My car's fuel efficiency has been reduced 20% during last 2,3 months. Previously it ran 12 Km per liter but not it is difficult to run 10 kms per litter. I talk to my friends and they also observe this behavior
don't do this unless you drive the car. Else driver will hand over your vehicle to a person who is selling parts and says you that some gang has threaten and got the vehicle from him
Yesterday one of my fried told me that government going to extend the used period again to 3 and half years. He also got this rumor from one of reliable and largest car sale dealer in SL. As we know they deal with policy makers to make what they want. He has told that the current 2 years rule will be changed after the local car sale owners cleared vehicles from their car sales. Is this true ?
ps
This is only a rumor. Not a confirmed news.
Largest car sale owners may know it exactly.
I don't see it as an option to him. It is almost impossible to contact auction holders. Even auction holder can't do anything. Seller has to agree to buy or cancel the deal. Japanese agent has bought it from the car owner through the auction. Sometime his Japanese Agent may not know anything about the seller ? It is like how shares trading in the share marker. Buyer don't know about seller or seller don't know about buyer
I can't understand. Why there is a prerequisite of a opened LC ?
No bank in Sri Lanka can open LC on or after 25th April for the vehicles older than 2 years. Dr. Newil must know this because he is also belongs to the Ministry of Finance.
Not only you. Lot of private importers suffering from this decision. I am wondering why politicians not helping the private importers who suffering from the quick implementation of the vehicle age regulation.
This is not a problem to car sale owners. They will be happy with this decision and the sudden implementation
Dr. Newil Goonawardena has given permissions to issue license to those who suffering from this quick decision. Go and talk to him. Good Luck Buddy
Dr. Newil Goonawardena, Director General ( Trade, Tariff & Investment Policy)
you can find most of the people from all over the world raising radioactive concerns over auto imports. Normally metals don't absorb radiation. But buyer are being panic and Japanese putting a big effort (including giants Toyota,Nissan, Honda) to retain the market. Probably you will be able to buy a used car for a much cheaper price from Japan in short term.
