  1. I recently heard from my friends that Hyundai(PVT)Ltd is staging protests due to poor wages or some other reason & that they have delayed their customer's orders by 1 freaking year!!!! Some engineers at my father's work place are really angry because the Tucsons they were promised to be delivered by February 2012 have been further delayed to May! have any of you guys heard of this incident or is it just a pointless rumor??? I just really wanna know because a lot of people are inconvenienced. I'm thinking it's true because when I went over there in February they said the vehicle could be delivered within 4 months. But went back late March(I tried calling them but no one answered, but before they would always pick up the phone) & when tried to take an invoice the sales exec said that they are "flooded with orders".Then I retorted that another sales executive (I won't name him lol) promised us in confidence that the vehicle would arrive by 4 months. Then he said that that guy was a good for nothing low life (Literally!!! called him a mongrel) Doesn't that seem unorthodox for a sales executive?? Other thing is Hyundai-kia factory in S.Korea churn out 1000s of Hyundai's every month. With robots on the job24x7 assembling away new vehicles. So how come the same company that makes Kia & Hyundai have shortages.I've heard of no such thing in the news.
  2. What technology could be used in order to maintain full control of a vehicle when it takes a hair-pin corner at more than 200mph? Can the next generation of super-vehicles do this??

  3. That's quite true.Yes they were popular in some countries because they were so economical to own.But Somehow the Brits absolutely loathe Korean cars(Especially Jeremy from TopGear , he slanders Korean cars on international TV).I manged to message a good pro car reviewer (Mat Watson)from AutoExpress.I asked him whether he plans to review the new Sonata. He was like are u ??!!! then after a few days he messaged me that he might do a review in the near future.
  4. Ah you bought the previous 1st Gen Cerato! Yes That particular model wasn't a big hit because back then Kia was building cars that earned them the U.S nickname "Poor Men's Toyota" (No offence Velocity, here even Kia's are high priced)Because they were constructed with cheap materials. But now they are trying to build a good reputation. but still unfortunately the nickname has been changed to "Poor Men's Audi" lol. Even Hyundai has changed the game.Ex:the Sonata is built with high strength aluminium (It's stronger than toyota's high strength aluminium). It gained so much critical acclaim that it recently was awarded "Best mid-size premium Sedan" in the US.the Sonata is currently outselling Camry & Accord.Even saw it on "yahoo-news" recently. I respect your opinion 100%.& yes I too wan't to kick their asses in because they are such lazy aggravating morons.KIA should seriously replace their bum-employees with efficient & friendly people.Their vehicle lineup may have improved but those bum-employees have got to go!!! .Korean automakers are really making a scene at present.
  5. I love the fact that you call the Sorento a "Toy" it's very humorous.
  6. You said the car is solid & well built but the car did come across repairs. Then it's not. Do you think Kia's after sales service sucks?. Dude I seriously doubt sorento would depriciate that quick. My Dad's friend owns a full option one.He got it for 7.5mil when it first came here(however he hasn't encountered any probs so far). Now I see Sorentos that have done +20000Km on HitAd for 8.3mil
  7. 1.Downhill & uphill brake assist just makes automatically controls engine throttle & brakes for the driver so that he doesn't have to put up with stabbing the throttle during steep hill climbs & descends. 2.That's just in the U.S. where Sorento is manufactured.A good friend of mine drives a full option 2010 model.Still no probs. 3.I'm not sure.I'm still waiting for mine. 4.Oh dear.I hope not. This is my first Kia.My friend said that he's quite satisfied with the vehicle & all.I'm sure he also meant about the srvice too. 5.Earliest is 5 months.Latest can be around 6 to 7 months. It's on the invoice. 6.Hope it dosen't exceed budget but.Add LED tail lights. It really makes this SUV look great.I would go for key-less entry too(smartkey & Push button start). If it's not too much go for bluetooth.
  8. Oh thank you for pointing tht out.. It's an inline 6 cylinder engine.(I6)I keep overlooking that.
  9. Wow if this becomz reality I wud regret ordering the sorento.Instead would've gone for the 2012 Grandeur. :/ sigh
  10. No it isn't just made for me .it's sold in the European & US market.(it's an I6 engine which makes just over 300bhp)U find only quite a few in the South Asian region. The M3 has a V8 which produces a bit over 400bhp.
  11. Good Luck then!!
  12. Thanks! Assuming you have an engineer's permit you can get The A4 gasoline version(with good options). But I'd go for the diesel as these are hard times(but I'm not confident of the number of options).I hear VW also offers the Passat,Jetta & Tiguan(If they offer the "Passat CC" for the permit, go for it if you wish cause it's a really good car but sadly hasn't caught on in SL).I dont think you can import 2010 or later mercs for the Engineer's permit through other agents. Assuming you've got a Doc's permit you have a slightly wider selection. You can go for the 2011 Volvo S60.A very top notch car.Still not sure Mercs are offered for this permit though. If you like you may explore what Peugeot has to offer but I'm not sure about that brand yet.I seriously doubt the 2011 Jaguar XF is offered for the permit (3l V8 engine). If all else fails BMW 320D I guess ( I think at 5.8mil it's the cheapest European car offered for permit) Hope this helped.
  13. Ah! a Purist just like my dad hehe.I understand. Some people prefer the real article. My dad also prefers to drive without being "constantly coddled by too much tech"(I guess that's why he drives wayy better than I do).Well I'm very thankful for your input, man!
  14. Even i had look at it. But I too ordered a Full option Sorento. Nope dude they offer the most cheapest engine available @ Prestige. The good one is a 3liter I6 I think with 300+ bhp. Audi offers gasoline A4 with a lot of options except sunroof.for 6mill.Not sure about the Diesel though.(They said they would get back to me but they didn't)
  15. Yay!!! Gonna hav a Spicy red Sorento by Oct :D

      :( make that December
  16. Your cousin has good taste in midsize family sedans. The Sonata is a brilliant & seductive car even ride quality is better than Honda Accord.I assume your aunt also bought a 2011 Sonata.Hope they were one of the early birds, otherwise it's a 10 month wait.Yikes!!! Btw the new generation of Audi & Volvo are exceptional cars these days. They will retain their value well.
  17. You mean like Kyrons & Actyons & Tata Boleros? I suppose.I always like to fantasize that if there was only like 10-20% instead of 200% import taxes in SL we'd have exotics & premium sedans rolling down the street like Dubai
  18. maybe it is lol.thanks! Anyhow I'm gonna ask them about this tomorrow. It would be great if they offered this.Is yours a Full option btw?
  19. Hey does your Sorento have a factory fitted TV DVD system? Does KIA offer it here? This guy has integrated DVD,TV (FRont & rear) & Navigation I didn't see this feature in the options list..? http://www.autolanka.com/ad.asp?ID=48268
  20. True. Most people here are very conventional & fear to take a leap of faith. But I remember passing through KIA every week a few years ago & not even bothering to look inside the showroom because I though they were rubbish, only looked at Nissan with their Cefiros & Muranos & such & coveting them .But now I do look @ KIA when ever I get just to see whether they have a new model (Like the Cadenza which still isn't here). Later I found out that Kia had been putting out good quality cars since 2005.(They beat Honda in quality tests) (BEFORE THAT THEY WERE DEATH TRAPS).I'm sure the public will come to realise this. I recently saw a 2011 Sorento had done 20,000Km & was on sale for 8.6mil in autolanka. My dad's friend had bought a full option one for 7.5mil only(when it first arrived). Now a brand new full option sorento costs nearly 9.2mil.
  21. I'm sure the public's perception of Kia & Hyundai will change. It already has in the US & Australia. The Sonata outsold the Camry & accord . But I still thinks Ssangyong needs a major overhaul on their brand.
  22. Wow you've been in a Cayenne turbo! I envy you so much.My friends great uncle owns many exotics including the turbo. He's supposed to be a high ranking executive in Porsche (Pvt)Ltd. Would it by any chance be his one? lol. I'm just curious. I really love how the 2011 Cayenne turbo looks it looks so cool & it's way faster than previous Gen.
  23. Yes Like I said I have my opinions.I just don't like sportage. It has less room than the Tucson,Rav4 has way more room. But Sportage is better looking than Rav 4. I think it's so unfair that they don't offer the Optima & Sonata in Diesel models. You get more torque engine & better fuel economy. They are offered in the European & Korean Markets (1.7l CRDi engine).True it'll be a bit more expensive that gasoline versions but it's well worth the extra cash. Thanx BTW
  24. Hey btw...when I went over to KIA to order the Sorento. The all new Optima had just arrived. It was gorgeus, just lyk the sonata.Build quality was exceptional.Only offered in gasoline though. They said t'was only 5.5mil base price. full option costs 6.2mil.They said waiting period was 3-4months for any1 who'se interested.BTW I think the sportage looks like a blinged up toad.No offence jst my opinion
