Hi everyone, I am considering a Civic 2018 for our next upgrade. However, my regular mechanic has advised me about a "timing belt" issue present in this car? He was a bit iffy on the details, would love to hear from everyone here... What are the other common problems with this car? Thanks and Regards

Hi everyone, I was looking for a weekend car for a while and was recently offered a J24 4DR5 Turbo. I have read through the threads on AL but would appreciate a response on the following: 1. Is this a generally reliable engine and gearbox? The book says original diesel, 4DR5. It wont be a daily runner but I'm not keen on spending days on days in the garage either. 2. This jeep has no doors, just the canopy fabric covering. Will doors be difficult to find? 3. This particular jeep has power steering. Any other upgrades that can be made to make the car safer/modern? Have a read a bit about a brake upgrade but would like more info. 4. How is the spare parts availability? What parts are known to fail? Can cosmetic items like meters etc be found? Aftermarket options are fine. 5. Any rust hot spots I should be on the lookout for? The jeep was made in 1977. Should I be aware of anything else before going for this? Would love some info on what its like owning one of these, an all round view on life with a J24. TIA

KMPL is not much of an issue with him.. The initial cost matters much more in this case... Anyway how bad is the power valve issue? So if theres no way to get it repaired what did you do? Thanks for replying man. Yeah we went and looked at a few bikes yesterday, but hes not made up his mind yet, we saw one with a pretty bad body but the mechanic we had with us said the engine was pretty good..Also if you have any other suggestions for the 50k range id appreciate it..

Hey guys, a friend of mine has been shopping around for a TZR125 for some time and through google and whatnot we found that most of the bikes in SL are from the 90's. Has anyone owned this particular bike and knows the problems etc that he should expect? He is a bit apprehensive because it is an old bike but its the only one he can afford, so any suggestions will be welcome. Thanks

Dude you really shouldnt be taking medical advice off a automotive forum, or any place on the internet for that matter. Go a good hospital like apollo or arsiri they have plenty of good GP's they should be able to sort her out. Best of luck bro.

Hey guys ive thought about buying a mini for a while and now i finally have enough cash for one. The problem i have is i have seen many BMW's for around the same price and im not sure which one to go for. So basically i have a budget of 1 million and since i dont know much about cars i have no idea what to buy. The car is going to be a daily runner so it needs to be reliable and reasonably economical. Also im not interested in the japanese cars i need a European car Any suggestions guys?

Try gamer.lk,the guys there will definitely help you get this sorted. As for downloading games its a waste of time really. I buy my games from a place called "A tech" in MC. Games always work and the price is reasonable as well

I drove a Swift Sports a while back. Personally i wouldn't buy one for everyday use. The suspension is pretty stiff so the ride can be uncomfortable on Srilankan roads. Other than that it was a great car; decent power, great looks, good fuel economy and the leg room wasnt that bad either.

Ah so its basically like getting a license only.I was told you can get the permit when your 17? Anyone know a good learner who can get the job done? I really hated wasting my time when i got my license so would hope to avoid that this time around
