    Black Evo 6

I'd say the STi conversion is a better deal and neater than an Evo conversion. As you can get a AWD Impreza for the conversion. But in the lancer you have to make drastic changes for the rear axle. Also keep in mind that it's not the drive train, suspension that differs in a Impreza Vs a STi or a Lancer vs an Evo. The complete body rigidity is reinforced. And we tend to ignore that during a conversion. No doubt the car in mention looks hot from the outside. But word on the street says it's had it share of issues after the conversion. But they "might" have been corrected now. I would rather pick a tracked car rather than a conversion anytime. That said, there are some neat specimens of Evo IVs around but none of the owners are willing to part with them.
  3. I'de say it's Canadian with a Persian touch!
  4. The problem is there is no "main oposition", more or less everyone crossed over leaving only the "leading clown" and his troop.
  5. Happy Birthday!
  6. I've had this problem caused by the TPS- Throttle Position Sensor.
  7. More pics at flickr till it comes up on AL gallery. http://www.flickr.com/photos/prasannan
  8. Engine doesn't differ from basic model to the loaded one.
  9. Congrats! Seems to be in spotless condition.
  10. Even though 20,000 government servants were eligible for the permits, I'm sure that the number of actual imports will remain under 5000, considering the prices.
  11. Buying a locally assembled vehicle is governed by a government circular, somewhat different to the first Tax Free circular with the CIF value. The government has given a max value for the parts that can be imported, and taxes are paid for the parts. The local labor cost is added onto that and also 20% VAT value to the total price. The taxation for the parts is governed by the above said circular issued by the Treasury. Here's the circular http://www.treasury.gov.lk/EPPRM/ttip/vehi...end20070921.pdf
  12. I believe it's only the labor component.

    My New Born Baby

Nice ride, going to make it a show car?
  14. Give your wife a break. You got enough kids now!
  15. Dude only recently that engineers and scientists got private sector jobs. For decades they have been working for the government. Mahaweli was one of the best places for engineers, and the Department of Agriculture had lot of scientists - even though their designation didn't go as "Scientist".
  16. I have a different opinion about this. It's upto a certain individual to decide whether to join the government or work for the private sector. There are more than valid points to argue for both sides. So if you decided to work for the government you will get a permit and a shitty but tax exempt salary! But work work the private sector, you get a good pay and tax. So one should measure all this when starting their careers or even at a stage where you decide your field of expertise you want to go in college. For example, I didn't want to become a doctor because you have to spend 6 years in med school with dead bodies and stinky patients. So it takes some guts and endurance to become a doc. True they get good money from private practice, but their salary is just 25K. And it takes at least a good 5 years more to build up a rep. Even my mom who's a 25 year veteran doc gets paid less than me who has worked for only 4 years in IT. So I think people should not turn a shameful eye on for certain privileges they get. The point is different categories of people get different previleges. Docs get permits, IT guys get a good salary even after tax. In case of politicians, they have the ability to lie, and that's a special talent that not everyone has, and just think who elected them? The people of the country, no point blaming them! Blame the people. And who are the people? Us! Look at things in a neutral way, and learn to be happy with what you have! and stop blaming others for what you don't have! If you wanted a permit you could've made your way through med school become a doc and got one, or even become a politician (which would have been much easier :-)) PS: Shit this sounds philosophical
  17. Jaga "Dear Sis" would have been be more appropriate.
  18. Full option 4WD 2.8Mil for the permit. Basic 2WD is 2.4Mil for the permit. Don't know about the normal market price.
  19. And it'll be one hell of a wait for the customers. Micro is already a good 6 months behind on their existing orders!
  20. This is somewhat expected. Even the last time the government stopped the permit abruptly. Every time the permit is given, they stop the permits after a certain number has met. Otherwise just think what will happen if all the eligible 20,000 or so government servants import cars within a short period as a year or two?
  21. RS versions come only in white.
  22. I meant the Evo VI TME of Evilmak and your Evo X, as he had suggested to test them together.
  23. That's a valid question considering there's no rear spoiler, body kit or Recaros on the RS!
  24. Here's a sneak peek from the NY Autoshow. The Boss will upload the rest of the pics to the Autolanka gallery. New STi Hummer Concept
