hi.
i have a toyota prius third generation AT package.. and i can tell you that this is a car that I would recommend anyone to buy. Before buying this i used to think hybrids were slow and sluggish and boring to drive. but after driving it for one year I found it to be much sportier than my previous modified corolla 121. The technology in the prius is simply amazing like the adaptive radar cruise control, the pre collision system, lane keep assist, and the suspension is really comfortable eventhough my Prius has 17" rims and stiffened coilover suspension therefore can take sharp bends at max speeds and the electronic power steering is very responsive and powerful. The performance is also not bad especially when the PWR mode is active and the acceleration is really good because of the motors ability to give max efficiency at all RPMs. even while going above 160kmph on the expressway its perfectly stable and fuel economy is at 20kmpl. in normal urban driving goes 20-25kmpl in agressive driving and 17-20kmpl in very heavy rush hour traffic. outstation works around 30kmpl with not too much agression but at moderate high speeds like 80s and 90s. the only problem is the ground clearance and other than that no problems.. even the services are cheaper than the 121. oil change every 10000km, no steering fluid, transmission oil every 80000 and coolant at 150000 and brake pads havent worn down even a bit after over 20000km (supposed to last for over 300000km) in the 121 had to change every 30000 or so. Insight is not a bad car. but i found it a bit uncomfortable and it doesnt have the build quality of toyota (gen 2 prius was not best toyota quality also). hope this helps anyone who wants to buy a hybrid. research before buying (I researched about hybrids for over 1 year before buying)... its a different kind of vehicle like switching from a manual to an automatic.. and dont believe rumors that it is dangerous and stuff. it wouldnt be a number one selling vehicle in the world if it was dangerous.
