Ya, wrinkles need a compound to be applied prior to applying the dye. I found this "http://www.leathermagic.com/Pages/Dlx_Lthr_Kit_Instructions.pdf" Those people provides the complete set including tools for the operation.

The site seems really interesting and thanx for the info. BTW, in the gallery they show pics of restorations. How come this thing just vanishes all the cracks like this "http://www.dynamixdyes.com/gallery-popup.php?imagename=galleryimage22". I have the same issue with my seats but doesn't it happens when the top layer of leather been peeled off?

Thanx for advices guys. I'll monitor the oil level now continuesly and if it drops again, i'll immediately look in to the matter. BTW, i'm using 15W-40 for my N16. Is it the best for a car engine or should i go for a thicker or thinner oil than this? What is the effect of oil viscosity on an engine's performance?
-
Hey, how do you know exactly the vibration is coming out of engine? Is it coming only on 3rd gear? or whenever you r around 40?
-
It's N16. Ya, my oil light works fine. I just had a short run to see what's going on after adding oil to normal level on dipstick. It's normal. Everything seems fine. however i have added 2 liters of oil to come to normal. Now even the oil seems to be ok with colour and thickness. I'll try the smoke thing and let you know. However i didnt notice any visible smoke out of my exhaust which is an indication of no oil leak to combustion i believe. I suspect some oil has lost during the cleanup process of tune-up i've done. Is it possible? BTW, i thought i should try a dipstick from another N16. Who knows, this might not the correct stick at all.
-
Ya, now dont jump to say im an idiot, coz i've realized it already,,,:-) BTW, its not literally WITHOUT engine oil, but there was a bit... What happened was, i did not check the oil level for around two three months time coz i had the idea that oil pressure bulb should lit and let me know when i should add oil. But however i just accidentally checked it. I was shocked to see no oil at all on the dipstick after an overnight parking. Added 1 liter to come to the Low level of (still little below actually) dipstick. Now I need help on following questions raised with this incident.. 1. Isn't the oil indicator supposed to show low oil levels (which causes oil pressure drops)or does this means still the engine had enough oil to build up the required oil pressure? 2. I dont see any oil leakage marks at my parking grounds. What is the possible cause for this oil loss? (I had a tune up after the oil change, is it the reason?) 3. Most importantly, what are the checks I should do now to verify what's gone wrong and what are the remedial measures should I do (flush?) ? thanx in advance.

Searched a bit abt Rainx on net. Seems the perfect solution for me. Thanx a lot. One more thing, where should i look for to buy Rainx?

I'm also having a problem like this. But not the same though. When it is raining heavily, although i use wipers in full speed the windscreen completely goes blurred. Although wipers work well, for the moment they wipe off, next water drops form a thin layer just following the wiper. When I observed windscreen from side with some water on, I see oily reflections all over it. So I used some glass cleaner, but it is still the same... Any help?

Who Are The Worst Drivers In Sl Or Wherever You Are?
Wheel replied to Dominic's topic in General Automotive
Another category to be included is drivers with new cars.. (KH, KI numbers) (Only some of them) They drive behind lorries, buses and other long vehicles just TRYING to overtake (meaning in the middle of the road)... Unfortunately they never overtake, just waiting waiting and waiting. As these fellows r in the middle of the road, if you caught behind you also hv to wait n wait. But when you flash n sound a bit n try to overtake him, there he flies. These guys neither like to be passed by (coz its their new treasure) and to follow a vehicle. So, although they havnt the decision making and driving skills matching to the new bird to pass a long vehicle, just keeping trying which means blocking his followers... -
Yep, the link is useful. But i wish it was not an image file when saved, but was a G*RM*N compatible format...

Yes, this is the exact way im working and that's y i think im getting figures like 13kmpl on N16 while most of the people r not believing me. I dont let the acc pedal to feel my push when im around 50-60kmph, just several millimeters push will rise you up to 80-85kmph within say, 15-20 seconds(not sure abt this figure, but it takes some time). I think it gives some rest to breaks too other than rushing to 80's and getting on break pedal in traffic, coz in this method it'll take 15-20 seconds to speed up so generally it should be a less traffic road to achieve this speed.

Ooops, im a newbie and didnt pay attention on where im posting
-
Yes, Jehan you r correct. Like Big_D pointed out my intention is to show how crazy the people who r running behind cars with 2-3kmpl better fuel eff, and the same criticizing bit lower mileage ones. As I have heard, FB15 got the major attention of the market due to 1-3kmpl efficiency than N16 which is the younger product continued production even when FB series discontinued. Like Harshana and Sifaan said, other factors should also taken into account. But what i needed to see is the actual importance of these kmpl figures people r chasing behind like it'll save the whole living... Finally what i got out from these figures is that if one should buy a car, fuel economy may be somewhere lowest in his checklist compared to the price tag (ofcrz it shouldn't be worse, something average will do it). Other factors you all have pointed out should come first in the list. But I've heard that Vios is one of the worst suspensions in Toyota. (Is it still better than N16?, if it is so, no wonder, that's Toyota) BTW, like Yala mentioned, it is my average running (1000km per month) and the 13kmpl is what my N16 gives me out when im on bit long-less traffic drives. (of crz that's wt i use my car for) Vios thing is extracted from AL classifieds.

As I was thinking buying a Vios would give me a whopping 18kmpl fuel efficiency, and will make me more savings over my N16, just worked out the numbers as follows. Pls consider following robust numbers take ONLY fuel consumption into account. No depreciation or inflation is considered. How mileage affects… Vios Price = 2400000 N16 Price = 1800000 (a) If I buy Vios over N16, the extra expenditure = 600000 Vios fuel efficiency (at it’s best) = 18kmpl N16 Fuel efficiency (at it’s best) = 13kmpl I assume I run 1000km per month. Then monthly fuel consumption for, Vios = 1000/18 = 55.6 ltrs N16 = 1000/13 = 76.9 ltrs Saving I have if I buy Vios = 76.9 – 55.6 = 21.3 ltrs * 115 = Rs. 2449.50 Per month If I am to recover my extra expenditure at (a) by this monthly saving, number of months I have to run my Vios = 600000/2449.5 = 244.9 months = 20.4 years. So, spending more 6lkhs for a Vios over N16 is profitable for me after 20 years! I cant believe this is correct. Pls correct me if i've mistaken somewhere... Your comments are welcome!!

No turboholic you cant get street names out of this as the map you and me using does not contain any street names. What you can see is what the map has. Either we can start a project to develop this map, or someone already have done it for you. If you r that concerned of details then go to S*L* Pro Sat in No. 445, Haveloc Road, Col 6. They have a nice set of developed and detailed maps with 3.5"-4.5" digital displays where you might even use it to find a wash room in an emergency . But of crs you hv to pay for what you r getting. Ranging from 35k to 50k. Well, if you need those details that much, those cost figures seems reasonable.
-
Yep, Niltro is correct. Had to replace front shocks and right rack end just after purchase. Overall cost around 40k including a tuneup.

Guys, Here is the map. Gmapprom1.Img.Zip by Bigupload.Com Dwnld it and save it in GA*M*N folder. Rename your SL map file to GMAPSUPP.img (if it is not) and make this overly map renamed as gmapprom.img. Thats it! Enjoy! I found some bug here (dont know you'll face it or not), when you do it, still the labels are not visible . If so, rename the SL map file as your name (hi hi, just anything man.. .) while keeping the overly map as gmapprom.img. Run GA*M*N once. Ofcrs it'll not show any roads coz it'l not read the SL map. But zoom the map out and play with it for a while. Then close it down. Now rename the SL map file again back to GMAPSUPP.img and run it. (I think we should teach stupid GA*M*N to use our overly map this way... ) I donnow, sometimes there might be a big technical background for this to happen. But why bother, when we have an easy way. And one foot note here, Dont blame me when labels are not visible while the map is zoomed out a lot if you r using auto zoom feature on (of crz im using it too). Coz when extensively zoomed out, it will show only the major cities. I can correct this too.. but it'll make the map invisible as it'll be covered with all the small village names when zoomed out. And the limitation i was talking to ELNINO is that im having a memory dump when i try to export the map with roads in to GA*M*N format. (but my RAM is 4GB!) Actually thats y ive gone for an overlay map without roads instead of correcting the original map. So i need to split the thing to small parts which this unregistered software im using not letting me to do... <_< Hi hi, it is not the only gps software available.. i'll find a way... BTW, where i can get those one way info from google maps?
-
Dear ELNINO, As you hv pointed out for me in another topic raised by me for this issue, latter version (.....40) does not hv that option. But the new version is said to be unstable as you mentioned. This is an encoding error as you've said. So i'v corrected it with some GPS software and did an overly map. Now i have all the labels nicely visible on map on older version. Anyone need me to share it with? BTW, that ONE WAY issue, im wrking on. Hope i can do something. (Actualy i'v already found a way, but experiencing two problems, 1. obtaining actual information on one way roads of Colombo and suburbs. If you can help me out with this info, i'll fix it. 2. Limitations of my cmptr and sofware im using. Ill try and find a way to overcome this soon) Cheers!
-
ELNINO, what is your G****N version? Coz, i dont find such a thing as "Convert ...." in my system menu. Rgds.

Guys, Are there people using GARM*N navigation on phones? Facing problems with display of city/town names?
-
WRONG! I heard on Radio the police spokesmen saying up to 30% allowed in front and thats all, others may go even up to 100%. This was from NethFM Balumgala program (cant remember the exact date) where they had done a special research on this. According to them, most of the cops were not aware of the correct rule and were just chasing behind each n every tinted glass. The Police Spokesmen accepted the fact that the cops were not aware of the correct law by that time (This was around 1 to 2 months back).
-
Yep, it is the ON position as you said. And that timer thing.... Never thought of that.... Should check mine..

Some classified information is here... Beware of a trick done by repair guys specially if you are with a second hand car. If the car had been in an accident, and repaired, most probably the airbags should have to be activated and gone out. Have heard some repair people r just connecting your airbag warning light with your oil light in dash(without actually replacing a new airbag). Then you turn the key on, see air bags light on and a little while after ignition it goes off, making you happy about your air bag system. But actually what goes off is your oil pressure bulb. If you keep the key in ACC position for a while (which you'll not do much often), and if you notice your air bag indicator is continuing to be turned on instead of going off after a while (which is the normal way as far as i know), you should think twice.

Hope the Maruti which the customers were gone crazy about will worth for it's steel weight than Rs. 129000.00 in Sri Lanka. People should've thought a bit.....

Model : Nissan N16 ExSaloon YOM : 2002 Engine : 1500cc Transmission : Auto Fuel Economy : Before tunning; City 8-9 km/l, Urban 9-10 km/l After Tunning(Recently Tuned); City 9.5-10.5km/l(Estimated), Urban 12.5-13.5km/l(Estimated), Average Conditions 12km/l (Actually Measured) All the above figures with AC (with Climate Control), Partial night drivings (with head lamps on halfway through), Single person on board. Im afraid how long this economy will be there after seeing one post saying he lost the figures after 2-3 months from tunning.
