  1. i say not bother with the car at all. cos its using a six pack (not the beer ) to attract ladies. too much of a try hard better let her discover it on her own.
  2. between ourselves we should probably start some kind of a movement to knock some sense into these stupid sri lankans. oh! and by the way. i'm definitely buying a new car next year. got 3 options in my head. all black saloons with tiny boot spoilers in the back i was kind of thrilled about the fact that i had a car upon the first few months of ownership and aquiring licenses. but soon i realised its best to let them find out themselves. cos most of them are not even slightly impressed. others go mental over it not least because they think i got a nice car but i'm guessing its because they want to have one just like it themselves
  3. just my 2 pence. i could probably lift a yoshimura off from a slower engine like the hayabusa. i'll be sure to let you know if i decide to do it.

he did. not sure if he still has it.
  5. lol you could almost swear i dreamt about it or something. but those people. they gotta go. its not like having an eyesore of a car wasnt offensive enough they drive like complete hooligans. and thanks to them you cant drive even a stock sports car without getting a bad name. see this is the problem with sl. people just don't realise the perks of a hatchback. i mean i bought mine over a carina gt. so basically driving around in hatchback is like having better nails than your girlfriend. they'd want them and they'd probably be very jealous now i must forgive myself for going OT. but i always wondered what it'd be like to fit a bike exhaust to a car. my neighbours think its a bike going down the road when im popping to the shops in my car. so i guess i'm halfway there but thanks to the low rev limit it'd probably end up sounding like a superbike being driven rather slowly. but i'd rather have that over those so called "beat barrels". any comments razor?

I'm guessing that bit of news wouldnt hit HE Mahinda Rajakasha too well
  7. trying to enjoy the last few moments of glory arent we?
  8. i'm not going to argue with you on that. its just i feel that girls havent really stopped identifying cars as a status symbol or even a sex symbol for that matter. probably not helped by the nouvo riche chromed accessories we are flogged by the south east asians and the ill understanding of the upper classes on vulgar and offensive motoring. i mean they drive orange jaguar xj's for gods sake. you'll be the laughing stock here if you tried to be that brave. but when they all use it as such a symbol to attract the ladies which of them would wanna be left out? at this point i'd like to remind ourselves of clarksons famous words "the flashiness of your car is inversely proportional to the length of your you know what". i dont want to annoy the wrx and evo drivers now. cos i'm sure you bought them for what a bloody good car it is. but if u just had your 1.3 lancer painted in bright green, sorry mate! u had it. anyways i'd also like to remind you this isnt a topic to just talk about how the cars helped your excursions but how being a petrolhead has affected them.
  9. join the club mate! even though i lack a noisy exhaust the only sort of people i've impressed with the un-straight-four like noises coming from my engine all have chest hair and size 11 converse shoes

thats a seriously good suggestion cos most people looking for a car in that price bracket tend to ignore european cars. but i doubt if they really are low maintenance cars. especially the volvo s40. even though its a mitsubishi charisma underneath

this long-time-ago-ex-gf of mine had one. the space was unbelievable.
  12. my sister always sits behind me and she's the only one in the family who's deadbeat against seatbelts i always tell her to wear her seatbelt cos if we crash she'd come charging onto me probably hurting both of us badly. and i tell her that'd really piss me off works all the time.
  13. yea! u probably might end up finding the actual one you lost
  14. tough call mate! if they are going to provide you with the missing cover that means someone else will have to go with a missing one. you are probably better off trying to find a whole set of compatible covers rather than just one.
  15. or better still, not use your car to get fadge whoever you are talking about she's got good taste!
  16. i just cant help thinking sri lankan girls are rather materialistic when it comes to picking men. well i mean its the same case pretty much all around the world. but the ones here seem to take it to a different league. let me explain. they dig riced up cars. with noisy exhausts, big wings and a holes and vents all over the body. they also like cars with flashy colours and snob badges. especially the really wrong ones like volvo or even audi in some cases. and they don't mind drivers who act like complete hooligans. so i'm guessing its a matter of good taste really. for a fling i dont mind someone who's in mostly because she's impressed by the car. but for something a little lengthier i'm with what andrew said. cos if its the car that keeps them stuck to you they are just plain materialistic. however i cant blame anyone for using their car for that "initial" pull. but they hardly ever attract the right sort of people.
  17. damn! i was kinda hoping it'd be a more desireable brand. like say, alfa or jaguar. not the tedious germans!
  18. forget sl. seems like there r absolutely no import regulations in japan

    nope! a toyota vitz ncp-13
  21. hahahaha i feel like i'm about to fall of the seat when i havent got it on
  22. right! i think this is where i should step in. i havent serviced my vitz in 3 years and if there is going to be any sludge it should have formed by now. i've done 18k within that time period and i used fully synthetic oil (which i think u guys said isnt ideal in this scenario). so i guess this is the acid test. i'll probably start a topic of my own if there is any sludge formation. which i doubt. however i think you guys are a bit overracting cos the 1nz is a fine engine. well its not as performance biased as a honda d series but surely engine sludge messing up the vvti cam gears is just hogwash. i mean if its the case all vvti equipped engines should suffer from the same problem (afaik the cam change is triggered by oil pressure on vvti). so why dont we just treat it like a normal engine and see what happens? cos this is just overdoing the "prevention is better than cure" theory. what worries me slightly however is the 1nz is the most popular vvti equipped engine in sri lanka. so maybe its common to all vvti equipped engines. its probably because of the big percentage of 1nzs that we blame just that engine.
  23. ah! i see there's someone who doesnt wear seatbelts
  24. i'm running 90 octane at the moment on 10.5:1 compression. i get about 11km/l around colombo. i sticked to 90 cos the manufactuer has specified standard gasoline for the car. but i just realised standard is 95 in japan. so i'm going to pump the good stuff next time. i'll let you guys know how it goes (provided it really is 95 and not 90 sold for a higher price). i'm expecting a noticeable difference.
  25. omg! there's a giant on a giant bike riding next to the "jeep"
