  1. 2.2L with 185bhp doing 7.5kmpl is impressive. I guess you are driving bumper to bumper in the morning as well. Guess the magic is in JTS. My 2.0L TS is still doing only 5.5-6kmpl and no one can find the issue.
  2. I've had the same issue with my 156. RPM varied like crazy during the traffic and it was really annoying. We checked out few issues; - ignition coils - throttle body - MAF However, as non of them were faulty, my mechanic re-tensioned a spring which was inside the throttle body. After that the problem was resolved. However, couple of months later, MAF also gave problems alongside with the lambda sensor again giving slight RPM drops. Detached the lambda and running with another MAF now and the issue is completely gone. So my guess is check the throttle body with regulators. Fuel pump can be an issue considering the quality of fuel we have. Check the MAF and coils/plugs. Good Luck!
  3. Try this link out http://www.carbibles.com/gasmileage.html as per the link, air filter can do a big change to the fuel consumption if not replaced/cleaned properly as for the petrol smell, could be the lambda (O2) sensor. Happened to me once. Hope this will help!
  4. The previous tyres has been used for approximately 50,000km. Wearing was acceptable with the conditions we run. had about 30% tread remaining when I replaced them. You can try the Amila Tyre House in Karagampitiya or Danula Tyres in Battaramulla. Both of them had the size I wanted in kumho and falken. Not sure about any other place closer to Nugegoda than this. There's another tyre called Achilles. With reviews from the friends who use them, the platinum type is fairly good and the cost is also low. Good Luck with the tyre hunt mate!
  5. Have a look at this link http://blog.autoworld.com.my/index.php/2008/05/14/bridgestone-turanza-ar10-test/ I bought 205/60 R15 two tyres couple of days back for 14950 each for my 156. used to have Bridgestone but then I went for 2 michelins last year. Michelins are so expensive now so can't afford (23,000 per each for the Jap). However now I feel the AR 10 is much quieter than the Michelin Energy XM1s. Overall Bridgestone AR10 is a good tyre for the price. As per Falken, 205/60 R15 was Rs.15,800 (Jap). Try Kumho as well. One of my friends who used to have an Alfa 156 swears by them.

  9. Of course it ain't the whole universe buddy but it's the only car I've had but i find it very interesting to see that you have managed to buy shocks for your D8 at a price of 8000 each I believed that suspension related parts in euro vehicles are much expensive did you use brand new shocks? sorry for my ignorance in the field of Peugeots BTW
  10. All four shocks only 32,000??? My 156 did cost me 56,000 for the front 2 shocks. Of course they were Koni adjustable sport shocks but to replace all four with 32k is unbelievable
