Cant Tic Tac Toe With The Final List
Supra_Natural replied to megatron's topic in General Automotive
Im with peri on this one... the A32 cefiro might be less liquid when it comes to resale time, but then again, it is by far the most comfortable and spacious car of that lot. As long as you find one that has been well maintained and looked after you'll have a very nice ride. Also, A32 have pretty much hit the bottom of their depreciation curve, and its unlikely that they will go down a lot further, at least in the medium term. The presea and the pulsar are ok cars but the pulsar is a pretty basic thing (unless you get a VZR of course), and the presea is really just an FB15 with a party frock on... not really special at all. P.S. to those who state "you cant find a cefiro for 1.1 mill" you guys are prolly thinking about the A33 like Pradfred has. Megatron's talking about the earlier model A32, like sharkster used to have. -
damn! looking great CHAP! has she been started up yet?

wow ace, rare to see you lose your cool online... whats the scene bro? we all know ek3 is a bit of a loon incidentally, so i wouldnt be surprised at all if he were fooling with several user accounts. Honestly Ek3, if you seriously are doing that you are beyond help man!
-
yes that group that you mention was an early attempt to start an FB community for the AL crowd, before the official AL group.... as you might have noticed by the number of members, it didnt quite work out... lol /yes, i was responsible.

Oh for cryin out loud... not that old chestnut again!! for heaven's sake dude, stop believing every nutjob conspiracy theory you come across! one of the main reasons we ARENT driving pure electric cars is because BATTERY TECHNOLOGY ISNT ADVANCED ENOUGH!! not enough to make an electric car as practical for proper duty cycle usage as an ordinary gasoline/diesel/hybrid vehicle. Auto companies didnt make a secret agreement with the oil barons to stop making them so the oil guys could sell oil... dude, that sorta thinking went outta date with the 90's. Even if we accept your idea for a second, what do you imagine is stopping private individuals from coming up with a proper electric car then? i suppose your going to claim that the oil companies secretly have a mafia-type killing organization that quietly disposes of people who invent such a thing, then ensure that the idea is buried without trace maybe?

Many happy returns of the day oh shiny headed one!! here's to loads of success, on track and off, in the coming year!
-
belated best wishes rippe mate, sorry i couldnt wish on the day, was outta town for the long weekend... hope you had a blast anyway!
-
we've had several threads about this, general consensus was that it doesnt work and is merely a scam. In fact, just google "nano fuel saver" and you'll get plenty of sites which have tested this and similar products and found them to be ineffective. So I'd say dont bother, spend the money on a good tuneup of your engine instead.

Interesting read, didnt actually contain anything that isnt already known by the average gearhead who has done the panchikawatte round a couple of times, but should prove very informative for anyone who's new to that rigmarole (most of the auto buying public in other words) Thanks for putting this up machan.

I'm thinking there will be a LOT of people to disagree with you there.... Nissan Primera owners in particular, also those who own BMW E36s, Mazda 323s, Alfa Romeo 156s.. and so on.
-
okay so then we're agreed, the correct guesser gets 24 to a maximum of 36 hours to post a new question, if not the floor is open..
-
Indeed it is! please go ahead and put up a new one mate! additionally, i think we need to make it a trivia rule that if the person who has the correct guess doesnt put up a new one within a set time period, say.... 3 days, then the floor is automatically thrown open.... that way we can keep it rolling because the thread seems to always falter when someone who guesses right neither post nor yields... what say guys?
-
damn! i expected this one to be at least a tad bit difficult.... you've gone and found the exact pic as well! Samishka, you are correct!
-
why is it that the trivia thread keeps dropping off? even the instigator of the original idea appears to have abandoned it, dilesh, FOR SHAME!! ah well, here's a little something to help..
-
Once again dilesh has come of with a thread that's sure to be a long lasting one! great find D!!
-
This really is NOT news... if you go back to the top of the thread, the original poster was told not to ask public questions on the forum about drag locations and times for this very reason. Heck its been known for ages!
-
Really? the phrase that came to my mind was kinda similar but had the words "like a" before "look" and the last word was slightly different (by one letter) as well!
-
Very neat looking E46 there madmax... how come you didnt go straight for the 330i though? and whats with the 4wd, does it snow a lot where you are?

You make a solid point here VVTi... Although it's true that we as automotive enthusiasts in general should help out another enthusiast with their needs, It also stands to reason that we should equally point out situations where modifications and such could quite conceivably have a dangerous effect. This is ESPECIALLY true in the case of something like a maruti or an alto, both of which were designed to be simple and cheap economy cars NOT performance cars in any way!! so in this context, pointing out that the sensible thing to do would be to dispose of the alto and get something more capable of handling upgrades is nothing more than the members of the forum being responsible people. Sure, maybe we could be a bit more subtle about expressing our views, but the point still does stand. @ MasterDon. while it may be so that what an individual does to his car is his own business, it still stands to reason that we on this forum have a social responsibility to point out when certain proposals can lead to end results which are potentially dangerous. As i said earlier, certain replies on this thread could have been phrased in a more diplomatic manner, but the underlying point is that an alto is an eminently unsuitable car to do "performance" modifications to. Also Ek3, it would be a good thing if you stopped considering it nothing less than your duty to respond to every single negative comment on the thread as if it were a personal insult towards you. If you look towards the beginning of the thread, VVTi made a fairly ordinary (if somewhat sarcastic) comment, you then proceeded to wade right in and fire off two all capitalized replies to it, and then the fun began..... So if you learn to perhaps show a bit of restraint, and conduct your own doings in a dignified manner, we can avoid issues like this which serve no purpose whatsoever.

M-o-t-o-r-c-a-d-e have Auto Meter Tachs... not top notch in build quality and such, but they are the only place i know of where you can get an aftermarket tach readily. Strut braces I'm not sure... fairly uncommon request for an alto so i doubt they will be widely available. in addition, I very much doubt that a strut bar is going to have any effect on body roll... what its supposed to do is reduce chassis FLEX http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Strut_brace what you need is an anti roll bar http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anti_roll_bar

I realize this is a day or two late, but i've got to say WOOAAH! that was some great stuff there damn_it!! Congrats on the result, was a super drive.

If you can find a K11 that fits within your year of manufacture Criteria, then that by FAR is the best choice of the lot.
-
The soluna is an Ok car. Just be aware that it was not made in Japan, and is actually a rebadged and slightly restyled version of the old Toyota Tercel/Corsa It generally feels less well put together than a Tercel or Corsa in my experience, Feels more tinny and Maruti-ish. Overall i'd say its not a bad choice, especially if year of manufacture and registration number are important to you (they really shouldnt be ), but there are better cars for the same money. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Toyota_Soluna#Asia

Well said indeed...
