I’m not a Honda expert.... actually no expert in cars. But you could try this as well. I had the same prob with my Nissan, same symptoms. But didn’t have to replace the starter motor. Replaced the motor brush holder and did a motor overhaul at the same time. Now it works fine. Did it at the agents. Maximum it could be the solenoid. My suggestion is to try that first.

Thanx Don, Nexgen & Mazdaspeed. The guy has taken the starter motor for servicing and has replaced the solenoid. Let’s see after he fixes it back. I also think it’s better to take it to the agents, without going for the trial & error learning. Will let know what happened.

I'm not really not sure of the model. Probably AT212 96-98 model I guess. Not the new shell / and the normal rear lights (not clear indicators) Actually this is my farther-in-laws. He got a mechanic close-by since it happened y'day and the car was at home. The guy has by-passed the starter motor and has started the car. It’s an automatic transmission car. Once it’s started it started moving forward, no response what so ever to the gears. Even moved forward in the reverse gear. The guy has taken the starter motor for repair. I’m sure motor is fine. Any idea???

Just thought of posting on the same thread. This particular carina suddenly stopped starting. Not even a click. First thought it’s something to do with the starter motor. But when the power given straight to the engine it started moving, moved forward in every position... even in neutral and reverse. Gear leaver (A/T) feels really slack. Is this something minor?? Or the gear box is messed? It looks like the car is running on one gear, which could be the reason car doesn’t start the normal way. Advice plz...

Was parked with a flat.... Looked for the guy, but couldn’t find. Has done a lot of work to get it to that state. Paint job was not that good. Already started bubbling. Interior was not finished yet. Overall... not bad. Hats off for the effort.

I second the Fuel issue of the Primera, But overall a great car. Can go for a good condition auto or manual in 15-18 range.

U presses the button and the snow scoop comes out to collect the snow. j/k As far as I know it’ll reduce the sensitivity of the throttle pedal and reduce the wheel spin, and the car starts at a higher gear, gear 3 I guess. Heard that u get lot of kmpl on the snow mode. don't think it'll help in the rain.

That’s barely one foot off the pavement. There was not even 6 inches off my rear buffer, and I normally don’t leave a mile to the one in front of me. With the greatest difficulty I got mine outta there. If I had a lorry or something (may be even a Land Rover ) I surely must have reversed to him.
