I joined this site few years back and stayed a way disgusted. Today I logged back in with scepticism and read a thread on honda, before going too far disgust struc again. Captured below is a response from a Moderator - Pericles. This attitude is pathetic, and shameful. For some this attitude maybe acceptable norms, but for others it makes us wonder should we return back! Keep it up; be proud of being sarcastic, rude, show of poor upbringing to the world through the World Wide Web. AutoLanka is a fantastic Sri Lankan site, sadly it is moderators like this that make it look horrid!! They told that idiot moderators (exactly like you) are here and they have no idea of polietness. You proved it again. And keep it up. This is not only the forum I'm in, I have never experinced such replies in any forum. Then why don't you go and ask your "lot of people" for help? I have a helluva lot of juvenile delinquent members to keep an eye on (exactly like you) and I don't sit around babysitting them. And personally, I don't care what your experiences elsewhere has been. You asked a question. You GOT the correct answer. Then you decide thats not what you need, COZ YOU ASKED THE WRONG QUESTION but something else. I pointed out that YOU CAN STOP WASTING PEOPLES TIME BY ASKING THE RIGHT QUESTION in the first place. Within the job description. Who's the idiot here? Ever think it might be the one who can't even figure out what he needs to know in the first place? And you think the way to go is to criticize the moderation? Keep that up, my patience in dealing with insults doesn't last forever. is it mild, quite obvious engine speed will vary on any gear, and at some point you will equal the engine speed while on other gears too. so if it is with the engine alone you should catch it. if it is only on one gear; any accident while on the 3rd? resonance between a damaged tranny and speed surprisingly it could also be a wheel out of alignment!

Thanks Jami, Ripper for your responses. Yep I agree on the comments on the overall looks, however have concerns on the fuel and performance. I was reading up and came across a few posts on the 141. There are a high number of 141 owners complaining of fuel efficiency. I am somewhat of a tech guy but would not say an expert when it comes to vehicles. My little knowlegde on vehicles tell me even with an engine of same capacity the construction (simple stuff like, angle of the inlet manifold) and material (ABC, ABN) compliment greately to its performance measured Nm/RPM. Throw in the tranny and it can make significant differences. I personally have driven and experienced three makes and have observed variations on engine performance. Infact one was a 1.6 compared with 1.5s on the other models. Surprisingly at that time the 1.6 fell short, at fist I thought it was an issue with the vehicle I drove so I test drove another only to realize the experience was the same. I'm not trying to be smart but would like to have a very good constructive discussion after all its big money at stake. Thank you once again guys. I love my vehicles both in looks and performance, and yes I am eyeing the new Honda as my own next. Handling is AAaaaawwwsome

Hello constructive critics, I currently own a Premio 2006/12, sky blue, imported 0 mileage, High grade beige interior, and 1500cc(There are just a few of this color in colombo). I got an offer for a Corolla 141, Black, Purchased b/new, beige interior (not a creamy beige, threres a hue of grey), and 1600cc. The premio and its distinct colour makes me want to keep it. The want to change after years of use makes me consider purchasing the corolla. what is the better of the two? I would like to hear your constructive critisism on looks, market acceptance, fuel consumption and etc. Regards Lucian

Friends, Please help, I noticed today all (except driver) power window switch lights are flashing in a sequence (flash, flash, pause...). Also I cannot control the windows from the drivers switch, however each window works by using it's own switch. Please advice what could be wrong and how I fix it.

A Performance Filter Question (apexi Air Filter)
Lucian replied to Daforce's topic in General Automotive
Hi Guys, I've seen many articles on this airfilter stuff. Out os curiosity does it actually give a 'wow'. I feel like checking one out myself. How do I meet to the two persons mentioned? -
I've asked admin to remove it if it is not the correct practice. Just that simply I'm looking for a vehicle and suggest AutoLanka have a 'Wanted' page. It's difficult to find in papers as they do not quote a price and you need to make a site visit as some are reluctent to tell the price over the phone. And at the site they ask you for exorbitant prices. Auto lanka had a few went and saw but not happy. so wanted to expand my horizon. "KNOCK AND THE DOOR WILL BE OPENED TO YOU" again admin please remove from site but please consider my request and am sure others out there will also appreciate it.

Hi Administrators, I'm sure I saw a thread on hosting a link on Vehicles Wanted. Is there anything in the making in relation? Is it OK if I ask all the Guys and Gals out there " I'm looking for a RAV4, CRV(RD5), Prado Diesel in extreamly mint condition. My spend approx 4-4.3mil" ? If this is not suitable to post please let me know.

Hi, Why isn't the RAV4 on the list? The RAV4 is a SUV categorized for professional ladies (gents please calm down) or new families. I've driven a few, as they call cross overs, SUV and truck types. My personal and I say MY view (I'm no professional) is that compared the the Soft Roaders listed (with all due respect) I felt the RAV4 had better handling. You could feel it's ruggedness, and pep. Yep it's not spacious also it's cargo bay volume is comparitively small. But it gives you real driving pleasure. And that's what your asking for right? no off roading!!, Any ways SUV are not meant for serious off road. There's a 2WD and 4WD in 1.8 and 2ltr in SL. If you look around hard enough you'd find a good pick. again my personal feeling is the RAV4 has a stronger (comparitively scratch resistent) interior Any one can quote on the current pricing 2003/4 up vvti 2000/1 up

Hi Don, Thanks for the comments appreciated. mmm didn't gather much did it!! anyways this guy has done a bit of hunting and.... 2001 manual - 3.5M 2004 Auto - 4.5M are these prices the current market. How liquid is the resale market for a RAV4 ? His freinds have adviced him differently on the X-Trail, (I however like it specially the green shade). Not being biased I did a search myself and found to get mixed sentiments about this softroader. continuing, in the hunt he has also stumbled on a 32 Prado and 32 Pajero both 4.0m. Further on a G plate Suzuki. Would any one recommend a 199* prado or pajero. What can he expect from a truck this old? What about the Suzuki. Please reply I need to help this fellow out.

Hi Folks, Seen and read a few articles on permits. This I believe has not come up in any of the threads, please corrct/point me if wrong. Would like to know views on using a permit holders vehicle. for scenario let's say. both husband and wife are doctors and are entitled to permit. However their requirement is for one vehicle only. Hence they have two options, buy a second vehicle and (a) hardly use it ( give it to a close relative for use. And hey, the guys who do not have the previledge of buying under permit taxation scheme are actually paying the difference with the increased taxation. In reality the permit holders brethren are paying the balance. !!!!read between the lines!!!!! question, as the plates are read and clearly identifiable would it draw attention with the regulators. Is it actually safe to drive around a vehicle imported under permit taxation scheme. I sure know the pros but what about the cons. Given that regulators are trying every stint on and off book to fill their pockets with public money. please reply in terms of Inland revenu Impound the vehicle Change in policy/agreement attributed to politics, country situation

hey mate, go for the Durage sold by cleanpark. They are silicon based. On the 'life time warranty' get real this is SL. The day you go to claim your rights there'd be a whole new persone even if was the very same person who sold it to you, get it!!! I changed mine a year back and todate they function without a change. The problem with other blades are they harden in contact to the heated surface of the glass. If Durage practices what they claim then silicon withstands the heat bombardment. Bosch is also another good brand. I had it in my previous car. What ever said and done wiper blades were not made to last a life time ha ha But MOST important don't wait for blades if it is out of stock. With the prevailing rainy season you'd be sorry you did after its too late. Trying to save pennies will cost you 000's

Hi Friends, The KIA sportage 2.0CDi XE diesel is available on permit for 3.3. This is within my budget (sale of Allion, how much will it fetch?) Can a owner please be kind enough to share their experince with me. I've had a look at the vehicle not bad. Now I'm more interested to know the robustness of the vehicle, maintenance and problems etc. Further the 2008 Corolla 2.0 Diesel is also on offer for the same price. What would an expert recommend. I'm not a heavy outdoor enthusiast but do a bit of crazy stuff on and off. Also all the experts out there would love to hear your expert comments and reviews.

Guys, The Kia Sportage Diesel and Petrol also are on offer. Can we get down recon vehicles. I would love to own a x trail.

Hi Guys ( am I right !) Thank you so much for the replies and the evaluative comments. Very much appreciated. I have one question though; Your remark on the suspention needing attention. Sri Lankan roads are a pile of crap. Pot holes and waves that usually one would call offroad terrain. That's the main reason I'm thinking of switching to the xtrail. Any replies to this too would be greatly appreciated.

Hi, Guys/Gals at the moment I have a Allion wp KC..., It is a good vehicle nevertheless I'm thinking of selling this and buying a x-trail. Guys I need a bit of advice. I was ramped from the behind by a bike. The rider accepted fault, an entry was made at the police. The police requested the rider to appear in courts tomorrow. The bike registered to Senok Trading is insured under Am#na Tak#ful. I contacted Amana asking how I claim for damages, show vehicle for inspection and etc I was shoked at their reply. I was told to file a letter of demand in the destrict court. Further was told this is standard insurance practice. How ever wehn I contacted my insurer (SL I*******) I was told I need not go through all that hassle. Is Am#na Tak#ful dodging payment? Can someone please explain the correct procedure. I hate to see my car damaged. To be very honest (it comes from my heart) if I knew I need to go through all this hassle I would have ensured the rider also suffers a just like me or even more for putting me through pain and trouble. I strongly believe the fines should be increased many folds like other countries then drivers will be more careful. man I'm mad with this

I believe theres no straight answer to the question. There are so many suggestions and answers. As it should it shows that ppl hold different views. There are a few things to consider when selecting an oil. Each one has a different characteristic that pays. It is important to select the right engine oil for the right application. Some question you should ask yourself are: What is the temperature (mother nature) Do you run your car 'hot' in revving-up or traffic, long runs 'just crusing', What is your driving habbit Is your engine new or worn out all this plays an important role in selecting the most suited oil Oils speak about viscosity, Oil provides lubrication and cushion to the moving parts It also aids in cooling Look closely at the grades For gasoline engines; the basic is API SL, better grades may have ILSAC. ILSAC GF-3 is the current standard, (soon will be replaced with GF-4) For Diesel engines it is different as they need to work under harsher conditions Do not fall prey to aftermarket oil treatments, The wrong use of oil will cost you fuel, power and money. There's too much to write just here so ..... use the best engine oil your pocket will pay it will reward you, and follow the oem manufacturer recommendations (oil change interval etc sooner or later is not going to help)

Guys, what bearing does the size of the rim have on the engine and other connected body parts. When I mean size I'm talking about radius, width and weight.
-
I totally agree with ya. Yep you can modify it not only the distance but also the torque, speed, frequency and etc. Are RCs the only means? so what next is going to be banned wound up toys these too can travel and carry a payload and if directed well can achieve most. And yes these rules do not apply to the influential (many forms). While dishing out the ban he himself will 'green light' same for his associates.
