Sorry guys… was outta country for few days. I think I’ve put the question in the wrong manner… posted the question on the day I left & couldn’t really checked the AL to get it sorted. Okkk… Here I go… My intention of the use is photographing of Gemstones. Currently I’m using a Point & shoot digital camera for the purpose. Photos I’m getting from that are not bad, but need some Photoshopping. I want to take a step further. My plan is to buy a DSLR camera with a kit lens. After getting better with the job with basic then I might consider a dedicated Macro lens. I use a light bed & a 5000k light set up to illuminate the object with a sparkling light. Later I want to custom build a better lighting set up and buy a ring sparkle light as Saturn suggested as well. So my question is with the kit lens which is the better bet in Macro photography. I prefer live view since it’s so much easier with what I’m doing. Have read somewhere D90 live view is not as accurate as it displays. Accuracy/focus is so important in Gemstone photography since it needs to be as sharper it could be. Appreciate your valuable input. Thanks.

Which is better??? Nikon D90 or Canon EOS 450D. Main area of use …. Macro photography Has anyone used either of them (Peri got a 450D I remember) How is it with Macro photography??? Sharpness and other features. pros & cons of the 2 models???

I don’t won’t to burst the bubble Jayathu, & no intention to discourage you or others interested. But I don’t think foaming a NPOC in SL is a really difficult task, the simple reason is we don’t have enough Primera owners in SL who shares an interest in joining such a club. You’ll be able to find a handful of members to start up, but might eventually dry up with not enough members to show in an event. Why don’t you look at a broader spectrum…? It’s better to join a club like NISMO CLUB, if you are interested & qualified. I was a member of the NPOC – UK, but totally forgot to chk and realized my ID is disabled now. Just got re-activated again. All the best anyway with the club… Count my FULLEST support if you want to go ahead with the idea. ....................... Do a count first and see how many you can take in as members… if it’s more than 10 (or 15) it’s worth a try.

Primera: again not too good on fuel – True, but by saving that extra couple of 100k you spend as premium buying a same or lesser class Toyota / Honda, you can pump that extra liters + pamper your ride with a nice set of a stereo.. etc… at the same time having a much more attractive, nicer looking ride. and feels very light and jittery (IMHO ) – Very light & jittery ????? Since it’s “IMHO” I wont say anything. but nice drivers choice though - Very true Manual would be my recommendation - Very true ……………………………………… Try to source a P11 Camino if possible… the best looking Primera ever built (IMHO) & definitely in your price range.
