  1. This is normal running here and there, I don't use it outstation that much.. As for the costs I have no comments as I did it in 2010, Well its unfair to call the 3c-T as a "risk" , It'll be the best thing you ever did to your van.. As for the fuel figures i'm not concerned as you are on an extra KM PER LITRE or what the AC compressor is and I AM NOT running on Nitrogen.. Maybe the your underpowered 2c is running on higher revs, thus needs more fuel.. Whatever.. Yes Harshan, that feature was there in my auto box, it used to kick in on slippery roads and the steering becomes stiffer and you can feel it, as theres no damper in these models, but as for my manual box its proper AWD, I checked it on a ramp, no electronics nothing Yes this is the variant that came for the Noah models, RWD I think the car model is cheaper.. Not sure though..
  2. This may seem obvious but, the exhaust note is just superb, is that sports tuned as well?
  3. Like harshan said, i think the beadings would do the trick, i've seen it work in some classic cars..
  4. It cost 2.5 for the engine and bits, and another 45000 for the gearbox and ancillaries, Its a 3c turbo, not the EFI model, its just a bolt on job..
  5. Yeah, along with the engine I swapped a manual 4wd box as well, got the entire kit, the gauge cluster, gaiter, etc, however its still Awd and can easily follow the defender in quite rutty tracks in the hillside..
  6. 2C was an engine made a decade ago, it was very good in the older variants, still good in the 41, but for the CR41 and 51 it was not that gutsy enough, especially for the 51 all those 4wd components makes it heavier isn't it?,And then why did they chuck in a 3c from 1998-1999 onwards to almost the same vehicle and to BOTH the models?? I'm sure the japs are as concerned as you are on fuel and reliability.. They could have just gone on with the brilliant 2c is it? or put a 2c-T??. you'll see other users who may have experienced this will add in.. I used the 2c for about 8 years did 2 rebuilds, then swapped it for a 3C-T, pulls way better.. as for the fuel consumption its almost the same 13-14km/litre with aircon
  7. As it is a CR51 i reckon it has the 2c engine, that model was particularly underpowered.. First take a look at your engine, high chance that I maybe needing attention also the fuel pump, other than that the 4wd is a very good option, it has a lot of traction quite useful in the hilly areas, No issues at all with the 4wd system also, but I have done an engine upgrade. I don't see a difference in the fuel economy, I've been having one since 2002, still going strong, If you really wanna see the difference take the front prop shaft off, and take it for a spin.. It doesn't do much, btw make sure you put it back on afterwards People here think that AWD is like running a 4wd select vehicle in the 4wd High range all the time, so they've made it up as if the parts wear off too fast, and the fuel consumption is high and all that, But manufacturers consider all these before making an AWD.. I'm sure you are on this impression too..

  11. +1
  12. The Skyline to the Infiniti isn't exactly rebadging, Its more loaded with options; more or less like a 'lexus' and a toyota, they do that with several other models

  14. I'm sure this'll work as long as you keep the vehicle, but this modification will surely scare off potential buyers, and this will also certainly affect the integrity of the vehicle as the bodywork has been fiddled with.. as Cyrax said, i'd be a better option, safe and worthwhile investment to replace the entire body, but that too must be properly done..

    Quick Trivia 3

    How abt this..
  19. Not exactly, the concept is to alter the power distribution, not to spin all four wheels read this, you'll get my point http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Locking_differential
  20. Locks the rear diffs, so that power is equally distributed to them, so that incase one wheel is stuck, the other wheel doesn't lie spinning, used quite sparingly only incase you are stuck. Quite helpful.. but if misused can harm can damage your gearbox..
  21. Thanks mate, Didnt know it came as standard,
  22. Hi everyone, Just saw this in an AL, ad.. I have seen this in this variant of vehicles What is this button? Actually when I tried it in a vehicle, didn't do anything or feel any different either, except it indicates a blinker in red on the dash.. Is it the traction control or something? Btw these are seen in the YOM 2007 onwards HILUX (UK spec)
