  1. Here is what i found when I used the amazing tools called the BRAIN and GOOGLE.. going by this I'd say that something is wrong with your vehicle. Please don't get confused as to think I am helping you here... I am just showing what an incompetent fool you are. It took me less than 10 seconds to get this info. You should not be driving, let alone operating any machinery with the intellect you have. Having said that, I think you should get your vehicle checked. All the forums I just read on says it does in excess of 20kmpls. THe 2.0l variat also does more than 16kmpls.
  2. What did the car sale guy tell you the KMPL is? It is a van, right? so you cant expect car levels of fuel consumption.
  3. The Hybrid gang that is now crying sounds a lot like the Golden Key gang.... invest in something dubious and expect the country and the tax payer to bail them out. Had I been the Finance Minister, I wouldn't have given them even an audience.
  4. This is how the 2008 mortgage crisis in the US started too.... free availability of credit to buy things people can't afford...
  5. There was a complicated route to drop a few people off... We went around in circles a bit. Yes, while I understand and do have engaged in a secondary job myself to make ends meet, once upon a time in a far off land, the fact of the matter is, it's a choice people make... and people can make a wiser choice than paying through your nose for a minor luxury. I am surprised coz i know people who do multiple jobs to pay off education or supplement a low income family... but to pay off a car? Really? But then, like I said, who am I to judge. What do I know, I drive a cheap 800,000 rupee car...
  6. Extremely. will not say where the guy worked because I was shocked to hear of his employer and his day job. Lets just say it is one of the big boys in the corporates in LK... with recent massive IPOs. I knew that I was not with a normal cab driver when I noticed his attire. He was for all intents and purposes, could have been driving home after work. But with a cab meter inside. But I must add here that I am not being judgmental about people 's choices. But it begs the question why people get in to debt that they can hardly service to keep up appearances.
  7. So I encountered a sad thing last night. Was out at Russel Peters show and since parking was an issue took a cab to and from the venue. The return trip when i Called for a cab, a white Vezel pulls in front of me and asks if I asked for a cab. I thought it was a joke and then realized it was bloody serious. Seems like the guy bought the Vezel recently and his salary does not cover the 'pinance', so after work in the evening he runs the Vezel to make some extra bucks. The hire was 540... I gave the bugger 600... sad. So yes, someone's worst fears have come true that they are indeed running Vezels as taxis.
  8. Why on earth would you run till you are out of gas? You can kill an engine or the fuel pump with that little trick... Are times that bad for Vezel/Hybrid drivers that they run till they are bone dry?
  9. LOL!!! No machang.. all Japanese manufactures have now come to an agreement to cap the Bhp at Vezel levels as the Sri Lankan Vezel owners are boycotting cars that have even one horse more than their precious Vezel. They are worried that Vezel owners, such as you, will start punching people up if they get overtaken on the road by a car that has 1bhp more.. .kinda like impotent men with ED beats up their women or in some cases their boy friends when they cannot raise the flag and deliver the goods...
  10. I had a Y33 Cedric GranTurismo, V6, 3.0, auto. Engine is chain driven VQ30DE... guess the later gen also had the same engine. Drinks juice as it is going out of style, made the Subaru feel like a Hybrid. Lucky to have got 5kmpls. But it pampers you all the way. Mine had leather electric seats, sun roof, buttons for everything. Engine is a work horse and will put in +500,000kms without any issues as long as it was taken care of. Mine had 225,000kms and still hummed like new. Takes about 8 litres of oil and costs close to 18k to service at A*W. Gear box is a known weak point as it is only a 4 speed and really struggles to cope with the fairly large torque curve of the VQ XX DE.. which is the same bloodline as the new GTR engines and the old 300Zxs. Fixing such a box will cost you dear. Body parts are very hard to source and those who have know its rare and normally charges premium prices. Build quality is typical Japanese and ages well. But it all depends on who owned it prior. Its a luxo barge and can cover lots of ground quickly and comfortable, but there is a price to pay. Remember, as much as it is tempting to buy guzzlers due to prevailing gas prices, the honeymoon will not last.. already government budget for the fuel is over by 15Bn... So its a matter of time the new bride crosses her legs and stops the free for all. If you are asking if the car advertised on AL is the going rate... well it all depends on what the car is worth to you and the current owner and come to a happy middle. Personally I Would not pay 2.5Mn for that. But then going by current rates, that's a lot of car for 2.5.
  11. Trip computer gives an approximate figure based on the software... no better than the retarded calculation the Go Green centers tell the gullible masses about the fuel consumption of your car when you go for the green test. They have given Allion figures to my Forester ... Seen ads where people quote that also.
  12. YOu wish...
  13. Would have been hilarious if he did crash and maimed himself... that would have been one less monkey off the road. I think we should all start Brake Checking these MoFos and teach them a lesson in road etiquette.
  14. Hari ne machang.. Wash the engine every 4 months or every service no...
  15. There used to be a street vendor in Nugegoda, near the super market. Circa 1980. Every evening, around dusk he would start pumping up the pressure in his PetroMax lamp to light the shop up, When he starts the whole process, people gather around to watch. (Lack of FB, Twitter and Online porn made people curious of these things those days I suppose) Once he gets the lamp going, he goes around with a small hat and collects coins form the onlookers. TRUE STORY!!!!! Our citizenry is so easy to fool.
  16. They told apple not to build phones too... but did they listen? No....
  17. ahh... from the same people who gave such hits as the H2O powered FB15, Rocket Chichi, Self Bonding Government servants, etc, etc. We cant bloody hold OLs or ALs without f**king it up, we don't have a properly function health care system, our tertiary education system can't hold one semester without a disaster, or hearing of a poor student committing suicide due to inept administration allowing sadistic ragging to continue , yet we are striving to produce not cars, not day to day runners, not luxury cars, not even Super cars, we are building HYPER CARS. Talk about not trying to get the basics right. Hope Floats in the Aascharyamath Yahapalanized Miracle of Asia. Very very Hiken Puna worthy news.
  18. Last Friday we were on our way to Matara, around 11am as we approached the Galle Exit, we couldn't believe what we saw, a freaking silver Prius reversing to tak e the exit... He obviously was too busy staring at his fuel gauge and missed the exit... he was near the merge lane way past the exit and was reversing... so what did we do as civic minded citizens? Called 1969 and ratted on him.. ROFL. I hope they screwed his thel hinganna ass.
  19. Methana podi naya scene ekak ne, machang...
  20. Does this happen when you first start after a long time? If so then it is normal as the Idle up is there to bring the car to operational temp as soon as possible. If its a Toyota, get the air/fuel filters, plugs, IACV, breather lines, vacuum lines, throttle body, injectors all cleaned, checked or replaced so you can eliminate all know culprits that causes idling issues. Doubt it is anything serious.
  21. Not every hybrid driver is a moron. Correct. But a lot of morons are driving Hybrids these days. And a majority of them are Taxis, making it difficult to separate the wheat from the chaff. Most of these hybrids drivers are either straight off driving a tuktuk or has minimal road etiquette or courtesy to other drivers. Another large percentage became first time drivers of cars in general through the low cost Hybrids they bought due to tax reduction, so again, they are clueless to the way civilized people drive, Example, hogging both lanes, driving with High Beams on dazzling oncoming drivers or sometimes following cars with the H Beam on. I blame that on our Learner School fraternity, as they are only in it to make a quick buck and don't care to impart important knowledge to the students. Students also think the moment they can keep the car from stalling and in a straight line, they are f**king Damon Hill. Even lorry drivers know better. But sadly most of these Hybrid drivers are clueless morons.... Its a matter of time before you start seeing Vezels as taxis plying the Katu Highway... I refer to the average Hybrid owner as 'New Rich In Debt Godaya m*******r' ...
