. That is sufficient to drag the 2tonne body around but it won't give you sports car performance. To compare, the Montero sports 2.5 diesel puts out about 114bhp with the vehicle weighing almost the same. Kia Sorento 2.5 CRDi unit produces 160bhp, and the Tucson 2.0l CRDi puts out 114BHP. And I believe even the Prado 3.0 Common rail puts out about 160bhp. With the locally assmebled one being available for the permit it will cost about 3.25mil. Seems like it is the most popular among the permit holders.
  8. There's a great opportunity for someone interested to get a buy my almost brand new radar detector. Please check http://www.autolanka.com/ad.asp?ID=3784 for details. Check the following sites for user reviews on the product. http://reviews.pricegrabber.com/radar-detectors/m/16495064/ http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/customer-...customerReviews Disclaimer: Radar detectors maybe illegal in some regions. Please check with your local regulations.
  9. Are you talking about the one sitting at Milroy's Garage?
  10. You have to lodge a complaint with the police saying the number plate is damaged/broken/stolen. Get a copy of the complaint and apply for a new plate from RMV. Will take about 2-3 weeks to get the new one. Also there are "other" ways of getting it without al this hassle.
  11. Actually there is a safety lock on the steering handle to prevent from tight turning circles that cause flip overs. But most of the drivers remove the lock so they can perform acrobatic manoeuvres on the road.
  12. Count me in too...
  13. Personaly I also don't think the new model looks sporty. Plus it seems to have grown in size. I prefer the Evo6 and the Evo 7 body shapes.
  14. Checked out some Passos at car sales for a family member. Car looks quite spacious on the inside. Not all that good looking though from the outside. The cheapest we came across for an unreg was 1.85 mil. Is that the current market price? All were 1000CC, seems like the 1300CC doesn't reach our shores. Couple of concerns I have is; would the 3 cylinder 1000CC be strained easliy on the long run? How is the spares availablity for the Passo?
  15. Almost all cars have a slight tint on the windscreen to cut glare. Don't believe these corrupt cops. I bet there were trying to get a bribe from you.
  16. There were some old Landy Series II listed on the papers last week. Belongs to Souhaine of Extreme motors.
  17. He said his project is suspended due to lack of funding. This belongs to Roadstar.
  18. I kind of guessed that when you had your 156 for sale. BTW whose car was it that you bought? Our bosses by any chance?
  19. EOS range is the cheaper alternative to the high end 'D' range.
  20. I think you will be better off buying a newer Japanese car to be used as a family car, and will give you more comfort in long distance journeys. That said there are certain Minis that have frequented the Colombo - Jafna A9 many times. A Mini will make a great weekend car in my opnion. Miniace over to you...
  21. Maybe he bought it to carry his dogs to the vet, or to carry the groceries home. When I was interested in the Kyron some time back, I used to walk upto Kyron owners where ever I see them and ask if they were pleased with the vehicle. So one day a Kyron pulls upto the next parking slot, the man behind the wheel looked like the driver not the owner. So had a word with him to know how the vehicle was. When inquired about the owner I got to know it belongs Aravinda. Driver said it was a bit noisy and has a bumpy ride.
  22. I know someone who uses a Kyron. Cricketer Aravinda De Silva.
  23. Naza, a Malasian company is producing a Micro trend equivalent to their Market. ( The Trend is based on a car by Chinese manufacturer Hafei) Even though it's the same car the Naza looks better. They even have a sports version with Momo accessories. I'm sure that will sell well with our ricers if Micro can do something like that too.
  24. 140K+ from the Canon agents Metropolitan around 90 -100K from Panama traders @ MC. Around 80K from an individual selling through the sunday paper.
  25. Actually the Trend is a littler higher in price than the Marutis. But when you consider the Rexton, there seems to be a big price advantage compared to the competition. Also the Cherry QQ is now locally assembled and also the Indian Ambassador (saw an advertistement on the paper). Next to follow is the Jaguar X type. We seem to be heading in the right direction atleast. According to sources at Micro, it was the international community (World bank specially) that was pressuring the previous government to prevent Micro from succeeding.
