  1. Universal Battery in Punchi Borella has amaron batteries.. I don't have a contact number at the moment, will try and dig one up. found one: 2699453
  2. Super work pathola machan... Kudos to you and your dad for enduring over near two decades!
  3. you really ought to put this up on the Autolanka classifieds dude, then we can discuss it here with no issues at all. It sounds interesting though, wouldnt mind taking a look at it myself.
  4. good question really, Chaturike what does it matter who the owner is, do you want to write a profile for the papers or something? Info so far states that it belongs to the american vehicle dealership down kirimandala mawatha. Which has already been stated at least twice within the last week or so on threads opened about the car.
  5. Presea and the doctor sunny share most of the same parts mechanically, only body parts may be a bit difficult but nowadays its getting tough to find even doctor sunny bits since the cars are ageing. Fuel consumption is not really very different to the sunny either, maybe 1 Km/l or so since the Preseas a bit heavier. Dont knock a car (or anything else even for that matter) without knowing the full story. The safe option is not always the best option.
  6. If you dont mind going for a bit of a left field option: http://www.autolanka.com/ad.asp?ID=19956 Its got the space, its got a pretty bombproof diesel that can be fixed by anyone and its gonna be comfy too. Cosmetically it looks pretty decent as well, Im sure that price can be knocked down by a decent amount. And before anyone points it out, yes Im aware that it is old and that resale may be a less easy than say a corolla.
  7. charades are a little bit of a lottery... some examples are absolutely bulletproof and go on for ever, while others are utter buckets of Sh**. Its mostly maintenance of course but they do seem to have strange issues from time to time. Having said that, all of this is hearsay as I haven't owned one myself. The Starlet is a good idea, as long as its been taken care of and doesnt have rust issues its a good buy.
  8. Im going to risk going OT to post up this link, it seemed extremely appropriate for this thread : http://www.cracked.com/funny-3809-internet...ent-techniques/ See how many you can spot
  9. I guess you could say that. I noticed when putting my own camera into it's bag that unless you're very gentle with it the focusing ring can turn due to the pressure. So by defaut I've gotten used to switching it to MF before storage.
  10. Give milindu a buzz - 0777-699162 - Mal Key Rent a Car
  11. I have issues with a lot of the content of that very long post, but let me just address this particular point which I frankly find more than a little bit insulting. (And please dont bother telling me to shove things where the sun dont shine etc, its a bit of a tired joke now). http://forum.autolanka.com/index.php?s...mp;#entry113405 http://forum.autolanka.com/index.php?s...mp;#entry113403 http://forum.autolanka.com/index.php?s...mp;#entry113424 If you'd just visit any of those links (all put up within the last day or two), you'll find that they all have people asking for advice on various matters. And guess what? They've GOTTEN useful advice. Kinda deflates your argument a tad, don't it?
  12. Y'know it's funny Just the other day I was thinking that the AL forums have gotten a bit dull as of late. and then this thread rolls along! Are we done yet? I was just gonna go make some popcorn...
  13. I've always been interested in the event but was chatting to one of the blokes who does a lot of tuning of the race lasers one day and he told me that there isn't much point in new drivers entering that at the moment as the existing crowd are such old hands at it that there isn't much chance of a newbie actually getting anywhere. Is this really the case?
  14. You aren't being entirely fair here max, As someone else has also pointed out the Camaro now does have 4 wheel independent suspension and is supposed to handle pretty decently for it's size. Even a few UK mags were quite surprised and semi impressed by it. American cars are nowhere near the same league as euros of course, but they do have their own appeal: looking sharp, going fast in a straight line and also (I'd imagine) being cheap to maintain apart from the fuel costs if you live in america. Have you tried driving a v8 camaro yet? Im guessing you should attempt it. A guy down here who has quite a few BMs and the like had gotten a test drive of this thing and was apparently pretty impressed, though obviously not with the asking price! .
  15. G8 GXP, G8 GXP!!!
  16. Im guessing it's a Laser since it's 1982.
  17. Not a moderator dude, just a member who's been around for a while. And has time on his hands
  18. Dude, has it escaped your notice that the site you linked to isnt actually in english? also, F50 just asked a question as to what exactly you saw in this particular site, so there's no need to be rude about it.
  19. Would it be impertinent to suggest that gearing might also be an issue here, especially in the case of the Toyotas? Cos I've driven a carina GT with a manual box once and I felt that the gearing was more suited to a starship than a "Sports" Saloon!
  20. err... I wouldn't say that. vshiznet has a fair bit of experience with making hondas move pretty damn quickly.
  21. oh ok.. was just curious to see if anyone had actually attempted to tweak a VZR.
  22. Or just photographed himself sitting in it maybe? The pictures in the linked album only show him sitting in the drivers seat, not actually driving. The car is technically supposed to be here only for the conversion right? is there any truth in the story that they might offer it for sale here after all?
  23. Actually... No it isn't. Plenty of threads where people have posted up non Car related stuff, thats what "The Lounge" is for after all! We like to think of ourselves as a community here on AL, so the occasional non car query is never looked upon as a problem as long as it is presented properly like here. You should read background a bit more before you jump in dude. Causes unnecessary issues otherwise.
  24. So What if the guy with the VZR paid the same amount of attention to tuning his ride: changing gearing, remapping ecu etc etc that the honda driver would have to do to take down a stock VZR? does that mean the VZR still gets toasted, or does the balance get restored?
