Had a EK3 with similar problem and it was fixed by ATCO, they made both fans work togeather. Somehow I dont think that is the best thing to do , but I had no issues and car was cooling fine.

I have manual swift for sale, its on the auto lanka clasifieds ( Yellow , two door sport version with the swift rally decals) Have a look. Car does well on petrol as its lighter.
-
Hey, still remember the day when it first happened to me some 18 years ago...
-
Not sure on this but they only make the mannual swift in india, I think. But both cars should be the same except for the transmission but there is a big difference in price which cannot be just the freight cost.
-
Dont think guy like Dian Gomez would be foolish enough to take such a risk... anyway lets keep our fingers crossed.

BTW, i'm using 15W-40 for my N16. Is it the best for a car engine or should i go for a thicker or thinner oil than this? What is the effect of oil viscosity on an engine's performance? A thinner oil ( low visocity )will give you better engine performance than a thicker ( high viscosity) oil. Good lubrication will avoid friction so will improve your performance.... ehem... of ur pistons that is
-
When u turn the ignition on do you see the oil light come on and then does it switch off ? If so the indicator is ok. Anyway there is still some amount of oil eventhough the dip stick shows as empty. After u drive the car while the engine is running just lift the engine oil dip stick and see if smoke comes out, if so it may be under compression and these is a chance that oil too is getting in to the combustion chamber through worn out piston rings. Or u could do a compression check. Btw whats the car ?

4 WD system will be more costly to repair if any issue, also due to the extra weight and power distribution it will do bad on fuel. Thats why it has a lesser re sale value. But a small car like the Swift is mainly bought as a economical drive than a 4WD. If its a small 4 WD Suzuki has the Jimny on offer, which is a great small off road vehicle.

Full credit must go to Dian Gomes for this, if Manju Wanniarachi was in any other company either he would have been fired or not allowed to take so many days off just to practice boxing... This just goes to show how many more talented people in this country dont get that type of chance and just get wasted away in some far off village...

No engine knocking so far, but the engine is not very soomth in the morning ( only for a few seconds )just after starting. But after that no issues, anyway I do get the enjectors cleaned up on and off. Also I always try to pump 95 at Laughs. The turbo boost u will get from the turbo charger, but I cannot quite understand how the quality of fuel will have any effect on this.
-
This car has no number plates on top of that its a left hand drive.... and the cops does not seem to have any issue with it. But the moment we ( the common man) dont have the revenue licence pasted on the windscreen the buggers can see that from miles away !!
-
Used to put in Wurth octain booster for almost a year but they increased the price, so gave up and now using only 95. No major difference, anyway not much additional 3 octain levels could do in Colombo traffic , so its a waste. When u say " Full Boost " what exactly are u reffering to. If its turbo boost its a different stroy to octain booster.....

Looks like the battery is not charging well, so likely the alternator like mentioned. The fluid level low maybe a seperate issue but not the primary cause. But still why the car suddnely stall while driving is a bit of a mistery ? Is this car EFI ?
-
Saw a nice yellow one advertised few weeks back, looks nice. Did you import this car directly ? Think both models have high reving engines, and the sound is good even with the stock exhaust.
-
Machan, when u say semi automatic or triptronic I dont think its exactly the same thing as " Sport Shift " My understanging was on sport shift the gear is electronically shifted so you save on the timing of doing it mannually.( again, please correct me if I am wrong but the system on a B4 is different from a normal Japanese triptronic car, like u find on the swift- beatle shape one ) Yes maybe its far slower than 0.05 seconds on a F1 but its not that slow, and maybe faster than manual. But with a manuall you know u are fully in control of the car, its like the drivetrain is in ur hands, where as in the sport shift u are more distant with the car. This is one of the reasons a lot of blown engines on B4 s have been due to people using sportshift without much experiance by over reving at wrong gears.
-
No its not compulsory, thats why the car came out of the factory that way even with a turbocharger.... If u make it free flowing there is a chance u will burn more petrol. Maybe just a little.
-
cant comment on the break pads as i didnt change them yet.. got some bushes and boots replaced for around 5K from senok. Front pads will be in the range of Rs 20k, or slightly more... But since the pads are genuine it will last longer.
-
Besides, it's fun to throw that thing around while driving.[/font] Agree on that, moving the stick around does give u some sense of satisfaction... Sometimes after having driven the manual swift my hand automatically tries to shift the auto when on the B4 , its quite annoying.....
-
The main feature on the B4 is the sport shift on the steering. Think this was a first in a production car ( not 100% sure on that ). I cannot see why we prefer a manual, when even on F1 cars there is no stick ( ie Gear stick ) also on the latest Fararris or Lamboginis shift electronically.

Dyno is getting some sound proofing done,

I have a older ( 2004) swift sport, planning on giving it away and soon will post the pics on Auto Lanka. Car is great, 1500cc and got 100+ Bhp, pretty good for a small light car so its very fast. Engine internals maybe stronger than the normal swift as the car likes to rev a lot, maybe thats the way its built the red line is at 8. Not the best around coners but suspension is stiff. Think its got Eneki OEM white sport alloys and the steering and gear knobs are leather ( from factory ). But the best part is the OEM Reccaro light weight seats. Got discs on all 4 wheels and car is in great shape. Will probably sell it under Rs 2 Mn, so will be a steal as I have seen the same car, a 2003 one asking for 2.2Mn at a car sale down Pargoda Road. As advertising on the fourum is a No-NO I will stop But if anyone is interested please keep an eye out on the Auto Lanka Classifids during the next week.

Think he has already changed the rims, which means it could be the tires. But if the tyres are visibly ok when inflated could there be such a wobble even if the wires are broken ? so my guess is it could be something else. Maybe the lower arms .
-
Thanks for confirming that.... anyways I knew u guys would not do something like that. My father-in-law bought his car from you guys 12 years ago, car is still in perfect condition and I think he still brings it there for service.
-
There was another black car for sale few months back at a car sale on high level road, not sure if it was the same car that Carsons have. Had a look at it but was not in the best of shape....
-
You sold the car to Gihan right ? hope you guys properly kept him informed of the accident , Met him just after he bought it but didn't want the main point of conversation to be the accident. The car looks great, I dont know why he want to change the spolier.
