  2. QUOTE (Killer-B @ Apr 20 2010, 12:16 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Alright......I count out the N16,FB15 and the civic. (my sister will also be driving it frequently so I dont want a civic to change its original shape ) Here is what I found out about the mazdas: *323- Singapore Import comes with leather seats, security sys and has a higher ground clearance but minus airbags although 2001 and later models are equipped with single or dual airbags. *Familia- Japanese, lower ground clearance compared to 323, and all other standard features except for leather seats. So if I am going for a mazda, I personally prefer a familia. but a local baas told me that mazda spares are a little hard to find and expensive than of toyotas (in kandy) How is the mazda agent in colombo? As a Mazda owner thought of replying your post. If your going for a Mazda then definitely Familia is the better option over 323. Familia is the Japanese domestic model and i think it has a higher market value compared to 323. And a BJ5P is a better option than a BJ3P since BJ5P = 1500CC Engine = Better pulling power, Fuel economy.. BJ3P = 1300CC Engine = lower pulling power, lower Fuel economy compared to BJ5P... Spares might be a bit difficult to find compared to Toyota. But think about the bright side. The initial buying cost if you are going for a Familia compared to a corolla is less. And its a really enjoyable and durable ride. Dont think about the comments given by some people about Mazdas giving troubles often. Do some research in the web and you will find that Familia/323 is actually one of the most reliable vehicles in the world. I cant say much about the agent coz, i havent gone to them for any repair work. But i have heard that there service is not very good though. I have used my familia for about 6 months now and the only repair i had to do was replacement of rear tranny bushes. That was done by the famous Mazda experts in Pepiliyana and they provided a pretty good service.
  3. This should work http://pdftown.com/Nissan-Sentra-1994-2006-Manual.html
  4. Found these information in Warranty Direct. (http://www.reliabilityindex.co.uk/top10.ht...128339010848601) According to them the top 10 most reliable car manufacturers in UK are as follows. 1. SUZUKI 2. HONDA 3. MAZDA 4. TOYOTA 5. SKODA 6. SMART 7. CITROEN 8. HYUNDAI 9. NISSAN 10. FORD 6 out of the top 10 are japanese. They have considered only two car models from Suzuki. Therefore it might not be justifiable to consider them as number one. Seems like Honda tops the list followed by Mazda and Toyota in UK.
  5. Generally speaking, The preference order of your three options should be 1.Honda Civic 2.mazda Familia 3.Honda City But, since your budget is 15lakhs and you are looking for a english number one it might be bit difficult to find a Civic which is in good condition in that range. But your budget is more than enough for the other two models. Among those two, rather than trying to choose whats the best model, i think its better if you try to find a car which is in good condition in either model. Because even if you are buying an engish number car, you will be buying a car which has been used for around 10 years at that price range. From what i know, both those models are very reliable and true value for money if maintained properly. So what matters the most is the condition of the car. If you find a good familia first then go for it. if its a City then go for that. I faced the same problem as you few months ago and searched for a city/familia several months and finally ended up with a famila as it was the only one which was in good condition and fullfilled my expectations. it was a BJ5P, YOM=1999 Had all the features like Alloys, P/Sutters, P/Mirrors, 4Disc brakes and some extras like a fancy spoiler and color changing gauges. It cost me 14.5 lakhs. Checked the car with the mazda experts at pepiliyana and they told that everything was in fine shape. After three months i'm a damn happy car owner. Thought of sharing my experiance since it worked for me.
  6. Seems like some of the links like Honda civic manuals are not working. I didn't check all the links before making the post. But there are several links that work fine. for an example:- All Nissan sentra(Nissan sunny) manuals Some Subaru impreza manuals Some of the Mazda, BMW and Mitsubishi manuals
  7. I found this web site which offers service manuals for many car models. Guess this might be very useful for many of you guys out there. If you cannot find your car model, please try searching using an alternative name used in a different market. For an example try 'Nissan Sentra' instead of 'Nissan Sunny'. The link is: http://pdftown.com/
