Wrong. The beetle was always a 2 door car. Volkswagen NEVER produced a 4 door production version themselves. The picture you've posted is a conversion of some kind. Therefore, since the New Beetle has always been a retro homage to the original, it makes sense that it's a 2 door. The point of this model is not practicality after all, it's just a style statement.

What happened to your beloved Chana? Drove it through a flood again? I accept your point however, the Micro agents seem to be really terrible when it comes to customer service whether pre or post sale. Its even more unfortunate now that they are actually starting to get decent products that people may want to buy.

This particular car is leagues ahead of Marutis and the like when when it comes to driving characteristics IMHO. It actually feels like a small euro car in the old VW polo/pug 206 mould. Yes that is high praise I know, but it actually is that good to drive (recalcitrant engine apart)

Test drove it a couple of months back. Its actually quite a decent car. Ride and handling are extremely good for it's class and price, miles ahead of the indian crap. It reminded me of a pug 206, no exaggeration. Engine is very reluctant to rev though, and the gearbox is notchy. No Auto option AFAIK. Build quality is also much improved from the first micros. No rattles, creaks or squeaks, nothing fell off and panel gaps and such are pretty good. Have to see how it holds together over the longer term. It DOES have a 1.3L engine though so dunno how economical it will be. Claimed figure is 10 in town.
