  1. I am not very sure of the technical bits... I am planning to keep things as original as possible, when it comes to other stuff than the pumps. Thank you for your advice
  2. thanks for the replies.. yes there was a small line of oil gushing out when the pump was removed.. It was stopped from an O ring.. its an Isuzu pump with 3/4 on it.. Any idea how much a land rover pump would cost? is the rod like thing from the booster replaceable without replacing the entire booster? What other pumps would match the land rover spec.. i'm considering this option as the brakes have been fiddled with and it is not of the factory setup anymore If it was in factory setup I would no doubt swap it to the genuine part, as I am too a bit of a Landy enthusiast.. As for mechanics well they really make matters worse... most of them atleast.. somethings about land rover ownership
  3. the thing is its an "ISUZU" pump... yes the pump has been fitted with a new kit..
  4. Well I managed to get my hands on another fairly good 90 about 4 months ago... as soon I got it i noticed there were issues with the brakes.. the pedal was like very 'low' i guess you know what i mean.. So i had the entire system primed with new washers... Anyway there was an improvement but again it is of the same state...well i didnt use it for a while as i am away from the island. the car stops but the brakes are quite weak after it goes down.. There are no leaks from the brake lines.. Recently i noticed that the brake booster is mated to a Isuzu pump.. could this be the issue? the rest are all original.. and the copper rod inside the booster has also been fiddled with.. its a 2.5 N/A with discs at the front and drums at the back.. ex-police or STF i guess.. over to the land rover gurus in the forum.. Thank you
  5. Hi, How much would it cost to get down a diesel range rover sport to sri lanka? Are there any available in brand new or unregistered state for sale in the country? other than at frontier?
  6. Thanks for details machan. Impressive bungalow u got there..
  7. Thanks a lot guys.. nice to see the land rover community here.. well the ones from a 200tdi would do.. must check with indika... so i guess i should be looking at abt 100,000 for the pair is it? or is it just for one?
  8. How much would a pair of Land Rover Defender front doors cost? used but in fair state Including all upholstery.. Thank you..
  9. Quite right, turbocharged with separate 4WD transfer box
  10. Yes you are right. The earlier vehicles CR51/41 series with the 2C engines had the compression issue.
  11. Go for the Townace / Liteace, try the 4WD versions CR51/52 , they can cope up with reasonable amounts of rough terrain and are quite reliable with loads of space.
  12. Land Rover Defender 90 Piet Boon Edition Land Rover Netherlands has teamed up with designer Piet Boon to produce a limited edition Defender. The Dutch designer has added some minimalist details to the truck, equipped with LR's 2.4-liter turbodiesel, in return for €56,900, a portion of which goes towards the Drive Against Malaria foundation. Like the previous Piet Boon Edition of the Range Rover Sport, only 15 will be made available, so if malaria is your cause, you live in Holland, and you're in the market for a new truck,
  13. There was one in the motor show sometime back. its from OM http://autolanka.fotopic.net/p43616333.html http://autolanka.fotopic.net/p43616334.html
  14. a real beauty mate.. i guess the only 300tdi 101 on the road here
  15. no idea for an on the road price mate. conversion from euros to rs proves it exceeds 10mil just outta the factory.. I doubt if 1 of them'll ever make it... but there'll be plenty of clones...
  16. Seems that Landy brakes dont wearoff as easily as jap stuff,
  17. Thanks a lot friends, I know Indika is guite good on rovers. Well i've been told my has one been filled with Mobil MX and the gearbox and diffs with normal Gear oil, which i'm gonna swap GB oil for ATF soon. Same here GMI, maybe thats the reason for the clutch. I hate it when it goes leaving you stranded especially where you cant find a replacement. Had quite an experience recently. I use a 2.5 N/A 12J (later type) with LT77 but does the job, whats your engine Velocity?
  18. Land Rover has created a new Limited Edition series for its Defender model. The two off-road special versions will be called “Fire” and “Ice”. Both are distinguished by a twin colour design and are available in the 90 and 110 wheel base measures. The Defender Fire will have a ‘Vesuvius Orange’ and ‘Santorini Black’ livery. The black also appears on the Defender Ice, but is combined with ‘Alaska White’. The interiors of the two versions pick up the orange and white in panelled featuring around the central dash commands. LED lights are included, as is Alcantara upholstery. The Land Rovers Defender Fire and Defender Ice will be made in just 850 units at a cost of 68,400 euros.
  19. and can anyone tell me the engine oil you use on defenders out of the local brands
  20. thankx guys. replaced the entire system and shes running now, no idea if i'll have the same prob again, burnt quite a hole in my wallet
  21. no one?
  22. Hi, after going through the forum i've noticed we've got quite a land rover community here. well in my defender i'm repeatedly having problems with my clutch, as it seems to fail (first spongy, then unable to change gear) I replaced the washers, first and the same issue came up. So i replaced both the master and slave pumps brand new.. Before even a year passed the same issue is back.. Well how often do you have to replace these washers in defenders? is this a normal thing?
  23. Thanks a lot!
  24. thanks a lot mini. Any idea how much they'd cost? can i have their contact no. pls?
