    Bmw Z10

Thanks for the link.... yeah it looks fairly decent, but IMO they should make it a coupe, this shape (at least from this angle) looks like it would be better with a metal top ........... but then i guess they wouldn't be able to call it a Z10 huh?
  4. yes machan, i'm hoping to start by next year to get my licenses. at present i'm doing CIM, and working in our family firm, which is in agriculture...... hence D_z's little jibe @ d_z
  5. well, I think Sharkster is innit? as for me i'm going to get into aviation, so does that count??
  6. uhh.... guys?? can we call a truce here and enjoy the meet tomorrow? IMO, I think we should just stop arguing and have fun.... Cheers
  7. Hey man, thanx a lot..... yes, Me, D_Z and milindu will be coming pretty early...... Thanks again
  8. The Landwind is made by Jiangling Motor's of china, it looks like a early 90's Isuzu MU/Vauxhall Frontera with a different grille..... Probably the chinese doing their favourite task...... Straight rip off of other people's design.... It has apparently scored Zero in euro crash tests..... Typical piece of C**P
  9. Yikes Especially the one with the 2 Bikes...... did you SEE that dudes arm? Must've smarted like S***
  10. MADZ if i may just point out to you.... some VERY old ads with cars that are long gone now are still on the classifieds.... Case in point, i'm looking for a VW Bug, and i came across this PERFECT car in the classifieds link http://www.autolanka.com/ad.asp?ID=985 but the number given doesn't work, and there are no other contact details, and as i see from the ID, it seems to be an old ad as well....... so it does inconvenience buyers as well in a way...... IMO perhaps you should look at nexgen's suggestion of doing a review of the ads (If it is not too time consuming), even once a month would be good i guess......' Also (and this is slightly OT) would it be possible to put up a "Wanted" Section? Thanks S_N
  11. hey, congrats on your purchase and may you have years of trouble free motoring ahead.......
  12. As is the B class.......
  13. Ah I c..... okay..... Deffa mate....... I'm cmin with D_z so will see you there
  14. Well happy it's like this........ there are two versions of the 406: the D8 ( 1996-99), and the D9 (1999-2003), the differences lie in the gearshift, clutch linkage, and some tweaks to the suspension. Visually, the D9 has Crytal lights and a different grille as well as tail lights..... A D8 will go for around 1.3-1.5mill depending on model, and most D9's will be in the 1.9-2.2mill bracket........ IMO you should go for the D9....... also keep in mind that some D9's may come in at a lower price due to spec differences, owner needs etc....
  15. My pick would have to be the Chase scene in Steve Mcqueen's Classic Bullitt 1967 mustang 390GT and 1969 Black Dodge Charger R/T on the Streets of San Francisco.......... Movie magic at its very best!!!!
  16. um Peri and Hola, please put this down to the ignorance of a newbie, but why are you guys at each other's throats most of the time? apologies in advance, i'm just wondering...... very sorry if i'm outta line......
  17. I dont entirely agree with you on this peri, doesn't the mere fact that the traffic cops are so lazy and disorganized, and so very unpredictable (you fly past at 120 and they take no notice, but go at 62 and they stop you- personal experience) make a mockery of the speed limits anyway?? and as to your second point, nutters will probably always be nutters regardless of what the limits are don't you think? this is just IMO btw.....
  18. the Smart was actually very thoroughly engineered with it's "Tridion" Safety cell and composite panels... Not to mention the lessons learned from the A class debacle btw, it turns out that subsequent to This particular test, the Jiangling PR spin doctors went into overdrive mode, accused the test of not being legitimate, and then produced ANOTHER test (at a lower speed) that showed that the thing was perfectly safe!!!! http://www.china.org.cn/english/2005/Oct/144289.htm note the website as well another thing the Chinese are VERY good at, is blaming other people for their mistakes!!!!!!
  19. But I just noticed that this "landwind" thing looks a LOT like the Vauxhall Frontera from the 1990's...... Licensed? or a Straight rip off as usual?? 'cos the Frontera was never BAD in safety tests......
  20. good heavens the thing folded up like cardboard!!!!!! im guessing that the engine (or what was left of it) would have gone through the lower halves of the front seat occupants........ don't they have even BASIC safety testing in China????
  21. Well it's probably because the Type 3 never had a following as such..... not like the old bug.... And Rust seems like a Generic VW problem in Sri Lanka isn't it? I've looked at a few bugs recently and one of them had so much floorboard rot that you could literally see the Ground!!!! as you can imagine, i did NOT take a test Drive (I guess it's the maintenance Habits) and on the same car the rear arches were so rotten that when you poke your finger, it went THROUGH the metal!!!!
  22. oh... cool. and im definitely 100% with you on the fastback...... it was the "variant" name hat had me confused.... as that version is not exactly a looker.... but i assumed you meant the fastback anyway...... Btw, do you know how many of those are in SL? I read somewhere else that there are approx. 2000 Bugs in the country..... so how many Type3/Variants do you estimate could be here?
  23. Correct, and as i've told D_Z about a DOZEN times already..... my budget on this one is half that at maximum..... btw GTAm, I was a bit confused..... this car was generally known as the VW Type 3 rght? i thought "Variant" was only used for the estate version?? please correct me if i'm wrong...... Cheers
  24. Woah pardner justa cotton pickin' minute naow!!! dont ya be sayin' nothin 'bout NASCAR ya hear? seriously though mate, theres rather more to it than driving around in circles, have you noticed how close the racing is? they are almost bumper to bumper, at 200+MPH!!! and doing that just a cpl of feet from a solid concrete wall has GOT to be exciting..... But for me it has got to be 1. WRC 2. F1 3. NHRA Drag Racing
  25. I've seen the Micro Privilege (thats the more normal looking one isn't it?), up close and I have to say i was V impressed..... couldn't do a complete get in, prod and check session, but the panel gaps were tight, the doors shut with a confident click (rather than the "bang" of a maruti) and overall it seemed to be a very well engineered, thoughtfully put together piece of kit.... however, this is just a visual inspection, and not a complete one @ that..... but on this evidence, i've gotta say two thumbs up to the micro guys....... and lets hope that Mr Chinthana and our record-breaking cabinet manage to see some sense and give them a helping hand eh?
