  1. fantastic.... ALL HAIL THE MAHINDA CHINTANAYA.... this'll ensure that he can get himself an armoured Rolls at the very least..... the rest of us are gonna have to drive around in bullock carts soon.... honestly though, it wouldnt matter so much if they cut duty on locally assembled cars or something but are the dipsh*ts even doing that?? of course not, wouldnt be able to line their pockets if everyone bought local cars.....
  2. Unimo are the agents i think, It's supposedly an exact (unlicensed of course) copy of the old Terio, with a different interior. Quality and assembly are apparently the same story as with anything automotive that rolls outta china....

    Z3

if it is indeed the car that belonged to the racing personality xxx mentioned, then suffice to say, That lamp post story is apparently one of many.....
  4. Wow that sounds Awesome! please do post Pics/Vids when you can.... would love to see the beast..
  5. Dead Silence actually, I think they were worried that we were going to plough straight ahead!
  6. affirmative, and i must add, it does look really good......
  7. Saw that today, in a Car sale thereabouts, this might be the same car that was in the motor mag for 750K.... @ PradFred - coincidentally, I've got A Mk1 Escort 2 door as well a rather ratty example im afraid, But it is a rare-ish 1300GT 2 door... got a good deal on it, but am kinda sitting on the project for the moment, trying to figure out what to do.... btw, If you dont mind me asking, How many cars do you have altogether?
  8. honestly, I thought this sort of thing had stopped, but clearly there are still plenty of jokers around who go around doing this, now they actually take pictures of other people's cars on the street and claim 'em to be their own..... Hilarious... and I agree machan, Hi5 is now completely useless, FB is where it's at..... you wont find many posers there.....
  9. cars ARE meant to be driven after all .... mcCallum road has always scared me just a bit because people tend to jump across it at unexpected times..... but that bend is really nice, remember taking it at just under 60 Mph once in the 406 (in the dead of night mind you).... to be honest, i thought i had overcooked it there, but no drama at all... just sailed through... With 6 people in the car as well, 4 of the fairer sex @ Arc, Rock steady machan..... The GC is no crude old Ladder framed truck ya know..... It may not be as good as say an X5 or a Range Rover Sport on the road, but it's still pretty darn good!
  10. Second time im pulling this thread back.... but since the last time i posted have had a few more "interesting: high Velocity experiences.... Namely : 65 MPH (aprox 110 Km/H)- VW Beetle 1969, On Greenpath (believe it or not, Dragging with another Beetle ) 75 MPH ( aprox 130) - 1959 Austin Healey "frogeye" sprite, down GP again.... 190 Km/h - The Jeep, Somewhere between Dambulla and Anuradhapura.
  11. Nice.... good to see you back on AL by the way.... been some time hasn't it?
  12. Nope and if there was, there would be no place big enough to park 'em all i guess! Will definitely try and make it, I do have an ancient ford (a model which is unfortunately unrelated to Mazzies), but it's still being put back together..... will try n bring it out nonetheless, though it isnt exactly "Show Quality"
  13. How 'bout getting one yourself? or are you preparing for GT5 so you can go out n buy a PS3? Just noticed you've cracked the 4k mark as well......
  14. hehe yes, sony wouldnt be able make as much money otherwise ne.....
  15. Yep, especially in the case of used buys, like the oil.... doesn't make a as big a difference as the oil change though, but it was noticeable. Im guessing that it IS because of less drag...
  16. yep, when you go to "oil change" you can see the color of the oil.... my personal policy on GT is to change it every 6 or 7 races, regardless of color... it helps.... and if you buy a Used car, changing oil gives a significant performance benefit Oh and by the way, washing the car from time to time actually gives a performance benefit, chiefly in top speed, I found out that after a car wash, there is a bit of an increase in speed, especially on the faster tracks.... Amazing that they've thought of all this huh? I cant wait to see what GT5 is gonna be like , unfortunately, might have to save up for PS3 before that...
  17. he probably said this because he cant get his car out in time for the meet
  18. Indeed..... and probably even worse for the change, as at least here there was a degree of restraint.... "Gaala kada gaththa haraka" is the expression that comes to mind....
  19. If i may make a suggestion, you might want to consider B*ra stereos in dehiwala as well.... range i believe is not quite as big as the other two, but pricing is competitive, and they do the installations and such very well (in my experience anyway)
  20. Resident Retard eh? Ahhh... I think i know who you're talking about.... Coming back to the question, what exactly happened to Dragster?? he hasnt been seen since something like june last year :S
  21. I'd say try your hand at Macullum (i think that's how it's spelled) road... the Old book shops there have most of the newer magazines at half price....
  22. Correct as usual Don.... I Just heard by the way, that this vehicle had apparently skidded, Tipped over on it's side, and hit it's roof on the tree.... unconfirmed info, but it would explain the damage to an extent...
  23. A guy in the United Arab Emirates has just spent 6, 750,000 US Dollars buying......... A License plate! Thats right, A NUMBER PLATE for his car... Six Million Seven Hundred and fifty Thousand Dollars! http://jalopnik.com/354141/man-buys-675000...ith-in-humanity honestly, that is just Insane.....
