  1. you sound as though you're proud of it!
  2. how could i forget? man it seems like only yesterday but it was nearly 3 years ago!! Good times man, good times
  3. I think devinda would disagree there... vehemently too! but you're right, a well sorted and unmolested EG is a very nice thing to drive..... Gearhead used to have a lovely, bone stock Dual Carb MX when he was in SL (still has it down here in fact) and I thoroughly enjoyed driving it, was VERy quick for an econobox.... he loved that car so much that he went to aussie and opted to buy the exact same thing!
  4. that car is one of the nicer "Modified" eg's i've seen... but even that has its moments of lunacy, for example, the ad claims a turbo timer... now WHY would an NA car need one of those?
  5. Many happy returns of the day dude! and may you have a year of enjoyable Italian motoring and NOT be plagued by random mechanical or electrical maladies! All the best!
  6. is it really that bad? but machan at that kinda money you expect it to last some time at least, cant complain to them? incidentally, just outta curiosity, any place where one can get a good branded Tach here in SL?
  7. Many happy returns of the day man!
  8. Nope, GDI stands for Gasoline Direct Injection which IS an EFI system, but differs from standard (Multi-Point) EFI in that the fuel is directly injected into the combustion chamber of the cylinders http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gasoline_direct_injection Mitsubishi were the first japanese manufacturer to bring GDI to market, and GDI has generally been available only on cars that were for the japanese domestic market, and some models for the west. We never got GDI on brand new vehicles in Sri Lanka AFAIK... the CS lancers DID come with carb and EFI variants, but the EFI was conventional Multi-Point injection, and not GDI. The Lancer Cedia is actually the Japanese Domestic version of this generation of lancer, and all cars here were recon imports from japan, which is why They have the GDI system.
  9. M_O_T_O_R_C_A_D_E Should have what you need. Most of these aftermarket Tachs fit any engine as far as i know.
  10. dayum! THAT thought didnt occur... Its getting difficult to keep track of sarcasm vs reality on this thread P.S. You shoulda PM'd me
  11. Bollocks... They are named COROLLA levin and SPRINTER trueno for a reason y'know, cos they are based on the corolla and sprinter, with most bits interchangeable.... only problems you'd have would be perhaps bodywork bits... Incidentally I wasnt talking about the quasi-legendary AE86 RWD Trueno and Levin, I meant the later cars. I have a feeling the "Hachi-Roku" will be too "old" for the tastes of our friend here...
  12. HAPPY HAPPY BIRTHDAY ASH!!! hope you have a thumping time today and a wonderful year ahead!!
  13. The Don will have my head on a plate for this, but if you're looking for a 2 door coupe then you could look at one of the 2 door Mitsubishi Mirages... nice car, and if you do get one try to keep it so. The only other option i can think of is the toyota Cynos or possibly even the late model Toyota Levin or Trueno. Or if you dont mind a rather older option, a Nissan RZ1 or an NX Coupe might do.... Heck, even an autozam possibly.
  14. I had a feeling he was going to take this as encouragement.... and I was Right!
  15. Joking aside my friend, to answer your first question, Eg civics in general sell for between 900k and 1.1 million depending on condition, options, mods, rice etc. as for the two door (Im assuming you mean a hatchback since we dont have the coupe here), they are rarer than the proverbial "Hen's teeth" because they were never imported in large quantities like the 4 door. Most 2 doors around are the legendary high performance SIRs , and almost all of those are used as race cars now. There WAS a 2 door standard hatch being advertised in the papers for a few weeks, you can check that out. As to your other questions, like devinda pointed out you might not get a lot of help here since most members take a dim view of the sort of modifications you are proposing to do.... For your information, adding a huge body kit to an EG8 is only going to give a negative effect to the performance of the car, and it'll hurt it in other ways too, such as increased wear and tear and also high fuel consumption. This is all a result of the weight. Therefore you would be much better advised spending that cash on some performance modifications (if you must have an Eg8 that is)... or if you're looking for Real performance, about the same amount of money that an EG plus mods will cost can get you into a Lancer Evolution III, which can eat an Eg8 for breakfast...... Hope this helped Cheers
  16. Dayum, that's more rice there than in a paddy field!!
  17. Many happy returns of the day Max!
  18. Well put peri... The key point here is, by sinking down to that level, we aren't doing ourselves any favours in the eyes of the world. It isnt just a matter of symbolism. Incidentally, it was this very same "Tit for Tat" mentality that lead to the atrocities of 1983.... and in that instance we sinhalese didnt really have any moral high ground to stand on.
  19. I generally try and avoid this kinda thread like the plague nowadays! but still I feel I should point something out.... Mini, It appears to me that XXX is trying to say that we SHOULD rehabilitate these people whenever possible and make them turn from their ways, Just like we did with karuna and pillayan... I dont think he's trying to defend them here, because it should be pretty obvious there is no defense..... I think you guys MIGHt have misunderstood each other there... or its possible that I've gone and misunderstood the whole thing Damn I hate these theads! Just my 2c...
  20. That's a shame because cars like that really should be driven and enjoyed! even your old car is now more of a showpiece, isnt it?

    About Pitstop

funny, i've got several interior jobs done there and they've always been quite good. You should make a complaint if they havent done it properly.... considering the amount they charge for things, the customer has every right to expect a very high standard.
