  1. yes those vehicles has to registered to a government council and they are insured to the chassis number but there are lots of vehicles running under those by people who are related or friends of politicos. but the problem is anyone can do it and police wont stop these rides.
  2. I have a D21 4WD, and recently i noticed that my front wheels are not straight. they are a bit angled inward of the Veh. when i wnet to check my alignment i was told that certain parts are to be replaced. 1.CV bushings. 2.Idler arm bushings. I also fell that my bearings have gone bad.if i replace all these. how much will it cost me and is there a good place anyone can recommend arnd maharagama or pannipitiya. plese help mates im a bit worried at my ride now.
  3. well guys... IT IS illegal.... :jumping-smiley-013: true..what i said was its not necessary..... according to rulz fitting a different wheel to a vehicle is illegal :D what im trying to say is that no one ever is going to screw you for fitting a cabin or a bed to a double cab... the guy i spoke with is doing defenders, land cruisers which were bought from army. for those not having a body permit is risky..... but cabs doesn't have this problem.... once the body is fitted and the aluminum tag has been replaced with the old one. there is nothing anyone can do.. its not what you know its what you can prove :ninja: . i have been using a 40-xxxx D21 for years now,my friend uses a 52-xxxx d22, we also have another 27-xxxx Isuzu 2001 cab... since i went through this procedure i know the situation...
  4. i asked a person who does this..and he said body permits are not required for double cabs and crew cabs... its perfectly Ok to fit a body to any chassis. but their was a dramatic increase in bodies or "gedi". check kuruneagala and vijerama side...
  5. the 720D,520D, and also the 620D chassis can be fitted with a D21 and D22.. :jumping-smiley-013: i have a 40-xxxx 1980 720D fitted with a 1994 D21.. and the vehicle is solid and running excellent..there are also 28 sri vehicles fitted with the same body.. i dont know wthr these chassis can be fitted with the new Navara but i have seen D22 bodies fixed to 28sri cabs one was for sale recently and there is one running in colombo... BUT the chassis of these vehicle are found in two types one is the thick chassis and the other is the thn one... but this makes no difference the cab and he bed fit perfectly... for all double cabs from all brands this is the same..any new body fits...
  6. Hi! daytona .. just adding my opinion.... personally i prefer European and American vehicles than Asian stuff.... most of the new jap and othr asian cars suck whn it comes to safety and durability...(Body strength).. so if ur willing to spend 4Mn.. and if you dont mind buyin recon and used vehicles... or if you REALLY MEAN S.U.V(Sport Utility Vehicle) and appreciate grade 1 machinery y not LR Defender.. but considering your fathers need(as he only needs smthing just "taller") i might suggest... LR Free lander 3-4 mn if u like Jap cars...thrz X-Trail,Rush,daihatzu Terrios, and dont 4get the toyota harrier.. i thnk you should consider land-rover Free Lander.. one of ma frndz has a diesel LR Free-lander(BMW engine) it does 15 Km/l.
  7. ..Nissan Petrol or a 32---(land rover) or a Hilux cab or a trooper or a bighorn.. well its a good taste u hv on vehicles i gt 2 say... but if u can go for a LR or an Isuzu its better.. but i thnk u need 2 put in sm extra bucks... ny wy i prefer to buy chassis and assemble vehicles rather than running second hand veh...
  8. well i thnk its just that most fall 4 these in SL. but the truth z that professionals are the ppl wth least knowledge abt vehicles.. they cnt even take a bent right... as far as im cocerned our ppl lack judgement whn it comes to buying vehicles and goes according to general automobile market. as a result certain good vehicles have gone down in price and certain not so good ones have become expensive..(take new Toyota cars for a n instant).
  9. i hv to disagree to that... if the person is not the 1st owner...or the veh is recon. it can be anything.....
  10. JC.. no offence but i gt 2 say that if i wr u i would never sell a beast lk dat..... dats wt i call a ride...!!
  11. i thnk its better to sell ur veh. n buy an auto trans. veh.. bcz a transmission conversion z gnna cost a pretty lot bt it wnt increase the value of the car.
