  1. Thank you very much for the quick reply. I think i understand it correctly now.
  2. I'm so confused about the depreciation value, where does it come in? Please can someone explain this using the following example. Say an agent is going to import an used car from Japan which is 3 years old (YOM 2007) - FOB price - USD 8,500 Insurance and Freight charges - USD 1,500 CIF value is (FOB + Insurance and Freight charges) right? If that is correct then CIF value - USD 10,000 Now do we calculate tax for the CIF value? OR for the local value of a brand new car of the same model * depreciation%? Total price will be CIF + Tariff + any additional charges like agent handling fee? Sorry if it has been explained before, i did a forum search but couldn't find a clear explanation.
  3. Here is a calculator, not sure if its correct though.
  4. Hmm looks like the car market is same as it was before the tax change. I have been saving money for the last two years because i didn't want to take a lease or a loan. Guess i have to wait at least 3 more months to get a Axela.
  5. Hi...i'm just curious how you were able to import a 2006 vehicle. Can anyone import a vehicle with YOM 2006 or do you have a blue permit or something?
  6. Hmm yeah i guess its a 260Z, i wonder how much it will cost.
  7. This looks awesome. What is this?
  8. Ah that's what i was thinking. Is it a 4 seater one?
  9. What is that white one?
  10. I don't see much issues with the current site as well. I know that its not using any standards (W3C and SEO etc.) but its simple and fast which is important. I do like to see some additional filters in the buy page though (price, vehicle type, model etc.)
  11. Since its a 2 door + 2 seater price has to be 1/3 of a 4 door I'm so in love with the RX-8, i swear i'm gonna get one before the end of 2012. I'll rob a bank if i have to
  12. Wow really? That's great. Unfortunately for me, i have just over 2mil. I can't take a lease because i will be paying for a loan Damn RX8 is my dream car now. I will look out for a RX7 then, will see. No problem at all, i like to know about it as well
  13. Thanks for the quick reply. I think there is no point of checking the RX8 because it will be too expensive for me anyway. Any idea about the RX7, is it over 3mil or something?
  14. Hey guyz, Can someone please tell me what's the current market price range of a used RX7 (2002 model) and a RX8 (2000-2003) model, there is one adv in autolanka as well but the price hasn't mentioned. Thanks
  15. Haha yeah, tech/phone sites were talking about this for months and that's why i've even mentioned this in the first page. Anyway here is a nice comparison between some of the latest phones including iPhone 4, N8 and HTC Evo 4G http://www.engadget.com/2010/06/07/iphone-...e-plus-and-hd2/ Personally i'm waiting for N8.
  16. True, I don't like Chinese stuff as well. I think they should have release the Xperia X10 on 2009 because when it was released around 2010 March if i'm not mistaken, there were lot of better phones available in the market. But the design wise its still a really nice and up to date phone. The problem about iPhone is most people have it (little less here in SL) so its not that un-common. IMO when a phone is not common they lose the main cool factor like cars.
  17. Evo 4G is a no go for me because it wont fit in my pocket and it has only 65K colours with a TFT screen?. I'm looking for a phone with at least an Amoled screen if not Super Amoled. As for the battery life 3 days is totally fine with me.
  18. I was looking at the Xperia X10 too, i really liked the design but now it's features are a bit outdated. No multi-touch, no Amoled screen and 16M colours, even though it has a good processor the OS is bit slow.
  19. Totally agree about Nokia phones durability. I’ve been using my N80 over 3 years (which had the latest features at the time when I brought it around 2007 Jan) and I only had to replaced the housing once Back to the main post: Since coolest will be defined by our own point of view it’s hard to tell which phone is the coolest. But I think following are the features what we normally look in a phone right? It has to be un-common, good battery life (talk time/sand by time) having latest features with lots of application and a nice design. Since I’m also looking for a new phone I did some research on the net and following are the phones that caught my eyes. They all have multi-touch, so having capacitive touch screen. Samsung I9000 Galaxy S (Available after Aug 2010) Key features: 4” Super Amoled Display (best screen available at the moment) Android 2.1 OS (which is very popular because its open source and has lots of free apps) Swype input 5 MP cam with 720p HD video (but no flash) Nokia N8 (Available after Aug 2010) Key features: 3.5” Amoled Display Symbian 3^ OS (latest symbian OS and its open source so will have lots of applications) 12 MP cam with Xenon flash and 720p HD video (ignore MP it’s just make the pic bigger not quality, but this is really good camera because Carl Zeiss optics are the best) HTC Desire (available now) Key features: 3.7” Amoled Display Android 2.1 OS 5 MP cam with LED flash If you’re an apple fan maybe wait till they release their 4G phone. As for me, I can’t decide between Samsung Galaxy S and Nokia N8 at the moment. I think I will probably go for the Nokia N8 because they have better support, durability and the design is very un-common. So in my opinion Nokia N8 is a cool phone. Sorry about the long post, had to explain why it’s cool
  20. IMO the reason is, the government made it so that we can’t import anything older than 5 years. So importers had to bring new cars which are expensive because of the tax system. So people can’t afford the new cars going for the second-hand cars, hence there is a high demand. So when there is a high demand everyone and their mother want to sell them for absurd prices. Not only that, I can’t get my Celica because they don’t even sell that girl. Damn them all.
  21. Basically coupe means a closed car body style (compact), so most two or 2+2 seater sporty variants are called coupes right. And as you said in US its called Hyundai Tiburon but in South Korea this RD2 (1999–2001) was marketed as Tiburon Turbulence. Since there are several coupe versions available i prefer to call it Turbulence Coupe to avoid confusion with the other coupe versions such as this. Tiburon v6 coupe (2005-2007)
  22. Yeah, turbulence coupe looks great and looks exactly like the celica 6th gen but overall i think celica is a much better car than the turbulence coupe. Marino is a good car too, but as you said i can go for a better car like civic ek3 right? The only problem i have about the civic is, its doesn't have the looks i need. Guess i can't have everything for my budget huh Maybe i can modify the civic later and make it something like this
  23. Thanks for all your comments guyz, looks like i will have to go for a Civic. Just wondering if anyone has the hyundai turbulence coupe. I have searched the forum but couldn't find much information about it. As far as i know it doesn't have a good resale value like most of the hyundai cars and have some electrical problems. Do you guyz know more about this?
  24. Are you taking about the Celica GT-4?
  25. Hey guyz! I wanted to buy a Toyota Celica (6th generation) ST203 (SS-I 4WS). But since its very rare here i'm thinking about buying one of the following: Hyundai Tiburon Turbulence Coupe (RD2 1999–2001) - Manual transmission Honda Civic EK3 - Manual transmission Considering the following please let me know what you guyz think. Thanks. Something around 1.9M Sporty look - prefer coupe models (2 door is fine but 4 seater) Manual transmission Good fuel economy (around 11)
