Found a nice guy who does starter motor repairs for a reasonable charge. He runs a mechanic shop near Nawala Koswatta Junction, infront of Three Sinha roller door showroom (Sudarshana - 0714 988100). Mine, the aluminium body had to be welded as there was a slight crack and he replaced the bushes and armature which did cost 10,500/= including labor + travel. In overall he has done a great job with a good care and not trying any 'cheap' fixes. Drove for like a month now and the motor works smooth as a charm! By the way CarMart quoted 60K for a brand new motor .

My Peugeot 407 got the same kind of an issue with starting and the garage guy has cleaned the starter motor. But he said the needle razor is worn and the aluminium body is cracked. So he suggest to replace the motor ? Anyone can suggest a good place to get the starter motor repaired?

Yaek!!! i too hav pumped N for my 406 and felt like removed the suspension. Got back to normal air yesterday . front tire pressure was down by 1 but rear got same even after a month.

Yes. The Throve is in baththaramulla koswaththa (near thalangama police station) and the French Lion AM is in Pelawatta (Near the stadium). Both the places are running by the persons who left Carmart.

Dude... i recently got a D9 2.0L as my first car. I too went through all these hassles from the ppl outside about parts, the 2nd hand market and all. but finely i made up my mind to go for it and now am in love with it :-) .. but do consider about the fuel consumption and the maintenance of the car before you making a decision. My one does 7km/l in City and couldn't see much different in outer city but still the handling, the performance and the look all goes beyond that for me. So it will all depend upon your financial situation and what you going to expect from the car, and also how will you going to maintain the car. obviously this will need much attention that a jap one to keep at the top condition and you will see a big different in performance if you made a little crap at the repair. Am too doing the repair at this place in pelawatta and the guys are really professional and reasonable so you dont have to worry about the repairs, if you not going to use this much at outer city (coz not every mechanic can touch this car). So this is all from my side about 406.... good luk dude :-)

I too experienced this couple of days. Sometimes the site never loaded. Definilty coz the high traffic at this time. better they get some server hosted in SL since most of the traffic for AL site are comes from SL.

There is a good place at Pelawaththa (French Lion Automobiles) which i get repairs done on my 406 and they also having a work place for paint jobs at navala near open university. Heard they are the best for Peugeot repairs but donno about the paint work. Need to check about them. Thanks for the info dude.

My 406 had some scratches on the doors and boot. I tried a paint on two of the doors with a painter using a hand spray. But it clearly showed the difference between new paint and the original even though the color match was perfect. May be the cut was not done properly. there after i didnt look at the other dents and scratches coz didnt wanna ruin the original paint by doing any cheap paint jobs. But last week i knocked the left front door on a gate and now its in realy in need of a good paint job. But what am not sure is whether it will need to get painted the whole body to erase the dents and scratches or only doing the patches using the original color will be enough. But the place i knocked will need to get pulled. And the next problem is getting matched the maroon color am having. Anybody got this kind of a paint job at Spr*ym*ch or somewhere? Heard abt the horrible experiences at Mr. ***** and damn prices at KP and A*t* Mir**. I searched through the tons of threads on the forum but couldn't find much info on this kind of a situ.

Hi mate yeah this speed is not that much for the 406 and i touch 110 easily. But i didnt wanna try at that road and i wasn;t too sure about my car as it was about to put in to the garage for some repairs (purchased only a month back :-) ). and specially am not much familiar with that road. and i lost sight coz they flew away ... anyway nice to see a peugeot owner (i assume) in the forum. Thinking of making a complaint for the admin for not having "Peugeot" in specific brands at forum :-(

hit 130 km/h in 406, chasing a modified civic at hill street after IG-Nite. but we lost sight of that car :-)

But guys, now there is an option offered by some of the cops for us to pay the fine on the spot!! This hapened to me twice at Colombo. The cop has rejected the bribes saying that i should be punished for what i have done (U turn at ibbanwala junc and turnin right at senanayaka junc) but kindly offered the lowest fine which is 500 because this is my first time (i told him this is my first time )... but after writing even the papers the bugger was telling "ok il do a favor to you... as you are a busy person, you make the payment now which is 500 for the fine + 50 postal fee, so you dont have to bothr abr goin for the payments". but unfortunately i didn't have any 50's and the funniest part is he agreed to pay that postal fee of 50 for me.... Definitly he may hav thought that am an idiot to beliv him. But i didnt wanna bother about talkin coz atleast i got rid of waitin in annoying ques at city traffic.
