  2. Crosswind's post in Vehicle transfer fees 2016 was marked as the answer
    1. Fees have not changed since 2013
    2. If the papers are dated, then you will have to pay a penalty of Rs. 100 per day from the date marked in the papers. You can take insurance and revenue license in anyone's name. Even your pet dog's name if you like. But transfer needs to be done within 14 days or you will be liable for a fine.
They are also planning to implement more severe penalties for delayed transfers. In the future, people who keep using vehicles on open papers can be taken to courts and they can be subjected to a custodial (prison) sentence.
Further, if the date on the transfer papers is more than 6 months old, you CANNOT do a one-day transfer.
    3. It will be done along with the transfer.
    4. I am surprised to hear that. DS can accept papers for transfer on behalf of RMV. Anyway, you have a better chance of winning a fight with a lion than with a government official. If you are ok to travel, head over to Colombo and get it done.
  3. Crosswind's post in Cockroaches In My Car was marked as the answer
Actually Baygon should do the job. Contrary to the popular belief, Baygon is generally harmless to humans. The chemical compound in Baygon consists of pyrethroids (Prallethrin, Cypermethrin, Imiprothrin) which are neurotoxins to insects and they decompose fast under sunlight. What I would suggest is give the car a dose of Baygon and leave it out in the hot sun for a day.
  4. Crosswind's post in Spare Key For Nissan Tiida 2008 was marked as the answer
Ebay if you want an original. Ebay or aliexpress if you want a chinese made one.
Very rarely you will find an original brand new key due to the massive prices charged by manufacturer. Original one are almost always second hand.
  5. Crosswind's post in Led was marked as the answer
Do you understand that the headlight needs to be taken apart to install this?
Headlights are sealed and when that sealing is broken, water will seep in to the headlight and will cause damage. Dust/insects may also get in.
So if you have an ounce of a brain, don't damage your headlamp assembly to install this Vesak light.
or let me explain it to you in a way a Vitz owner would understand. When you sell the car, the potential buyers will notice that the headlight has been dismantled. They will suspect some problem or the other and the resale value of your car will go down
  6. Crosswind's post in Can I Get License If I Have Problem In Hand was marked as the answer
There was an incident in the past where a man with one arm was driving a school van and he got arrested after several years of running this school van. In this country, anyone can get a driving license. I bet your pet dog also can get one if you spend enough money.
There are special conditions where people with disabilities are given driving licenses. These are usually decided on a case by case basis after doctors recommendation. I think you need to go to NTMI (National Transport Medical Institute) and talk to the doctors there, your neighbourhood doctor's medical report won't be enough.
In certain cases, they will permit the driving license bearer to drive specially modified vehicles and these vehicles also have special registration numbers (PZ-XXXX). You may have seen war-disabled soldiers who would like to make a livelihood, driving three wheelers with PZ- plates.
However, Motor Neuron Disease is something that may affect your own safety and others' safety as well. Chances of you getting a driver's license with this condition is relatively low. You should check with NTMI on this one. The place is located opposite St. John's College, Nugegoda, very close to the flyover entry point.
