As usual, nobody factors in the the proven fact that service intervals are considerably longer and that the parts are very durable. Essentially, as long as routine issues are taken care of properly, euro cars can definitely be more durable (in an overall sense) than japs. As to the "not as quick" argument (and the comparison used to illustrate the point) I'm not even going to bother responding, other than to point out that "driving pleasure" is something that is based on a lot more than merely acceleration. The BMW IS worth it, but only people who can appreciate fine machinery will see it. To the average sri lankan car buyer, its a european car with an "old number".... so the idea is totally dismissed before it even starts! Thats the question the article is asking dude... the CIF valuation given by the agents (which is what they use to calculate the tax) for a used petrol model (being imported by the other party) is considerably higher than the valuation given by them for the brand new diesel car (co-incidentally, imported by themselves).... So there definitely is some form of shenanigans going on here. And speaking from experience, D*MO dont really care much about giving people a good deal, they are bottom line chasers through and through. (Before someone says "that's business", i'm not disagreeing with that fact)

Have you managed to find one? the preludes have always been ultra rare in SL, Have never actually seen an example of this generation here myself and only a handful of cars from the other generations (3 from the final generation, 2 of the 1st gen are what i've seen)... Too bad really cos the 93' to 99 generation was my favourite of them all... Hope you have managed to track one down man. As for concerns, Im guessing parts availability is going to be a bit of a worry because AFAIK that engine was not seen on any honda that was popular in SL so parts may not be plentiful. Body parts also will take some finding.
